I am diabetes patient. I have tried many treatments but no one works. Can you help me in this?

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am diabetes patient. I have tried many treatments but no one works. Can you help me in this?
Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the bloodstream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. The failure of utilisation of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells results in production of less energy than normal condition. This is externally manifested as the fatigue & tiredness of the patient. This excess amount of blood sugar compels the kidney to function more than normal level in order to excrete the blood sugar molecules through urine. As a result the patient suffers from frequent urination. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. However, the patient does not need to take medicine unless his/her post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200. If post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200 then patient can take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnema sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with intake of medicines the patient need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. In order to decrease the intake of carbohydrate in diet the patient should avoid rice, sweet dishes, fruits, cold drinks, fast foods, alcoholic beverages, potato etc.

My father's uric acid level is high. How should control level of uric acid? please give some suggestion uric acid related. than.

M.D.(HOMOEOPATHY), C.S.D.(MUMBAI), BHMS
Homeopath, Bareilly
Most of the time, a high uric acid level occurs when your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid efficiently. Things that may cause this slow-down in the removal of uric acid include rich foods, being overweight, having diabetes, taking certain diuretics (sometimes called water pills) and drinking too much alcohol. Other less common causes are a diet high in purine-containing items or your body producing too much uric acid. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills) Drinking too much alcohol Genetics (inherited tendencies) Hypothyroidism Immune-suppressing drugs Niacin, or vitamin B-3 Obesity Psoriasis Purine-rich diet — liver, game meat, anchovies, sardines, gravy, dried beans and peas, mushrooms, and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer. Foods that are high in purine include: All organ meats (such as liver), meat extracts and gravy Yeasts, and yeast extracts (such as beer, and alcoholic beverages) Asparagus, spinach, beans, peas, lentils, oatmeal, cauliflower and mushrooms Foods that are low in purine include: Refined cereals - breads, pasta, flour, tapioca, cakes Milk and milk products, eggs Lettuce, tomatoes, green vegetables Cream soups without meat stock Water, fruit juice, carbonated drinks Peanut butter, fruits and nuts Keep well hydrated, drinking 2 to 3 liters of water per day, unless you were told otherwise. Take all of your medications for hyperuricemia as directed Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as these can contribute to problems with uric acid and hyperuricemia. Avoid medications, such as thiazide diuretics (hydrochlortiazide), and loop diuretics (such as furosemide or Lasix®). Also, drugs such as niacin, and low doses of aspirin (less than 3 grams per day) can aggravate uric acid levels. Do not take these medications, or aspirin unless a healthcare provider who knows your condition told you. If you experience symptoms or side effects, especially if severe, be sure to discuss them with your health care team. They can prescribe medications and/or offer other suggestions that are effective in managing such problems. So its better you go for homoeopathic treatment.

I use to take thyrox 50 for my overactive thyroid. Now my tsh is 4.33, should I continue taking the medicine?

I use to take thyrox 50 for my overactive thyroid. Now my tsh is 4.33, should I continue taking the medicine?
Lybrate-user, your tsh level of 4.03 milli units/l is good, shows hypothyroidism is in good control. There is no need to reduce the dose, because on treatment to achieve good control tsh should be between 3 to 4 milli units. In addition continue to follow a proper restricted diet avoiding foods that affect thyroxine action ; like soy beans, soy containing products and cabbage, cauliflower, radish, broccoli, peanuts, mustard and coffee. Plus use whole grain flours for roti and chapati. Consume good deal of green leafy vegetables and fruits. Always use iodinated salt. Check tsh values once in 6 months or so. Thanks.

My mother has thyroid issues. She takes eltroxin for 7 years. Recently she felt irregular pain in her lower abdomen. After her USG it was found that her uterus is but bulky. And it has a 1.9x 1.1 cm tumor / fibroid in it. Her hemoglobin count is 8.9. In her periods she has pain and excessive blood issues. We consulted one of very renowned doctor in Kolkata he suggested not to operate that now. Also he has prescribed these medicine below. Neopride total Depsonil pm 75 mg Pause mf Oleanz rt 20 After searching net I found these are mainly anti depression medicines. My mother is near to menopause I feel. These medicine are related to this age issues or doctor thinks she had depression issues. On added note my mother has nervous break down issues. She sweats much. She has insomnia. I want to know are these tendency of psychopath nature? Please suggest.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr. Lybrate-user, as a lady nears menopause certain psychological disturbances do occur. But these are temporary. Excessive sweating known as" hot flushes" is quite common during this period. This may remain till menopause is attained or even longer in some women. These are usually minor problems, need not lead to any serious psychiatric issues. As regards her tumor in uterus you may take a second opinion from another gynecologist. But her hemoglobin which is low needs to be treated with hematinic drugs.

Yes of-course be positive always and be normal in every circumstances.Surrender to god, have faith on him and you will free happy and relaxed. It has experienced by my self if you don't take tensions about anything and shift them to god then he will take care of you and you feel stress free and if you feel like this then you may not feel any physical problem. But it is also require that every person have to die who born in this earth so diseases are the reason for it some time. Except every thing as they happen in your life. May god bless you always.

I was diagnosed with a bilateral varicocele 6 months ago. Suddenly I am facing with gynecomastia from past 1 month. My thyroid tests are normal. My pathology is also normal. My question is can this be a tumor. Can a high varicocele (reflux when sleeping and without valsalva) cause gynecomastia.

Advanced Aesthetics, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Indore
These are 2 different entities and have no co relation .Male breast or gynecomastia reduction. Is one of the most frequently performed office surgeries and we are the pioneers in central India since last 30 years. To the best of our knowledge no medicines or creams work to decrease the breast Size. Gynecomastia is treatable by surgery. There is no medical treatment. It is a one day out patient surgery with very gratifying results. It boosts self esteem also. The Dr. Can examine and tell you what is the problem, gynecomastia has a breast tissue and a fat component. No one wants surgery unless it is necessary. There is no medication which can give the results. Surgery is the only answer. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control.
