Having pain Is not normal so you Need to evaluate the cause of pain. Pain in teeth can be due to tooth decay or due to inflammation in gums. For tooth decay depending upon the depth of decay you may have to get it filled or you may hav to opt for root canal treatment. This can be confirmed by an X-ray. Gum related problem occurs when there is spacing in teeth leading to food lodgement and causing pain in that area. For temporary relief you can have any pain killer which suits you and do some warm saline rinses but please consult your doc and get the problem diagnosed so as to have permanent relief.

If your swelling is adjacent the tooth that wuz rc treated then either the tooth has been reinfected or maybe you have inflammation in your gums. U will have to get this checked by an X-ray. If your tooth is infected and you may then have infected tissue In it which can yes effect the surrounding bone too.In this case you may have to get a re rct done. If it's an inflammation in your gums you can then get a professional cleaning done and yes even in this case depending upon the degree of inflammation you may have bone loss which can worsen if left untreated. please consult your doc and get your problem diagnosed asap.

4 Reasons You Need A Root Canal Treatment!

4 Reasons You Need A Root Canal Treatment!

Having your dentist say to you that you need a root canal, can be a daunting affair. This means that the pulp or soft tissue inside a tooth has been damaged by bacterial infection. A root canal involves removing the damaged pulp, cleaning the infection and filling in the emptied space. Not every tooth infection requires a root canal and hence it is essential to know the indication of a root canal.

Here are a few situations when a root canal may be needed:

  1. Pain: Discomfort ranging from a dull ache to a sharp pain can be a sign that you need root canal treatment. This type of pain is usually characterized by throbbing and may change as you switch positions. It is usually triggered by chewing, applying pressure on the tooth or eating something cold or hot. In some cases, the patient may not be able to indicate the exact tooth that is hurting but can only identify the painful area.
  2. Gun tendernessSwelling that indicates the need of root canal treatment can range from being slightly red and inflamed to pronounced lumps on the gums. In some extreme cases, this swelling may extend out of the gums into the face and neck region. Sometimes, a pus filled boil with a pimple like head may also form on the gums. If this head bursts, the patient may notice a foul taste in the mouth. This swelling can come and go as the tooth decay deteriorates and may or may not be accompanied by pain. Teeth may also feel like they have been pushed out of their sockets and are taller than usual.
  3. Tooth discolouration: Discolouring of teeth can be a sign of internal tooth damage. This is especially noted if the teeth take on a dark yellow, grey or blackish tint. Tooth discolouration is fairly common in cases where the tooth has undergone trauma such as an accident etc.
  4. Exposure of the dental nerves: At times during regular dental work, the nerves in the tooth may be exposed. This indicates an exposure of pulp tissue and can trigger pulp degeneration if left untreated.

However, all of the above symptoms can be symptoms of other types of dental problems as well and do not necessarily individually indicate the need for a root canal. Only a dentist can properly diagnose a need for root canal treatment after a physical examination and testing. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dentist.

I want to straighten my one front tooth, can it happen and how much time and cost it takes?

I want to straighten my one front tooth, can it happen and how much time and cost it takes?
Time and cost depends on how severe is your problem and what treatment is required in your case since every case is unique. Mostly orthodontic braces will cost you more and duration will be more sometimes from 1.5 to 2.5 years in severe cases. Other cosmetic treatment will be of few hours duration and much more cheaper than braces. But without clinical visualization of your problem, no one can tell what treatment will be best and suitable for you.

Unfortunately no home remedies will work to shorten your teeth. The only wat to get it done is to visit a dentist. He/ she may grind your teeth if your problem is within limits. If more than that you may have to undergo some constructive cosmetic therapy like composites, laminates or veneers.

