It is natural to feel low and miss the person you have lost. However if it is interfering with your sleep, studies or general well being, or if you feel suicidal, you need to consult a psychiatrist. It is common to feel low, cry, feel like you are alone, or lose your self confidence. Usually time is the best healer. However if things are too difficult to handle you should talk to a psychiatrist or counselor. Confide in someone close to you, who will support you in this difficult time. Don't cut off from friends or family, even if you feel like you want to be alone.

You don't mention here that what is the reason of your depression. Any way consult with a psychologist near from you because with some therapies you feel relaxed and get relieved from your depression. You can go for a walk in morning and join any yoga and meditation center which is committed for their work. It will gives you a peaceful mind and a healthy body you can keep your self calm by breathing exercise and give yourself positive affirmations during this exercise like (I AM ENJOYING MY LIFE, I AM A HAPPY PERSON, I AM FULLY RELAXED. Try this and if you any other help you can contact us for telephonic counseling. And for phone for some days say goodbye to your phone and keep it some where and think that you have no need of this phone and you don't want to keep it with you. You can live without this phone. Borderline Personality Disorder: Signs And Symptoms

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is defined as a mood disorder that affects one's interaction and relationships with others. It generally develops during adolescence and persists into adulthood. It has been seen that those with a traumatic history of neglect or emotional, physical or sexual abuse are more prone to developing it. Though it affects people varyingly, these are some symptoms that help diagnose BPD.

1. Emotional instability - 
Intense feelings of rage, sorrow, anger, guilt and emptiness or loneliness are experienced by some sufferers of BPD. Extreme mood swings, lasting for a short span of time, are common in BPD. They may also have issues with their self-image where they cannot place themselves and don't know what they feel about themselves or who they are.

2. Disturbing thoughts - One may experience disturbed thinking and the range of severity is rather wide. One may question his or her existence and need constant reassurance to believe other, or hear voices that tell one to harm oneself or others. In some cases, hallucination and developing delusional beliefs become a common phenomenon that greatly upset the mental condition of the sufferer.

3. Impulsive behavior - Indulging in impulsive behavior is a common sign of BPD. Those suffering from BPD may develop suicidal tendencies and threaten to self-harm. Partaking in risky and irresponsible behavior such as gambling, drinking, drug abuse, having unprotected sex with strangers, going on unrestrained shopping sprees and shoplifting are not uncommon for those with BPD.

4. Intense but unstable relationships - Sufferers of BPD live in a fear of abandonment and feel that the people they love might leave them. They make all possible efforts to prevent being left alone. They may beg, cling and track their loved ones to avoid being left alone. The opposite may also occur and sufferers might feel that they are being smothered by others. This results in actively pushing away loved ones. A combination of these feelings leads sufferers to give out mixed signals which is confusing and often hurts them and their loved ones.

It is said that children are a gift and watching them grow up is one of the most joyful things of life. Having said that, many couples initially feel that having a baby will not change the way things are between them and later find out they are wrong. So how do kids affect the bond between a couple and what can be done to make sure that the strain on the parents is not too much to bear?

Having a baby not only changes the equation between the couple but also, in some cases, the equation between the couple and other friends and family. Many parents do receive a lot of support at the time of the delivery and also receive some initial support on making the shift back home from the hospital. After that, in most cases, you are left to fend for yourselves and you have to iron out the details in front of you as you go. In order to do this in the best way possible, it is very crucial for both the parents of the baby to work as a team.

Questions that you need to answer in an objective and frank manner include those which pertain to who does what for the baby, how you will manage adequate rest as well as how you will divide other activities that need to be carried out around the house.

Quite a few couples who, prior to the baby, have amicable relations end up arguing a lot more after the baby is born. The level of exhaustion and responsibility, which comes as part and parcel of not only looking after oneself and providing a level of care to the partner, but also caring jointly for another human is quite a task.

For many couples, the stress shows by the way of strain. Taking a few deep breaths will help tone down anything, which may spark into an argument and will help you solve your issues in a calm manner. Spending time together while running chores for the baby will help you bond better. Taking time out for each other while the baby is asleep or away to a day care or a school is also very important for maintaining a healthy relationship.

As long as there is an effort to adjust to a new normal rather than struggle to deny change, things may be bumpy initially, but it will definitely work out for the better.

I have anxiety disorder and these days i've been having really bad ache - more like tightening over my left and and center side of the chest. Its only for like 5 to 10 minutes but very painful. There would be shortness of breath and heart palpitations. I constantly also have dry mouth these days - so dry that even my tongue hurts (its not because of the climate because my skin does not feel dry). Im breathless and dizzy with the slightest of work. Occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at work, before taking a test, or making an important decision. But anxiety disorders involve more than temporary worry or fear. For a person with an anxiety disorder, the anxiety does not go away and can get worse over time. You then turn your spine toward the side where the knee is up and use the knee as a rest for your arm as you stretch into the stance. Try not to exhaust yourself. In case you feel pain, relax a bit.
  4. Urdhva dhanurasana (upward bow pose): This stance has been efficient in increasing trust between people with threatening or serious identity issues, and decreases anger. While there are a few approaches to accomplish a back curve in yoga, the upward bow stance is the most widely recognized due to the back twists that lead to better circulation of energy.
  5. Salamba sarvangasana (shoulder stand): It can balance out the nervous system. People who deal with anger issues or who have an antagonistic identity will find that this asana helps in lessening their outrage and anger. Effects of Parental Alienation Syndrome on Children

In many cases; divorce and separation leads not only to bad blood between the parents, but also in a child alienating himself from one parent. Insulting or belittling one parent without justification or under pressure from the other parent is known as parental alienation syndrome. Parental alienation involves one parent undermining the other and interfering with the child’s relationship with the other parent by limiting contact with them, bad mouthing them, forbidding discussion about them etc. This can have a very negative effect on the child’s emotional state.

