Mr. Lybrate-user, there are many people with high uric acid, but only a few develop joint related problems. Not that every person with high uric acid has gouty arthritis. So you need not worry. You can still avoid foods which have high purines like: certain fishes, sardines, trout, herring, shell fish, salmon, scallop, mushrooms, mussels. Plus organ meats, red meat in general, alcohol, high sugarated drinks, colas, fructose corn syrup containing products. Can consume milk products, green leafy vegetables, salads, whole grain products, legumes etc.

Mr. The blood sugar readings show that diabetes is not in control. When in control fasting should be near 100 mg, pp should be 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7. Achieving good sugar control is absolutely essential, otherwise various long term complications of diabetes will start appearing much early. This condition affects glucose, fat and protein metabolism. Plus small and large blood vessels, this affects eyes, (retina), kidneys, nerves, lower limbs and heart. So please see that your sugar levels are well controlled.

Mr. Lybrate-user, fasting blood glucose of 81 mg is normal. Pp 185 mg is high, it falls in the pre-diabetes category. You need to take care. Diabetes is confirmed when blood glucose fasting is equal to or above 126 mg & pp 200 mg and above. If you adapt a modified lifestyle, like exercise regularly, maintain normal weight (bmi <23 kg/m2), avoid eating too much of sweets, no deep fried foods, no pastries and bakery items, no junk foods, no aerated sweetened drinks, highly processed foods and high milk products. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits like papaya, water melon, pomegranate, orange, sweet lime, water melon, apple, guava and pear. Exercise regularly for at least 1 hour a day. Avoid alcohol and smoking completely. By adapting above suggestions diabetes can be prevented or onset can be delayed. Thanks.

Mr Arif, If she wants to become pregnant then TSH levels should be closer to 2 mill units/ ml. That is possible only taking thyroxine tablets is a prescribed dose and checking TSH levels periodically to see if there needs to be any increase in thyroxine dosage.

Mr. Lybrate-user, after food blood sugar level of 188 mg, means" impaired glucose tolerance" (igt), which is called as pre diabetic state. This mean any time soon you may develop diabetes. At this stage usually no drug treatment is recommended. However, I suggest that you should get a complete diabetes profile done. That is get fasting, pp sugar and hba1c% tested. That will give a clearer picture then we will be able to decide whether there is any need for treatment. T2 diabetes even though a hereditary disease, it is also a preventable condition, provided one controls weight (bmi <23 kg/m2), (your bmi is 27.77kg/m2), takes balnced restricted diet, avoids too much sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, sweetened aerated drinks, fructose corn syrup containing foods and refrains from smoking and alcohol. Therefore, now start exercising daily for 1 hour and try to reduce your weight to about 71 kgs. (bmi 23kg/m2).
