I am having tea daily 3 times. Is there any side effect of having tea? Please suggest me.

M. Sc. Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics, B.Sc-Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Visakhapatnam
Caffeine inhibits the assimilation of nutrients if consumed in more than required amounts. Also it depends on the time at which you are consuming. My suggestion to you is to consume more of antioxidant and phytonutrient rich herbal teas and concoctions.

I asked the same question before and got responded, however somehow the answer is not displayed. So, I am asking you same question again, hope this time works. I am 33 years old. I have been masturbating since I was in 9th grade, first it was 2 times day and then it becomes excessive. Almost 5 times a day. Now when I am trying to masturbate it burns, and look like I lost my interest in sex. Is it curable? Can I have my sex drive back? And after marriage could it be really problem to get a child? Please advise me. I am really desperate.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
If you are worried whether masturbation will cause infertility or has decreased your interest in sex, then stop worrying. Masturbation doesnot cause that. But" masturbating 5 times a day" suggests you are obsessed with sexual thoughts and anxiety and masturbate to relieve that. I would suggest you to find healthier alternatives to relieve sexual anxiety. Make friends, talk to them, relax, go on vacations, have good sleep at night, eat healthy, avoid smoking and alcohol. Burning during masturbation could be due to infection of the urethra. All you need is rest and plenty of oral fluids. If you get fever visit a urologist. If you still are unable to control your urge to masturbate, consult me online. You may needs short course of medications along with sex counseling.

I am suffering from headache for last few days and also feeling not well from last few days stomach problem is aslo high what should I have do.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors, including: Alcohol, particularly red wine Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates Changes in sleep or lack of sleep Poor posture Skipped meals Stress Insufficient sleep or rest Overexertion Nutritional deficiencies A secondary headache is a symptom of a disease that can activate the pain-sensitive nerves of the head. Any number of conditions — varying greatly in severity — may cause secondary headaches. Get your blood pressure checked, make a chart. Let me know about the readings, will give you medication accordingly. Also, get eyes tested as headache over the eyebrows is related to your weak eyesight or weak eye muscles. Medication: Meantime, can start with homoeopathic medicine - Bakson's Mig-Aid tablet/ after every 2 hours. What kind of stomach problem do you have, kindly elaborate it.

Diabetic Retinopathy - Understanding the Stages of Disorder!

MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Noida
Diabetic Retinopathy - Understanding the Stages of Disorder!

Also termed as diabetic eye disease, this is a disease in which the retina gets damaged due to diabetes. This usually leads to blindness. In most cases, as inferred from various studies, this affects people who have had diabetes for more than 20 years. Diabetic retinopathy can also be a problem for women during pregnancy. With proper monitoring and treatment, this disease can be cured. One major way to prevent this disease could be by regulating diabetes.

Signs and symptoms
Like many other eye disorders, this too has no warning signs. However, in general, people with macular edema are likely to have blurred vision, making it hard for the individuals to carry out tasks like driving and reading. In most cases, if not treated, the situations may worsen with time.

Stages of disorder

  1. Initial stage: In the initial stage, it is called non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy. There are generally no visible symptoms and patients may even have a normal 20/20 vision. The only way to detect non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy is by fundus photography in which the microscopic bulges that are filled with blood can be detected in the artery walls. In case, the patient suffers from reduced vision, to see the back of the eye, a fluorescein angiography is performed. This way the blocked and narrowed retinal blood vessels are visible. The lack of blood flow due to blocked blood vessels is called ischemia. Macular edema can occur at any stage of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy. In this condition, the contents of the blood vessels leak into the macula region, thereby causing blurred vision, distorted images, etc. In such cases, optical coherence tomography can be carried out to show the areas in which retinal thickening has occurred.
  2. Second stage: The second stage is termed as proliferative diabetic retinopathy. In this stage, occurrence of new abnormal blood vessels is seen. These form at the back of the eye. These blood vessels are fragile and hence can easily burst and bleed, thereby causing the vision to blur. If this occurs for the first time, it may not be severe. Only a few specs of blood or spots floating on the visual field of the patients can be noticed. Within a few days, these spots may enlarge and the leakage of blood may increase, which can impact vision. The blood might take a few days till a year to clear entirely. In some circumstances, the blood might not clear at all.

Preventing heat disorders

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
During summer, susceptible children and adolescents can develop heat stroke, which can even lead to death if not identified and treated in time.
Heat index is more important than the atmospheric temperature. A 42 degree temperature may feel like 46 degrees if the heat index is high.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sun when the temperature is high. Use an umbrella if you need to go out.
Wear light cotton clothes to avoid heat absorption.
Make sure that you are properly hydrated before you step out in the heat. The requirement of water in summer is 500 ml more than that in winter.
Summer drinks should be refreshing and cool such as panna, khas khas, rose petal water, lemon water, bel sharbat and sattu sharbat.
Any drink with more than 10% sugar becomes a soft drink and so should be avoided. Ideally, the percentage of sugar, jaggery or khand should be 3%, which is the percentage present in oral rehydration drink.
You should pass urine at least once in 8 hours. This is a sign of adequate hydration.
If you develop heat cramps, drink plenty of lemon water with sugar and salt.
Heat exertion presents with fever and sweating. If you develop heat exertion, drink plenty of oral fluids, mixed with water, lemon and sugar. Presence of sweating is good sign.
If a person develops high grade fever, i. E. More than 104 degrees fahrenheit with dry armpits, this is a sign of impending heat stroke, which is a medical emergency. The temperature here may be more than 106 degree fahrenheit. Fever should be brought down rapidly within minutes to save the life.
People, who have been advised to restrict their fluid intake on medical grounds, should discuss their fluid requirement in summer with their doctor.

I have feel that my penis is become very curve. I can not do sex properly. Is there any solution? Surgery should needed?

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
1. Little bit of bending to one side up to 25 degree is considered normal. So don't worry 2. If the bending is more and it is associated with painful erection, it is due to thickening of fibrous tissue on one side as in peyronie's disease and may need surgery. 3. You may consult urologist for advice.
