Hllo sir My front teeth is broken 10 years ago I want to change it or want to place any cap on it so it become equal to other give me suggestions Thank you.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.

Sir I feel pressure in my teeth these getting very tight and when I chew something than I pressure in my teeth I think they come closer to each other so sir what can I do.

BDS
Dentist, Meerut
This symptom can be because of your wisdom teeth or some second molar erupting and exerting pressure on other teeth mesial to it. You can take some muscle relaxants to avoid undue pressure while eating and meanwhile show to some dentist for clinical checkup.

How to Fix the Gap between the Teeth?

BDS, PGMHA
Dentist, Bangalore
How to Fix the Gap between the Teeth?

An obvious gap between the teeth may be caused due to a condition known as Diastema. This usually manifests as space between two teeth. This condition is caused due to a mismatch between the size of the bones in the jaw and the size of the teeth. This in turn, gives rise to extra space between the two teeth and may also lead to overcrowding of teeth in the mouth. The space usually occurs when the teeth are too small and the jaw is larger. Also, an oversized tissue known as the labial frenum can cause a gap between two teeth. Let us look at the ways in which this condition can be prevented and treated.

1. Prevention: Not pushing your tongue between the teeth during the teeth growing stage can ensure that this condition does not occur. Children tend to rub their tongue along the jawline when the teeth are growing, whether it is the milk teeth or the permanent ones. This can cause a gap. Also, maintaining good oral health and hygiene can help in preventing this condition. One must brush at least twice a day and floss regularly too, in order to ensure that the gap between the two teeth does not widen.

2. Orthodontic Treatment: Braces are one of the most common ways of fixing this problem. The orthodontic surgeon will usually install these braces,  which will remain in the mouth of the patient for a year or more, depending on the severity of the condition. On a monthly basis, the braces will need to be tightened so that the jaw can facilitate the movement of the teeth to close the gap.

3. Tooth Extraction: In many cases, when the braces are installed, the doctor may also have to remove or extract teeth on the sides to make space for the teeth and their movement. This is usually done when there is a related ailment like overcrowding of the teeth.

4. Crowns and other Dental Installations: Crowns, veneers as well as bonding can help in cases where the lateral incisors may be smaller than what is normal. Also, dental implants or a bridge or even a partial denture may be required in cases where extensive dentistry will be called for.

5. Frenectomy: This surgery can help in closing the gap formed by a large labial frenum.

6. Gum Health: In case there is an infection or any other problem in the gums due to implants or braces, the gum health will have to treated and restored first and then the implants or braces can be reinstalled.

One should also wear retainers for a while after the gap has closed so that it does not appear again.

Bleaching has no harmful effects on your health. Wether bleaching can b done or not depends on your dentition condition. Haan you might feel sensitivity post bleaching but that can b overcome by sensitivity toothpastes.

Have removed two molars. Doctor suggest to implant teeth. What is the cost of implants , advantage and disadvantage ?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Cost of implant cannot say but generally will be 25k. (10k for prosthesis) Advantages: replacement of missin teeth with fixed implant. If you don't have a posterior back tooth for support and are unable to place a bridge, better than the bridge because you don't have to grind the neighbouring teeth. Disadvantages;: cost.

How to remove spots from teeth and get white and shine teeth. Having habit of pan masala.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Get scalling n polishing done by dentist. If you r not happy with your teeth shade later, you can get bleaching done by dentist which'll lighten your teeth by 2-3 shades. Alternatively you can use a teeth whitening toothpaste such as snowdent after scalling. Whitening gels used daily along with customized dental trays provided by dentist r also available in the market. Avoid heavily coloured foods, tea n coffee, cool drinks, smoking n tobacco products as they stain teeth.

There are many causes for ulcers, it might be due to trauma while removing teeth, or may be due to allergy of some medications, or due to hypochlorite which is used in rct etc etc. Consult oral medicine doctor or take second opinion from other dentist (mds)

I have mouth infection some what like ulcer, so that I am unable to eat drink anything, so please tell me which treatment should I take.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

I have a bridge in right side of my upper jaw. Its sensitive now. She'll I remove my bridge and do implantation?

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Hi the bridge that is overlying the teeth either may be poorly fitted or it may have become loose that is why food is getting lodged there thus making your teeth sensitive. So you need to visit your dentist and get that checked. Also you may opt for implant after a thorough eexamination of your opg or xray for that area by an implantologist. Thanku.
