Yes this medicine can work on fibroid but it depends on the size of fibroid. If fibroid is enlarged then not cure by medicine either homoeopathic or allopathy.

Process of Fertility

Good morning everybody. I am Dr Vandana Hegde. I am practising reproductive medicine, the department of Hegde fertility centre for the last 10 years. Today I would be speaking about the various aspects of fertility. So I will start from the basics to know what happens exactly and what are the problems that arise.

So here is a normal menstrual cycle of the female. There are certain things you need to know. What happens is during the onset of the periods, when the menstrual cycle starts, the eggs start maturing. Now, this egg grows in a wall filled substance which is called Follicle. So normally when the egg starts maturing, it reaches the complete maturity level on the 14th day of the cycle, an average of 12-16 days. As the egg starts maturing, the follicle size increases. Now when the maximum diameter of an egg is reached, the follicle burst and egg comes out. This process is called Ovulation.

If this ovulation happens on the correct 14th day of our cycle, over the next 14th day if there is no pregnancy then a girl will resume her menses which is a failure to conceive. If it happens regularly then the girl will have a regular menstruation cycle of 28-30 days. And if a girl is having the irregular menstrual cycle, then the ovulation is not happening correctly on time. So this is known as Ovulatory disorders. Now, what happens after the ovulation round.

Once the egg is released, it is caught by fallopian tubes. Fallopian tube has finger like projection and the eggs are normally kept on the last part of the tubes. Now when the couples meet, the sperm is released in the vagina. The sperms have basically the head, body and the tale. As I had mentioned earlier, once the ovulation happens, the eggs do not have any tale, so it needs a tube to collect it an d store it in the tube. The sperms will move into the uterine cavity and move into the fallopian tube and have to reach the other part of the tube. So at this point, the sperms will be reaching the egg.

There are certain criteria for normal semen. So when do we know that it is a fertile semen for which there are some criteria like the volume should be atleast more than 1.5 ml ejaculate. And the sperm count should be more than 15 million per ml of sperm. Because of the tale fraction of the mortality, there should be active mortality of the sperm for more than 30%. So when the sperm enters the egg, the process is called Fertilization. And the egg and the sperm will fuse to form an Embryo. The early embryo is called Zygote which is a single cell. So when this forms, the embryo has to divide. In that tube the embryo undergoes division. So in that cell, the embryo will divide into 2 cells, 4 cells, 8 cells. As the embryo is progressively dividing, the tube is going to push the embryo back slowly into the uterine cavity. During this process of egg maturation, the follicle growth, the ovulation, there is another process happening in the uterus.

So here is the uterus and this is the Uterine bed. So, as the follicles are increasing in size, so it produces a hormone called estrogen which is actually acting on the uterine bed. And the uterine bed is ready, there is an increase in thickness for an embryo to come here. And once the ovulation happens, there is a pregnancy favouring hormone called Progesterone which is increasing in the second half of the menstrual cycle. When this comes, there is a lot of blood flow coming to the uterine bed. So this is the time when the embryo is actually reaching the uterine bed. This process, when the embryo reaches the uterine bed and when the embryo sticks to the uterine bed, this process is called Implantation. Basically what is happening here is the blood collection between the uterus and the embryo. That is how the nutrients from the mother's body are transferred to the embryo which grows further and establishes a pregnancy.

So when the couples conceive, these are the things which have to happen in a natural way for them to conceive. Now what happens when they do not conceive when they try for more than a year after the marriage and still unable to conceive, so we evaluate the problems. Evaluation of problem depends on the steps which I have told.

I masturbated on my girlfriend vagina. Not inside. I masturbated outside the vagina. will she get pregnant?

General Physician, Sambalpur
You should not do like that. Because a single drop of semen if entered inside can make her pregnant if she is on unsafe days of her menstrual cycle. In this there is little chance. Still you have to be confirmed with pregnancy kit. For details you can consult me online on this site with an appointment.

I am 22 years female. Over last few months I have been gaining weight and I got stomach. At first it was slight and unnoticeable but now my stomach became very much bulged out and my weight also increased drastically which is appreciable. My hands also became fat. I am developing blackness around my neck and facial hair. I am even getting back pain. Back pain is occurring once in a while but causing a lot of discomfort. To overcome my problems I started regular exercise and diet control to an extent possible but there has been no result, instead my symptoms are worsening. I can't any more changes to my diet or any vigorous exercises as I am a student and my lifestyle is sedentary, and I stay in hostel. I visit home once in 15 days. Then fed up of my appearance I went to doctor. Doctor has done ultrasound of abdomen and confirmed bilateral polycystic ovaries. After it is confirmed my doctor has asked me to keep those reports safely as it will be useful in future for the purpose of treatment, and as of now according to my doctor I don't require treatment as pcos generally exist in many girls in my age and it's not a major concern unless they get married, it's generally after marriage that complications arise. So my doctor did not give me any medications. I was little bit dissatisfied as I my major concern which dragged md to doctor was my increasing weight and stomach and according to meif the underlying cause pcos is treated then my other problems will be solved so I am planning to consult another doctor soon. I Want to know from Lybrate doctors whether my doctor is right or wrong and whether I should consult and other doctor and get treatment case of treatment generally what medication do they prescribe and will be effective? My periods are regular.

