What is diabetes, how we come to know about it and what precautions should we have to take to control diabetes.
Hello, diabetes is a metabolic disorder affecting carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism and both small and large blood vessels, with persistent hyperglycemia. In the long run it damages eyes (retina), nerves, kidney, heart and causing problems with lower limbs. It is caused because of either lack of insulin or resistance to its action (t2 dm) or total absence of insulin as in t1 dm. T2 diabetes is a preventable condition, by adapting modified life style one can prevent it. Modified life style means regular exercise, maintaining near normal weight, avoiding smoking and alcohol and eating a healthy diet.

Mr. Lybrate-user, your lipid levels are fairly normal. Hdl (good cholesterol) is slightly low, tgl os a little more than normal. These levels are in no way causing any problem related to heart as you are suggesting. If there is any doubt in mind meet a cardiologist or just get an echo cardiogram done. My advise please do regular exercise, avoid high fat containing foods, refrain from smoking and alcohol (if you are indulging in to). Adapt a healthy life style, then there should be no problem. Your lipid levels do not need any drug treatment. Thanks.

Your tsh has come down significantly. This means right now yoy are in hyperthyroid state. If you are taking thyroxine, the dose needs to be decreased. If not taking any medications you need detail clinical evalution for cause of this change.

See. If the reports are normal, then it is a matter of time only to click. Do not loose heart and try. 2nd week of menstrual cycle is crucial for conception. So try daily throughout the 2nd week if possible. It is better to avoid long travel,

Hi, Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your creatinine level is very high, with this your estimated GFR (glomerular filtration rate) has gone down to 24.6 ml /Sq Meter of body surface area. This suggests there is already a chronic kidney affection. Therefore, you need to achieve a strict glucose control with fasting below 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg and HbA1c% <7. As regards the reports I have no idea about those. Because I am answering your query for the first time. Thanks.

Yes. You need to continue the medicine. Keep getting your thyroid profile checked every 3-4 months. Do not stop the medicine without doctor's advice. You might need to lower the dose if the values become lower than desired.
