Use regular medicine, don't put any thing in ear. Ear pain in cold is due to nasal blockage so use nasal drops, steam inhalation to relieve blockage which will take care of ear pain. Continue antibiotics for 14 days.

Eggs have nothing to do with baby hair growth. Its upto you, hair bathing has nothing to do with pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. Whatever makes you feel good& happy do it without compromising on hygiene and cleanliness, its good for your baby too. Take care.

If it is not associated with dehydration or weight loss, you need not worry about it. Small frequent stools are normal at this age. If you really want to be sure about it - you may go for microscopic examination of stool in a laboratory. That will confirm the cause.

How Neglect from Parents Affects Your Child?

How Neglect from Parents Affects Your Child?

Parents sometimes tend to neglect their children due to various reasons. However, this negligence influences the children severely. It can affect the development, personality, relationship traits of the children. Every child needs care and love. Parents are naturally the closest people in a child’s world. Negligence from the closest people can lead to destructive character traits in their personality.

1. Attachment problems: One of the primary and direct effects of parental negligence towards children can lead children to be less attached with family. If a child does not get the warmth and care from parents, he automatically detaches from the family bonding and even does not develop the love and compassionate feelings for the family. This pattern hardly changes over time, and it can even lead to problematic relationship of the child in the future. The child may not be able to be close to his own children later.

2. Brain development: Children are tender and sensitive, just like floral buds. Every stimulus has an action. For instance, a child who is affected by malnutrition suffers from weak neural cells. This can be a reason behind weak brain functions. The basic pillars of brain processes, that is, thinking and logical thinking, everything is affected due to parental negligence. It may lead to low level of self-confidence, depression, frustration, anxiety and stress, troubled thoughts and emotional distortions.

Signs of parental negligence in children

1. Eating Disorders

2. Disrupted Sleep

3. Withdrawal from family bonding

4. Aggressive attitude

5. Bed wetting

6. Missing out school

7. Obsessive traits in behavioural patterns

8. Nightmares

9. Sudden change in attitude and behaviours

10. Depression

11. Violence

Every child seeks complete attention and love of his or her parents. However, parents may neglect them due to work stress, social obligations, personal problems and other such reasons. But parents should be considerate about the developmental barriers that could be posed due to this type of negligence. Some children also show eating habit changes, abusive attitude, violence or sometimes even plunge into complete isolation. While children require free scope to let their emotional and mental development boost with social activities, neglected children can withdraw themselves from social activities.

This means no friends, no social activity in life. This is a major reason for depression, suicidal attempts, deformed thought processes and misled lifestyle. As a parent, you can offer your optimum care and affection to your child to avoid such mental distortions, which can be avoided with love and warmth. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult the doctor and ask a free question.

Up to six month solely the child should be on breast fed and then after liquid diet and mashed food should be started. You can give him rice water, pulse water, mashed khichadi, mashed potato and other vegetables, biscuit in milk, mashed fruits, fruit juices, cerelac at this stage. The child should be double of his birth weight at the age of 6 month so check his progress by weighing him.

I am 15 year old male boy I am suffering from asthma from birth how to cure due to tablets I have become fat what is the cure.

DAA, DNB
Pulmonologist, Bangalore
Hi. I understand your concerns. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and pulmonary function test which is needed for diagnosis and also to assess severity of asthma based on which treatemnt can be started. Asthma is chronic and a common problem causing symptoms. Unfortunately it can not be cured but can definitely be controlled so that you can lead a symptom free life. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

My son is 2 year old. He is a very happy, social and fun loving child. He is nauseatic lot many times and even throws up for last 7 to 10 days. I had shown him to his regular paediatric, she said there might be some stomach upset and gave to stop vomiting. It did not help and she changed it to Atarax drops, which didn't help either, so discontinued it after 2 doses after reading on the net that it's a very strong medicine. I referred him to one of the most senior most and reputed paediatric in my city. He said that the child's stomach is absolutely fine no need to give him any medicine, he is just trying to do it to grab your attention, just ignore. I told him most of the time he gets up from his afternoon nap and throws up. He said at times when kids are having anxiety they may do it, just ignore it. I did ignore for 2 to 3 days he was still vomiting (lesser quantity though but 2 to 3 times) . I started with probiotic sachet Reflora-R which has reduced his vomiting and nauseatic feeling a bit but not completely stopped. After vomiting the child is fine just like a normal happy child. Should I show him to a gastroenterologist or is it his anxiety?

If child feels better after vomiting it suggest possibility of gastritis (hyperacidity. If he is fond of eating fried foods like potato chips, kurkure etc then strictly stop this. He will be better within 3 days. If he has any problem in stools (latrine) then do his stool examination from a laboratory. Pain may be due to stool infection.

I am 32 years old. Recently I hv a c section delivered a baby. After that I used some ayurvedic mefic to keep body heat. So now am getting excess dehydration. My total body is burning. Unable to feed baby also am getting fatigue, tired really feeling discomfort. What should I do.

DNB, DGO, MBBS

Please stop this medicine. Continue with your iron and calcium supplements. Drink plenty of fluids like water, coconut water, lassi, milk, soups, fresh juices etc to keep yourself hydrated. If this does not relieve your problems, then you would need to get some blood tests like cbc, tsh etc and meet a gynaecologist.