It is highly unlikely that she would have concieved. However it is best to use condoms during each act of sextual intercourse. Because both r young unmarried and cannot afford a pregnancy at this stage of your life and career. Also condoms will prevent transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.

Can't say, though it's very unlikely to be pregnant but still wait for the cycle date ,if she misses her period, go for urine pregnancy test and confirm.

Diwali Special - Things You Must Do To Prevent Yourself From Pollution!

Diwali Special - Things You Must Do To Prevent Yourself From Pollution!

With Diwali, the festival of lights, the festive spirit associated with the joyous occasion can be felt in the air. Do you know what else can be felt in the air as well? Pollution! There is a startling increase in the pollution level due to the burning of firecrackers. Apart from the new clothes, sweets and being with our loved ones, the crackers are an inseparable part of Diwali. So know how you can stay safe while having the best time of your life?

Suspended particulate matter

Innumerable tiny particles called the suspended particulate matter are found in the air that we breathe. The amount of SPM found in the air determines the level of air pollution. While the safe level of particulate matter is 100 per cubic meter, many Indian cities report a level of around 1600 which is 14 times higher than what is considered safe.

The suspended particulate matter can cause severe respiratory diseases since they can stick to the sides of the airway and travel deep into the lungs. The particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter called the PM 2.5 can get deep into that portion of the lungs where gas exchange between inhaled air and the bloodstream occurs. These particles are quite dangerous because they travel to the alveolar portion of the lungs which does not have an efficient means to remove the particles from the passage. Moreover, if the particles are water soluble, then they will eventually pass into the bloodstream.

Decrease in lung function

PM 2.5 can cause aggravation of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases while also causing premature death. The pollution level rises to a great extent during Diwali when firecrackers are burnt, and this gives the PM 2.5 level a big shoot up. People generally develop chronic bronchitis and decreased lung function among other respiratory problems.

The gaseous particles released as a result of burning firecrackers tend to stay suspended in the air. The smaller particles stay suspended for days or weeks and travel farther while the bigger particles known as PM 10 stay suspended in the air for minutes or hours. While PM 2.5 particles travel for hundreds of miles, the PM 10 particles usually travel within a range of 100 yards to 30 miles.

Blockage in the lungs

While inhaling, the particles present in the air enter through our respiratory tract into our lungs. While PM 2.5 is small and passes into our bloodstreams, the larger PM 10 particles get stuck at the sides and the narrow passages of the lungs. Also, some people have the habit of breathing through their mouth. This allows much more particles to enter easily into the deepest portions of your lungs.

Know how you can cope with it

While you enjoy the festive spirit, it is also important to avoid any long-term health issues. So, apart from the time you are into lighting crackers, follow these simple steps to be safe while having fun.

  • When you are on the road travel while wearing a face mask, preferably N95 respirator and roll up your car’s windows.
  • You can also check the air quality index in your neighborhood before stepping out to be sure.
  • It is advised not to exercise outdoors for a few days since the SPM will be high during and after Diwali.
  • Do not let children play outdoors for long hours.
  • Taking garlic and vitamin C rich foods will improve your immune system which can help cope with the situation.
  • If you have any chronic pulmonary diseases such as asthma, additional care needs to be exercised so that the condition does not worsen.

So, this 2017, have a happy and lung-friendly Diwali! Consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hello, Endometriosis can cured by stopping menses ideally. So if you have not conceived yet, then you should be planning sooner and you can be on progesterone only pills to control the amount of bleeding and pain.

Homeopath, Faridabad
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) occurs when very small cysts (small, fluid-filled sacs) develop in the ovaries. The usual symptoms of PCOS are irregular or light periods or no periods at all. This is because, in women with PCOS, ovulation (the release of an egg) may not take place as often as normal. You should opt Homoeopathic treatment, it has cure for PCOS. Treatment is based on totality of symptoms and constitution. It takes time but resolve the disease by root.In pcos first we target to get your periods back to normal.
