I used to workout in gym and I had gained good muscles. It's been 5 months that I couldn't workout due to shoulder injury and undergoing physiotherapy. But overall biceps size has reduced to half compare to my workout size. It's looking too weak now. I can't join gym for next 3 months as shoulder is improving. please throw light on this muscle weakness problem.

Our skeletal structure is truly a work of art however, when we are faced with bone related disorders, our lives is no less than a roller coaster ride. Arthritis is one such ailment which can really alter the quality of life of a person who suffers from it. Taking into account the impact, would it not be good to know the symptoms of early arthritis, so it can be detected before it gets too bad?
There are a few symptoms of the condition, but it is to be noted that the intensity of the symptoms even in the earlier stages of the issue do vary widely. As a matter of fact, the problem can be developing for months on end without a person even knowing that he or she has arthritis while on the other hand, there are quite a few cases in which a person is provided with an almost instant ‘notification’ that arthritis has started having its degenerative impact on his or her joints.
What signs to watch out for?
There are three areas that need attention if trying to detect arthritis:
- Knees: When a person is in the process of developing arthritis, the signs he or she should be aware of include his or her knees being shaped like an outward curve; if he or she is developing the condition in the knee. Apart from this, a limp can also be seen for a lot of people who develop arthritis which affects the joints which bear the weight of the body. The best example of this is a case of arthritis affecting the ankle or the knee.
- Neck: If a person has a near constant pain in the lower back or also of the neck, he or she should be aware of the fact that there could be arthritis developing and it is important for a doctor to be consulted about the same.
- Fingers: In some cases, the signs of arthritis may not even be the cause of pain to a person. This is true when a person begins to develop something such as Bouchard’s node; which affects the fingers when arthritis begins to set in on the digits. These nodes are not painful, in most cases, but, it is to be kept in mind, that they have the ability to limit the motion of the fingers which are affected.
Arthritis is something that can and should be limited to as far an extent as possible, rather than being allowed to worsen a person’s condition and not allow him or her to have the freedom he or she is used to having in life.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical treatment that relieves pain and cures disease through the insertion of very fine needles into the body at specific points.
There are around 500 acupuncture points all over the body. By mapping ‘energy pathways’ throughout the body, acupuncture affects the functioning of certain organs in the body. However, the area that is stimulated by the needle may not necessarily be close to the part of the body where you are experiencing pain.
For example, even though you are suffering from headaches, needles may be inserted in your foot or hand.At your first consultation, an acupuncturist will ask you about your symptoms, your medical history and your health in general. They may also feel the quality, rhythm and strength of the pulses on both of your wrists. It is important that you choose an acupuncturist who is suitably qualified.
WHEN SHOULD I SEE A DOCTOR ABOUT MY BACK PAIN?
Most simple back pain gets better on its own after only a few days. Simple painkillers may keep the pain under control (provided they are used as directed on the dosing instructions). However, you should consult your GP if your pain lasts longer than a week or is as a result of a fall or a blow to the back (e.g. a car accident or sporting injury).
You should also consult your doctor if your back pain is accompanied by any of the following symptoms:
•A high temperature
•Redness or swelling
•Pain down the legs and below the knees
•Numbness or weakness in one or both legs
•Loss of bladder or bowel control (can indicate pressure on the spinal cord).
DIAGNOSING BACK PAIN
In the vast majority of cases, your doctor will be able to work out what’s wrong by examining you and asking you to describe what your back pain feels like. However, one of the biggest problems with pain is that sometimes we do not have the words to describe it.
Rating pain on a scale of 1 to 10 may help you to describe it more easily. If your pain lasts longer than it should, or if your doctor suspects that there may be other reasons for your pain, you may be referred for further tests.
