This seems to be allergic rhinitis because of which your nose is running a lot, there are very good medicines to treat thsi condition in homeopathy and if you want to use traditional medicine you can use anti-histamines like ceterezine which will give you only temporary relief and homeopathy will have permanent cure, if you want any good, suitable homeo medicine please write back to me.

Singers should remain in their own singing range….If you cross your octave you may injure your vocal cords…Sips of warm water in between two songs will sooth your throat. Also plain water vapour inhalation will help you.

Suffering with hearing loss and tinnitus. Is operation a must or are there any medications to cure it.

Master of Hospital Administration, Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (B.A.S.L.P)

Very lil results you will get from medications. So without a delay test your hearing ability n go for small digital hearing aids if the test reports says so. Do not delay.

Sir can you please suggest what are the cause and prevention and treatment of nasal bleeding n what is the other term for nasal bleeding.

PGDHHM, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Sir can you please suggest what are the cause and prevention and treatment of nasal bleeding n what is the other term...
Nasal bleed is called epistaxis. Common causes are- Allergic rhinitis, exposure to dry air for long, sinusitis, blowing of nose, Trauma etc Treatment depends whether bleed is anterior or posterior. Make the perdon bend forwards and pinch nose for 5/10 minutes .usually bleeding stops. Anterior packing may be required. For posterior bleeds ,too packing is required by a doctor. For prevention, Use humidifiers, if dryness is excessive dryness-use saline nasal drops or vase line. Do not blow vigorously. Get checked by ENT doc to rule out other causes.

My mom is 58 years old. Past few days she's been complaining of a continuous drum like sound from her right ear. Also she's been feeling dizzy every morning as she wakes up from bed. Our physician prescribed her some medications (vertin 16 mg twice a day) and exercises for vertigo. But it is not helping much. Is it an ent problem (inflammation in inner ear?)?

PG Diploma in Emergency Medicine Services (PGDEMS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD - Alternate Medicine
Ayurveda, Ghaziabad
This is because of hypertension. So her blood pressure should be controlled. And start 1-1 drop of cow ghee in both nostrils at night time before sleep. And take ayurvedic medicines like brahmi. Smritisagar ras. And sarpagandha vati morning and evening.

My wife is having a hole in the left ear and having discharge of pus frequently. During treatment with antibiotics discharge is controlled. But after some period same problem is repeating. During consultation with an ent, he suggested for operation and grafting of new ear drum as a permanent remedy. Is this operation is required. Are there any alternative. What are the plus and minus point of this operation. Kindly send a detailed opinion

MS - ENT(Gold Medalist), MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Delhi
It depends on the size of hole. If it is small then there are chances of self healing with conservative management and few precautions but if large and associated with hearing loss one has to go for operation (myringoplasty). Its not a very big procedure and done under local anaesthesia with no major post op complications. First u need to get an audiometry done to know the amount of hearing loss. U can send me the reports.

Eye strain, or asthenopia, is when the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches Eye strain may lead to other problems, such as: • Headaches • Difficulty Concentrating • Irritability • Burning Sensation • Watery Eyes • Dry Eyes • Photophobia • Eye Pain 1. The first thing you can do is change your environment and work habits. By doing this you can relieve the pain without spending money on treatment. If you work on the computer, try taking more eye breaks by looking down the hall or out the window, or by closing your eyes for thirty seconds. You should get your eyes checked at least once a year, especially as you grow older. Routine eye exams give you the opportunity to discuss with your Eye Specialist any issues you may be having, and they may enable you to catch any problems in their early stages. If you work on a computer, taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration.Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) 3 times daily.

Relaxation is the key. Lie on a bed, stomach down, with head turned and arms hanging over the side. Take a deep breath, hold it for 10 to 15 seconds, exhale slowly. After a few repeats, rest for several minutes before you get up. • If you can elicit the help of your partner, stand against the wall and ask your partner to place a fist lightly in the soft area just under your breastbone. Take a few deep breaths, and on the last one, exhale completely. Your partner should then press gently but firmly to help expel air from your lungs.

Treatment. Using a nasal decongestant spray, such as phenylephrine or oxymetazoline, can help relieve sinus infection symptoms short-term. But continuous use over 10 to 14 days can cause a rebound effect in nasal congestion.
