Hi these patches are just type of lain relivers. It won't have any effect on the disc bulge and it won't get treated. These are temporary measures for your pain. If the disc bulge is severe and compressing on nerve which will then cause pain and weakness in legs then you need to get treated with surgery or start with physiotherapy first.

I have uric acid 0.4 more than required. Due to which some times joint pains. How to control this. Is there any home remedy.

Hi you can dcontrol by diet. You have to go to a dietician or simply cut down your protein intake which will reduce your joint pain eventually. First try doing by diet. Check your uric acid again after a month. If it's not reducing then we can start on some medications with diet. Hope this was useful to you get well soon.

Hi lybrate-useryou need to take your husband to a physiotherapist and ask him to teach him the following exercises which will strengthen the knee joint muscles and neutralise the load on the knee. 1. Hamstrings and quadriceps exercises. 2. Vastus medius obliqus exercises. 3. Knee rom exercises. 4. Ankle pumps. Do these exercises on a regular basis and add on weights to the ankle later and do again the exercises. Let me know how he feels then. Regards

Hi Mr. Lybrate-user after reading your complaints of back ache since 6 month duration with your working style of sitting for long hours, it's most likely a mechanical backache. I wanted to know if the pain is radiating to legs with any numbness in legs or any tingling sensation in foot. You have to focus on your ergonomics like changing in to a comfortable chair. Avoiding long hours of sitting. Your desk to chair distance and other ailments. Most importantly you have to start doing back exercises everyday concentrating more on core abdomen exercises and back strengthening exercises. Medicines will reduce the pain only temporarily.
