I pill prevents pregnancy, no need to take after anal sex. Due to excessive hormones you would be having side effects like nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, menstrual changes, ghabhrahat, it will last for some days. Due to fooling activities and hormones, you would have breast tenderness for 2-3 days.

New Year Special - 6 Healthy Resolutions You Must Adopt!

New Year Special - 6 Healthy Resolutions You Must Adopt!

It's time to welcome the New Year with enthusiasm and joy. The new year is an exciting time, brimming with the fresh starts and new beginnings. It's also the time when you plan your resolutions for the year. It’s a chance to recommit to your health and well-being - Exercise three times a week, drink more water, eat healthy. Well... creating these resolutions is easy enough, adhering to them beyond the month of January, however, is just a different story.

As per a research, only 40 percent of the people are actually able to achieve their resolutions with the majority getting off the bandwagon within six months. It's easier to set realizable goals that are achievable in reasonable steps, however, it is difficult to turn your wishes into actions as it takes time for a behavior to change. As making a new behavior or habit, permanent requires diligence and commitment. So, here are some health and fitness goals that are not only easy to plan, but are also easy to realize.

  1. Reboot your dietWhen adopting a new diet, think a step ahead and be always prepared. Avoid situations that make your body feel deprived and crave for that snack. Establish the motivation behind your seeking the diet change and use this motivation to limit the ingestion of unhealthy meals.
  2. Formulate your resolution into a positive action: Emphasize on the positive action that you will add more vegetables to my diet and not just that you have to lose weight. Eliminate junk food products from the fridge and kitchen pantry and restock them with healthy food products and healthy snack options for those food cravings in between meals.
  3. Reboot your workout plan: To have a successful workout plan, adopt it as a permanent lifestyle change, rather than an activity towards a number on the scale. Set weekly fitness goals to establish and monitor success ensuring self-motivation.
  4. Reward achievable targets: Have realistic rewards for the achievable targets to reinforce the set goals. You can also pair your work out with an interesting activity such as catching up on an interesting TV show after the workout.
  5. Reboot your stressful days: Identify what heightens your stress level and specify the tools that will ease your daily tension. In accomplishing, your daily tasks try to overextend yourself, putting your needs on hold before others. Take a timeout from the hustle and busy schedule to yourself to pose and reflect on your activities. The timeout also helps you to relax before engaging in another strenuous activity. Take some time to meditate in order to eliminate the stress that may affect your physical and emotional health.
  6. Reboot your energy: Having low energy level can affect a person's focus level hence, prevents them from making a change. It is therefore important to maintain the energy level throughout the day to avoid fatigue and excuses. Have a diary to keep a record of the time you are most active or exhausted in a day, so that you change your diet and activities accordingly. Have a to-do list of the tasks that you have to accomplish within the day and set a reminder for bedtime so that you can get enough rest.

Hello respected doctors. My cousin had Papp-a less during 1st trimester. Now her baby is 8months old but she is lean. What diet can be given to her to gain weight? Thank u.:)

