Take high fiber low fat diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take regular breaks from desk. Avoid outside food completely.

Hi lybrate-user. I suggest you do a pregnancy test as soon as possible to check. Though I would recommend to do the test with an early morning sample of urine as it has highest chances of detecting a pregnancy.

Hello, homoeo-care** * acid phos 1000-4 drops, once in a wk * wiesbaden 30-4 drops, thrice a day * jaborandy q 20 drops with 10 drops of water, apply locally twice a day. * you are required to go for a walk in the morning for an hr. * take plenty of water to keep your scalp moist as dry and greasy scalp will not allow to grow hair. * go for meditation to strengthen your hair follicles to ease hair growth. What is Baker Cyst and its causes?
A baker cyst is a swelling in the space behind the knee. It is also known as popliteal cyst. It causes stiffness and knee pain. Baker Cyst is common nowadays and can be caused by virtually any cause of joint swelling. The pain caused by popliteal cyst is more worsens if the patients fully flexes or extends the knee or moves around .The excess joint fluid (synovial fluid) bulges to back of the knee to form the baker cyst. Ostearoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis associated with Baker’s Cyst. And Juvenile arthritis is one of another cause of baker cyst in children. Baker Cysts is more common in females of 40 plus age or above. Baker cysts also can result from cartilage tears which include torn meniscus, rehematoid arthritis and other knee problems.

What are the symptoms of Baker Cyst?
Joint locking, knee pain, swelling and calf pain are some of the symptoms of baker cyst. Swelling or lump behind the knee is more common symptom and this is more evident while standing or performing any activity of knee.

If you have a well balanced diet there is no need for any supplements unless suffering from deficiency. Moreover no supplements should be taken without advice of a health professional as it can interfere with the medicine you are taking and excess of any nutrient is harmful.

Dear patient, a proper measure for knowing and managing your diabetes will be to ensure a hba1c below 6.5%. Regarding diet, we indians have high carbohydrate diet. You have to closely observe your plate and you can come up with a better diet plan for yourself or your mother. To simplify it, identify the items which are carb rich in your plate and try to compensate the same with protein and fibres, for eg cut down a roti and increase sabji, dal or salad. To have a better control you can do a monthly self glucose monitoring 3 times a day and keep a track of the food with it. Check fasting sugar, sugar one hour prior to lunch and 2 hrs post lunch, and note down the details of her breakfast and lunch items. Modify as per my earlier suggestions and within a week you will see your blood sugar level responding. Best of luck.

Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! It not only depends upon the amount of food you consume daily, but also about eating Sensibly, depends upon your genes, your body's proper metabolism, assimilation and absorption, the levels of stress/ tension in your life, and any underlying medical condition you have! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points (if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. Both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 3 months. Revert.

Type 2 diabetes and Exercise :
Type 2 dm is a preventable disease, when a person with a positive family history adapts a modified life style - exercising more than 1 hour every day, taking a balanced diet, avoiding excess fats (particularly deep fried foods) and maintaining weight nearer ideal body weight, there is every possibility of either preventing or postponing the onset of t2dm.
Similarly a person with t2dm should also follow a regimen of regular exercise to burn extra calories, make insulin work better and prevent adding additional weight to already existing. Regular exercise particularly out door activity gives a feeling of well being and freshness. Ideal exercise is brisk walking for at least one hour or if one can jog or run nothing like it. I am myself a t2dm patient but I do jog over 12 to 16 kms evry alternate days. I also run half marathons like scmumbai marathon since last four years, plus kaveri trail marathon at srirangpattan and bangalore marathon. Exercise for half an hour just makes you sweat a bit but does not help in loosing weight.
Hence I would advise all diabetes patients to consider out door exercise as part of their life style.

Dear to decrease your fat you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help.. 1. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 2. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 3. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana, kapalbharti pranayam daily 10 min per asana. 4. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 5. Avoid oily and spicy food. And constipation.

Hello Doc, I am 47 years old and suffering with anxiety since last 4 years, I face frequent panic attacks when I go outside, I have been using clonotril and daxid, but when I try to reduce dose then problem increased now I am taking Mirnite-20 and nexito-20 prescribed by my Psychologist, since last 3 months but I do feel the same problem, My question is that I'll ever be live without medicines or not. DEAR Lybrate USER. This problem is due to irritation and inadequate nutrition of the brain. So follow few basic things 1) drink only 100-150 ml of water during meals 2) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal 3) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale foods 4) avoid coffee and tea 5) try to sleep upto 10.30 pm 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam regularly early in the morning A) eat 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals B) take 250 ml of fresh butter milk during meals. C) instill 3-4 drops of CHANDANADI TAILA in each nostril at the time of sleeping… Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you complete relief from anxiety. THANKS.

Hi Khajoor is dry dates and is rich in carbohydrates when compared to fresh dates. So I suggest you to have fresh dates, 1 or 2 a day, 2 to 3 times a week with careful monitoring of your blood sugars.
