Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Dry mouth may result from less salivation in to your mouth because of dehydration, very less jaw movements. It may also result from mouth breathing, that we do unknowingly while sleeping. Drink good amount of water, jaw movements while talking causes salivation. Ask someone to observe you while sleeping. If you have mouth breathing, there are certain appliances to manage it. You can contact for that.

Kindly apply orahelp on your ulcers, also take multivitamins. Try to find out that you are not constipated or under stress most of the times as these are few of the reasons for ulcers. Also avoid taking too hot or spicy food as this will irritate your ulcers.

Jaw is locked. Can not open mouth and also have problem of wisdom tooth on same side. Please advise.

BDS, MDS Prosthodontics
Dentist, Mumbai
Please visit your local dentist. If your daughter is between 18-25 it is very likely that the third molar/wisdom tooth is responsible for the same. She can try warm compresses at home or a muscle relaxant. If jaw is open and locked it needs to be treated by dentist.

I have a cavity in my teeth. The doctor said rct is the only way to save you teeth mam there is some other way to save my teeth. There is sensitivity and pain also pain increases in night at the time of sleeping. Rct cost 3000 rs so it is huge amount. Any other way.

D.L.D, MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, BDS
Dentist, Ahmedabad
If you have sensitivity and pain which increases when you go to sleep indicates of deep caries involving the nerve in the centre of the tooth. If you want to save the tooth, best treatment indicated is rct or extraction which is not recommended as replacement would be more costly, it's best to preserve your natural tooth with a rct. All the best Dr Adarsh Desai

I am having tooth problems. I feel like itching in my enamels. I don't know whether its sensitivity or something else...
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Gum disease is a slow progressing disease. It is caused due to many factors. It can be best treated by removal of the local irritants like stains and deposits, correcting systemic conditions like diabetes and preventing habits like tobacco. Gum disease will not cease on its own. It requires a specialist management who will perform treatment like oral prophylaxis, root planing and periodontal flap therapy with or without grafting based on the extent of the disease.

Use Homeodent toothpaste twice daily, morning and night before sleep. Take care.Home remedy:- Cleaning your teeth with fresh orange peel on a regular basis will reduce the yellow tinge accumulated on your teeth. Rub orange peel over your teeth every night before going to sleep. The vitamin C and calcium in the orange peel will combat the micro organisms throughout the night.Do this for a few weeks and you will notice effective results. If fresh orange peel is not available, you can use dried orange peel powder. Take care.

I have a habit of cracking my teeth (like continuously chewing motions) when I'm asleep, I was unaware of it until recently when it was pointed out to me. I worry that in the long term, this could affect my teeth and cause them to flatten, and already I can see that my canines have flattened considerably. I am unsure whether to consult a dentist or a sleep clinic in this regard, please advise a course of action.

Kindly see a dentist at the earliest. He will first make a bite-guard after which he/she will assess the cause for grinding and help you correct the same. Some common causes of grinding - stress, improper fillings/crowns with high-points (bite not set properly) etc.