1. Self hatred: For children, hatred is not inborn, but developed by the situations they are in. By bad mouthing a parent and teaching the child to hate the parent, the child himself is harmed. With time, he begins to internalize this hatred and believe that there is something wrong with him that made the alienated parent not want him.

2. Low self esteem: When a child is not allowed to speak his mind and has to bottle up his thoughts, he becomes socially withdrawn. Often the child begins to feel that he is the cause for the rift in the family and makes himself responsible for the separation. This intensifies with time and makes the child lose confidence in himself leading to low self esteem.

3. Lack of trust: When a child is suddenly pulled away from one parent and told how that parent is not a ‘good person’ the child is likely to feel betrayed. This creates a sense of doubt in the child’s mind and makes it difficult for him to trust other people. As he grows up, this can affect his own adult relationships as well.

4. Depression: Depression is a commonly seen in children from broken homes and this is intensified in cases of parental alienation. It is rooted in the child’s feeling unloved by either one of the parents and built up by the separation. Not being given a chance to speak about their feelings or talk about the situation makes them more depressed and they begin to withdraw into themselves. In many cases, it is noted that alienated children have strained relationships with their own children as well.

5. Substance abuse: Depression is one of the most common triggers for substance abuse. Alienated children often feels trapped and that they have no outlet to vent their feelings and frustrations. This often makes them turn towards drugs for relief and can make them victims of substance abuse.

Hi lybrate-user! He is suffering fro some kind of emotional trauma may be loss, failure or insecure feeling. You need to take him to a Psychoogist at your locality who would closely analyse what exactly his problem is and completely change him into a normal peaceful individual. It would be better if you could take him as soon as possible before it worsens. Take care of him.

There is a inferiority complex! That when I know that somebody has more knowledge than me or is much smarter than me so while talking to that person I stammer a lot. And people make fun of me. And 1 or 2 ppl with whom I am really close and open, then I don't stammer and speak properly. Please help.

You need to take medication as per your doctor's recommendation. Do not discontinue, alter, modify or change it in any way. Take it for the prescribed period of time. Premature termination of treatment can lead to relapse or worsening of symptoms. It becomes more difficult to treat after that.

Understanding Anxiety:

A vague unpleasant emotion that a person experiences in anticipation of some misfortune that might take place.
Anxiety is normal and adaptive state as it helps us prepare for danger.

Therefore, we must learn to manage anxiety. It can be problematic when we feel such in spite when there is no real danger.

Panic attacks are the body’s response to defend itself (for instance, our heart beats faster to pump blood to our muscles so we have the energy to run away or fight off danger).

Anxiety attacks are harmless, although you feel very uncomfortable and or scary. You might feel like you are dying or going crazy, but you are not. And these feelings are similar in your body if you were facing a real physical threat.

These attacks lasts only 5 to 10 minutes with peak intensity, although they sometimes feel like they go on forever. As they takes away lot of energy a feeling of exhaustion is experienced once it’s over.

 

Managements:

  • Relaxing Technique

  1. Calming yourself – Learn to breathe softer and easier to reduce some of the symptoms during an attack.

  2. Relaxing your body- Learn to set your body tense free – this can be done by tensing your muscles and then relaxing – this lowers overall tension and stress levels during a panic attack.

  • Positive Thinking - First identify what afraid you – note them down for instance “It will hurt me , I will die, It might remain long and forever etc., Pen them down and practice to overcome that situation.

  • Avoid overestimating about the things that may occur to you.

  • Facing the challenge – Most important step of managing anxiety is to face what fears you the most like unpleasant bodily sensation associated with attacks, avoiding situations, places, activities and so on.

  • In order to overcome these sensation and individual needs to repeatedly bring on the sensation that fears them so that over time those sensations have no longer effects to anxious.

Learning to manage anxiety requires Practise and bravery and is much like an exercise. Don't be discouraged when you start with it, as coping with anxiety is a lifelong process.

Hi, Thanks for writing in, welcome to the forum. These could potentially be signs of depression. But it is also possible that there are other explanations to it. Depression can be of many different types, sometimes obvious, sometimes disguised. Sometimes it may be in response to life situations and sometimes just out of the blue. Sometimes, what appears to be depression can be a manifestation of medical conditions of varied causation such hormonal disturbances, anemia, nutritional deficiencies and many more. Many a time, such a state can be result of the adverse effects of medicines taken for some other purposes like tuberculosis. So with the limited information about you available to me, I can certainly say that a possibility of depression exists and needs to be evaluated, but I cannot confirm the same without evaluating.
