During pregnancy intercourse is how much right & wrong. What is advantage & disadvantage?

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Well it depends how high you are in pregnancy (how many months pregnant). Sex in general is absolutely fine — you are not going to poke your fetus, and for most women, there’s no reason not to twist the sheets throughout the trimesters. That’s especially true if your due date has come and gone. Sperm is rich in hormones called prostaglandins, which can actually stimulate the uterus to contract.

Nuts - Are They Good For Your Health?

For too long, nuts have been shunned from diets because they contain fat. On the contrary, nuts are actually good for you! Nuts contain many, many nutrients that are required by your body. So before you think skipping out on nuts is okay, read to know more.

Nuts and your health
Nuts contain fibre, protein, copper, magnesium, folic acid, vitamin E and monounsaturated fats. They are also packed with antioxidant phytochemicals. Thus, nuts are a powerhouse of nutrients that can greatly lower the danger of heart diseases. They also have been found to reduce bad cholesterol levels and increase good cholesterol levels. Also, nuts can prevent your arteries from hardening.

Nuts and your diet
Nuts are filling, nutritious and delicious, which is what every dieter wants in their diet. In fact, if you want to stay loyal to your diet, nuts could prove to be very helpful. The fibre and fat content in nuts is filling, curbing your hunger and making you eat less. Studies have found out, because this quality of nuts, people did lose weight when they incorporated nuts in their diet. It also helped them stick to their diets for a long time.

Portion control
Nothing is good in excess, and sometimes too much of a good thing can end up harming you. Just because nuts are healthy, it doesn’t mean one should overindulge. Like every food, nuts too contain calories. The math is simple too much nuts equals extra calories. It is always better to control portion. While nuts are rich in dietary fibre and monounsaturated fats, you need to make sure you don’t eat it blindly.

Eating amnesia, where you don’t pay attention to what you’re eating, is common when it comes to nuts. When you eat nuts by a handful, chances are you don’t pay attention as you reach for that third or fourth serving. This adds to your calorie count. The best way to avoid eating amnesia is to control your portion. Pre-portion your nuts in bags, or grab a handful and stow away the rest.

Tips
Here are a few tips on how you can include nuts in your diet, and control their portions:
1. Add nuts to your cold or hot cereal for a wholesome breakfast
2. Scatter some almonds over yoghurt for a quick snack
3. Add some peanuts to level up your frozen yoghurt
4. Add nuts to muffins, waffles, pancakes or bread
5. Flavour your steamed vegetables with some nuts

Dear patient, the chances of pregnancy cannot be ruled out. I suggest you wait for some time and in the next week get a urine pregnancy test done. Delayed menses month on month is most likely due to stress which might be due to anxiety for conceiving. Relax and let the nature take its path. You can try using ovulation kits which can help you conceive.

First do a urine pregnancy test to exclude pregnancy. If negative consider combined pills to regularise your cycles.

It can be due to Hormonal imbalance. The following lifestyle factors can also upset your balance of hormones and cause irregular bleeding: • extreme weight loss or weight gain • excessive exercise • stress Contraceptives An intrauterine system (IUS) or contraceptive pill may cause spotting between periods. An intrauterine device (IUD) doesn't cause irregular periods, but can cause heavy bleeding or painful bleeding. Small bleeds, known as breakthrough bleeds, are common when the contraceptive pill is first used. They're usually lighter and shorter than normal periods, and usually stop within the first few months. Polycystic ovary syndrome Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) occurs when very small cysts (small, fluid-filled sacs) develop in the ovaries. The usual symptoms of PCOS are irregular or light periods or no periods at all. This is because, in women with PCOS, ovulation (the release of an egg) may not take place as often as normal. The production of hormones may also be unbalanced, and you could have higher levels of testosterone than normal. Testosterone is a male hormone that women usually have a small amount of. Gynaecological problems Irregular bleeding can also be caused by an unsuspected pregnancy, early miscarriage, or problems with the womb or ovaries. Your Doctor may refer you to a gynaecologist (a specialist in conditions of the female reproductive system) if further investigation and treatment is needed. Thyroid disorders A thyroid disorder is another possible, but rare, cause of irregular periods. The thyroid gland, found in the neck, produces hormones that maintain the body's metabolism (the chemical processes your body uses to turn food into energy). Your GP may test for a thyroid problem by taking a blood test to check levels of thyroid hormones in your blood. Ruling out pregnancy If you have irregular periods, your doctor may recommend a pregnancy test and ultrasound scan to rule out a possible pregnancy, particularly if you're in pain (which could mean you're having an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage).

Hi, the ultrasound seems to be ok. You need to have some supplements of iron and calcium which your doctor will prescribe. Diet should include nuts and fruits. Fruits are better than fruit juices. High protein and low carb diet is better.
