I can understand every word with fears attached to family planning. Iucd is safe but it's been given a bad name. Why? some agencies fit it under most unsterile conditions in rural areas in vans, in medical camps etc just to show the numbers. We the people don't realise that one i'll filled infective device can play with life of woman and spread the bad word to thousands of women. One happy woman will share her experience but within confines of her home and with close relatives only. Convince your husband about iucd, go to government hospital or a renowned private clinic, pills cannot be given for years, it's given only for few months, maximum 6. You have no choice but fear is genuine and in my day to day practice I meet many women like you who come scared but go back with a smile as it is non invasive, woman had a choice to get it removed. Try it for 3 months. Good luck.

Yes first periods after delivery can be heavy at times. If it has settled now and there was no issues with bleeding after delivery there is nothing to worry. If your bleeding is still heavy and continuing or next periods are heavy then see a Gynaecologist.

Normally the duration of periods ranges from 3 to 6 days. This is when the exfoliated endometrial lining, which had been preparing for possible conception in the previous cycle, is discharged through the vagina. In the case, if the period only lasted 2 days, it is appropriate to speak about hypomenorrhea. Physiologically, having a short period is considered normal during hormonal alterations in the organism and intake of hormonal contraceptives. There are 2 congenial and 7 acquired causes or pathological scantiness of periods. In fact, periods are nothing but monthly discharge of blood and elements of endometrium, exfoliated due to alteration of hormonal profile. Menstruation appears to be one of the components of regeneration in the reproductive system. As a rule, the volume of blood loss does not exceed 35-50ml, and periods last from 3 to 6 days. Decrease of the amount of blood or obvious reduction of periods is commonly referred to as hypomenorrhea any queries inform me.

Most of the time, lower backache in early pregnancy is due to strain on ligaments and muscles which are more relaxed due to pregnancy hormones. They come and go. You will need rest and now on you should avoid lifting heavy objects and excessive bending. If the pain persists more than 5-7 days, please meet your doctor.

The Menstrual cycle in females is a very mathematical cycle and every female has to be very particular regarding this as it helps in determining the health of a female as well as the best conceiving time .If this cycle is irregular then she cant judge whether she is pregnant or not or whether she had conceived or not.So this can only be confirmed by regular intermittent Urine pregnancy tests if you have not used any protection.

U can but there is minimal risk associated of abortion or preterm labour. Before that you must ask your gynaec because she alone will know about your wife.

Hello, Vaginal infection does not necessarily occur due to unsafe intercourse. There are many other factors responsible for it like improper maintenance of hygiene. Ensure that you use a specialized vaginal wash and also get yourself examined for yeast infection by a gynaecologist.

My wife delivered baby girl 3 months back. Her MC has started now last only for day in a month. We had unprotected sex yesterday and now worried if she may get present again. If yes which one. 3- will there any side effect of those pills as she is breast feeding and will it affect on her body or milk? Please advice.

With one sex there may not be much chance of pregnancy and she is lactational anovulatory period and that is why mc was just one day. As a breastfeeding mother she need not take any pill. Safe and best is to insert an intrauterine device like iucd (copper t)

The condition is termed as Metrorrhagia also known as the dysfunctional uterine bleeding is a problem that women suffer from. Metrorrhagia is common, with patients who are near to their menopausal phase. Basically, this condition is characterized by bleeding episodes (mainly spotting but can lead to severe bleeding) outside the menstrual phase. Metrorrhagia is considered a symptom of a possible health problem but shouldn’t be handled as a serious health problem right away. One should not panic. Some of the main cause are----------- • Endometrial hyperplasia. This condition is said to be a result of abnormal levels of estrogen and decreased levels of progesterone. This abnormality in hormonal levels would then prompt excessive endometrial cells. • Uterine cancer. This is considered a common cause of the metrorrhagia. Increasing age is related to uterine cancer, making postmenopausal women as victims of the uterine cancer. Tumors such as those found in ovarian cysts can result to abnormal off-menstrual bleeding. • Ruptured polyps. There are cases where a woman is unaware that she has cervical polyps. Somehow, after sexual contact, it will be identified. Postcoital bleeding should not be taken lightly, as this may indicate for presence of polyps in the cervix or endometrium. • Cervical dysplasia. This condition is a pre-cancer stage that involves vaginal spotting as a symptom. This may be indicative that cancer development is in progress. • Cervicitis. This is known as infection of the cervix. Bleeding during the infection would indicate prompt attention as this may progress to a chronic problem. • Abortion or miscarriage. This is a common cause of vaginal bleeding. There are cases where after abortion, fetal parts are left that can cause for vaginal infection and bleeding. • Infection. Sexually transmitted infection/s is a probable cause of metrorrhagia. Syphilis is known to cause vaginal bleeding. Those who have Lyme disease are prone to metrorrhagia as they become susceptible to infections. • Hormonal imbalance. There are underlying conditions such as hyperthyroidism/hypothyroidism that cause hormonal imbalance. • Coagulation problems. Women who have an underlying coagulation (blood clotting) problem such as those prone to bleeding are highly susceptible to metrorrhagia. • Use of contraception. The use of devices that can traumatize the vaginal or uterine lining can cause bleeding. IUD is a common device to cause metrorrhagia. Treatment depends upon the cause of Uterine bleeding and for that a thorough physical examination is required. So my advise is to immediately consult a gynaecologist so as to diagnose the underlying cause at the earliest and treatment given accordingly.
