1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7. You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8. You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9. Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. Hair care- 1.Some forms of hair loss can be prevented by minimizing stress, eating a healthy diet and using sensible hairdressing techniques, and, if possible, switching to medications that do not cause hair loss 2.When you wash your hair, rinse it well and gently pat the hair dry with a towel. Keep your scalp clean. 3.Use a wide tooth comb. 4.Limit the use of blow dryers, rollers (curlers) , curling or straightening irons to prevent breaking the hair shafts. 5.After washing your hair with a shampoo and conditioner, just before you step out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water for a couple of seconds. This will ensure that your hair cuticles are sealed and the moisture stays put in your hair. 6.If you’ve always wondered how to grow hair faster naturally, the first thing you need to do is trim your hair regularly. This will help keep away split ends that can make your hair look unhealthy and lifeless. Moreover, you should know that the more split ends, the bigger the chances of your hair breaking and falling More elaborate guidance can be given on further discussions. I would be happy to help you and assist in getting over your problem.

When Do You Get Painful Rashes and What Should You Do about it?

MD - Anaesthesiology
Anesthesiologist, Delhi
When Do You Get Painful Rashes and What Should You Do about it?

The most common reason for the occurrence of painful rashes is a condition of the skin known as shingles. It is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is also responsible for causing chicken pox. Shingles, also known as herpes zoster, manifests itself as painful rashes that occur on the skin in the form of a band, a strip or a patch and can even develop into blisters.

What causes this condition to occur?

Once it enters the system, the varicella zoster virus remains dormant in the nerve roots until it is activated. The exact trigger varies from a weakened immune system to nervous inflammation.

The virus spreads from one person to another through aerial transmission or direct contact with the contaminated fluids that are formed inside the rashes and blisters. Any person who has suffered from chickenpox in the past is more prone to this condition. Although shingles is more common in older adults, it also affects children who have not had chickenpox before, as their immune systems are still in the developmental stage and are not effective in providing protection against the virus.

How to alleviate the problem?

There are simple ways of dealing with the problem of shingles for easing the symptoms and reducing pain.

Some of them are as follows:

- The rashes and blisters should not be scratched or picked at.
- Cornstarch or baking soda can be applied to the affected areas to reduce pain.
- Moist and wet compresses can also be used for relieving soreness.
- Anti-inflammatory creams and lotions can be applied for soothing the skin.

In case of severe infection or inflammation, consult a healthcare specialist right away for diagnosis and prescription of antibiotic medication for treating the condition.

How to prevent the virus from spreading?

Once affected, it is important to keep the virus from infecting another person. It requires avoiding contact with those who are at a higher risk of contracting the virus, such as:

- Children who have never had chickenpox
- Pregnant women
- A person who is currently ill
- People with chronic weak immune systems

Start with a three day fast in which you will take only fruit juice 4-5 time every day. Take an enema every day. If you cannot, then drink one cup of spinach juice every day. Steam bath your face. For doing this take a vessel of 2 kg capacity fill half and put on boiling. Take a blanket or at least four folded heavy cloth. Put the boiling water vessel on a table. Cover the vessel with a little over sized lid. Sit on a chair in front of it. Cover your head, shoulders and the steam vessel by the blanket. Now open the lid a little at a time. Let the steam flow to your face. Keep on opening the vessel a little more very slowly. The steam will cause your face to start sweating heavily. Continue till the steam is fully exhausted. Wash your face with cold water. The steam bath has to continued for one week. Then repeat every three days. This will take care of pimples. Please remember the spots once formed can not be removed. For furture eat more salads and fruits. Do not eat fried foods, sugary and spicy foods etc. Do some exercise to bring some sweat on the body.

Believe me, if you are happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin. Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough pineapple juice to make a paste. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Leave it on until the paste dries completely. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy two or three times a week to reduce the appearance of spots on skin.

Silica - this mineral, the most abundant on earth, strengthens collagen which is what supports the hair matrix and accelerates hair growth. Silica is high in fibrous foods which include dark green leafy vegetables. Also beneficial are tomatoes, figs, grapes, apples, berries, onions, and flax seeds. Very high on the list is the skin of cucumbers. Unfortunately, we tend to peel cucumbers for fear of the pesticides that may be on them. Bean sprouts, red peppers, and green peppers are also high on the list.