M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition
Hello respected doctors. My cousin had Papp-a less during 1st trimester. Now her baby is 8months old but she is lean....
Bring on some spices (8 months old) And softly mashed, or chopped into fine pieces, fruits, vegetables, meats, pasta and dairy such as yogurt and cheeses. Pasta, veggies, and fruit should all be soft cooked and possibly mashed with a fork or masher. (Bananas need only be mashed.) Meats and proteins such as egg yolk, should be cooked and pureed or chopped into small soft bits. If offering Tofu, you need not cook it first. Remember, your baby will not have molars until sometime around the 12-18 month age range so all foods should be easily mashed between the gums. How much will your 8 month – 10 month old baby eat? Your 8 to 10 month old baby may seem to be starving herself at some point. Because you are likely offering her more finger food selections or thicker/chunkier foods, the amount of food eaten appears smaller. At this stage, your baby may be eating 3 “meals” a day and possibly enjoying a snack or 2 in between. There are some babies in this age range who will still be eating only 1 “meal” of solids so don’t feel pressured to have your baby eat 3 solid food meals per day. The important thing is to watch your baby’s hunger cues and and try to begin setting a schedule for 3 meals a day. Offer him a balanced array of foods – fruits, veggies, a protein & a grain if possible and ensure his nursing or formula feedings are adequate. Visit the Baby Menu to see an idea of some meals for this age range. What to Eat at 8 to 10 Months of Age? AGE/STAGE – 8 months – 10 months old The AAP recommends that an infant not be started on solid foods until after 6 months of age. Many pediatricians still start babies on solids around 4 months of age. This chart accommodates all ages and stages up to 12 months. CEREALS Try mixing together the grains that your baby has had without any reaction (s). Begin offering breads and muffins when baby has mastered mashing more textured foods. Pasta makes for great finger foods. FRUITS Begin making your own fruit combinations once baby has had several fruits without any reaction (s). Venture into Papaya and Melon Swirl. After 8 months old – you may wish to try offering raw ripe fruits. Soft cooked fruits make for great beginner Baby Finger Foods. VEGGIES Soft cooked veggies make for great beginner Baby Finger Foods. Try mixing up a veggie medley now. Add some grated cheese for extra temptation & yumminess. Saute or roast some onions or peppers to add to baby’s food or serve as finger foods. Make a Leek and Chicken Potato Mash. PROTEIN Once your baby has reached 8 months old, try an Egg Yolk Omelet – the perfect chance to slip in some veggies. DAIRY Get adventurous with Cheeses and Yogurts now. Soft Cheeses such as Brie pose health risks so hold off on those. Avocado mashed with a bit of cream cheese – YUM. Breakfast ¼ – ½ cup cereal or mashed egg ¼ – ½ cup fruit, diced (if your child is self- feeding) 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Snack 4–6 oz. Breastmilk or formula or water ¼ cup diced cheese or cooked vegetables Lunch ¼ – ½ cup yogurt or cottage cheese or meat ¼ – ½ cup yellow or orange vegetables 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Snack 1 teething biscuit or cracker ¼ cup yogurt or diced (if child is self-feeding) fruit Water Dinner ¼ cup diced poultry, meat, or tofu ¼ – ½ cup green vegetables ¼ cup noodles, pasta, rice, or potato ¼ cup fruit 4–6 oz. Formula or breastmilk Before Bedtime 6–8 oz. Formula or breastmilk or water (If formula or breastmilk, follow with water or brush teeth afterward).

Increase Your Changes Of Fertility With IMSI!

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, DGO, Dip.Obst.(Ireland), FICOG

Increase Your Changes Of Fertility With IMSI!

Of a million sperms released in one ejaculation, a single sperm manages to fertilize the egg, which grows into an embryo and then a baby. Due to various reasons, when this does not happen, it is termed as infertility and is currently on the rise.

With IVF, couples sometimes go through multiple sessions to ensure fertilization. ICSI or intracytoplasmic sperm injection improved this chance of fertilization. It is where a single sperm is used to fertilize an egg in an artificially controlled environment and then injected into the uterus where it grows further.

The next step in this technique is IMSI, where the chances of successful pregnancy are further enhanced and also promises improved quality of the embryo. IMSI, as it stands for, has “morphologically selected” which means under a highly powerful microscope, the best sperms are selected and then used to fertilize the egg. Morphology stands for shape, and the shape of the sperm is a direct indicator of the sperm quality. This not just ensures good success rate but also ensures the sperm which is used produces a high-quality embryo.

  1. High success rate of fertility
  2. Reliable and efficient method of ART (assisted reproductive technology)
  3. More expensive than traditional IVF methods or ICSI
  4. Requires complex equipment, training, and set-up

  1. Useful in couples who have failed IVF previously
  2. Male infertility with unidentifiable cause
  3. Poor sperm quality

What to expect?

Both partners are prepared both physically and mentally prior to IMSI.

Before the procedure - men:

  1. A screening is first done to decide if the sperms can be used directly
  2. In case of hereditary diseases, a donor is preferred
  3. The first technical step involves sperm collection, either directly or through a donor
  4. Sperms are collected either through masturbation or through a small incision in the testicles
  5. Sperms used could be fresh or frozen; fresh ones may be stored for later use also

Before the procedure – women:

  1. The woman is put on some ovulation therapy to ensure the release of multiple eggs, so a good one is picked. These high doses of hormones ensure multiple eggs are released.
  2. Egg release is monitored through blood and urine tests
  3. They are collected within after 36 hours of release

During the IMSI procedure:

  1. A healthy egg is chosen and placed in a glass container containing hyaluronidase
  2. Sperms are placed in a medium which will slow their movement, which enables picking a good sperm for fertilization
  3. The dual advantage of this is that in addition to a high success rate of fertilization, the quality of the embryo is also assured