Hi. Gum bleeding happens commonly due to Vit C deficiency. Increase intake of Vit C in your diet. You should have more citrus fruits & green leafy vegetables. Increase Lemon intake too. If bleeding still continues then you should seek a dentist's opinion for any kind of underlying infection & treat it accordingly. Have a happy healing. :)

How to know that teeth has cavity on it and how much teeth is reduced during drilling for removing cavity.
The signs and symptoms of cavities vary, depending on their extent and location. When a cavity is just beginning, you may not have any symptoms at all. As the decay gets larger, it may cause signs and symptoms such as: Toothache, spontaneous pain or pain that occurs without any apparent cause Tooth sensitivity Mild to sharp pain when eating or drinking something sweet, hot or cold Visible holes or pits in your teeth Brown, black or white staining on any surface of a tooth Pain when you bite down Treatment of cavities depends on how severe they are and your particular situation - A normal filling would suffice.

Sir I have problem off teeth related to teeth cavity sir please suggest mi maximum anti cavity tooth paste immediately.
Hi, Dental cavity is a very common issue now a days. There is no such anti cavity toothpaste in the market, only your regular two times brushing and flossing, Eating healthy foods like fruits, green vegetables etc, Limiting the consumption of acidic foods and beverages like tea and coffee, fizzy drinks etc and most important Limiting the consumption of sticky foods like pizza, chocolates, toffee etc. Look for a fluoridated toothpaste as fluoride plays an important role in keeping your tooth healthy. Visit your concerned dentist every 6 months so your oral diagnosis can be done and treatment can be planned accordingly. Regards.

What is permanent or temporary teeth capping and how much is cost for 1 teeth capping in temporary and permanent.

Dentist, Delhi
What is permanent or temporary teeth capping and how much is cost for 1 teeth capping in temporary and permanent.
A temporary cap is made of acrylic which is usually placed for a shot duration till the permanent is fabricated. These can be made chairside or can be made in dental laboratories. The ones fabricated in labs cost more than the ones made chairside. The permanent are made of ceramic or nickel chromium alloy or a combination of both. Permanents are more definite way more costly than the temporary. Full ceramics again are the more expensive than combinations caps. Dnt be focused on the price ,invest in a longer and better. Solution else you may end up paying more by paying multiple times.

Tooth Sensitivity

BDS
Dentist, Navi Mumbai
Tooth Sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity is something that affects a number of people. It is often caused by eating or drinking something hot, cold, sweet or acidic. Under normal conditions, the underlying dentin of the tooth (the layer that immediately surrounds the nerve) is covered by the enamel in the tooth crown, and the gums that surround the tooth. Over time, the enamel covering can get thinner, thus providing less protection. The gums can also recede over time, exposing the underlying root surface dentin.
The dentin contains a large numbers of pores or tubes that run from the outside of the tooth to the nerve in the center. When the dentin is exposed, these tubes can be stimulated by changes in temperature or certain foods.

What causes it?

Exposure of the dentin can occur due to a number of factors. Some of the more common reasons are:

  • Gum recession due to age or improper tooth brushing.
  • Acidic beverages (such as soda) that cause enamel erosion and dentin exposure.
  • Tooth grinding : this may actually cause most or all of the teeth to feel sensitive.
  • Brushing with a very abrasive toothpaste, brushing incorrectly and/or brushing more than three times a day could result in a loss of enamel.
  • Gum disease, which can result in gum recession.
  • A chipped or fractured tooth may expose the dentin.

In addition, some dental treatments can cause sensitivity. Treatments such as such as teeth whitening, professional dental cleanings, having braces put on or getting a filling placed have been known to cause sensitivity during or after the procedure.

What can I do about it?

The first step in doing something about dental sensitivity is to find out what the cause is – a dental professional can help you with this.

If the sensitivity is due to a cavity, a restoration can be placed. If gum disease is the cause, the dental professional can perform a thorough cleaning of the area.

If the sensitivity is due to exposed dentin, there are a number of steps you can take, as can your dental professional, to help reduce the sensitivity. These can include:

  • At Home:
    • Use a very soft bristle tooth brush, with low abrasive tooth paste.
    • Brush correctly and do not over brush.
    • Use a tooth paste specially formulated to soothe the nerve endings in the tooth.
    • Use a high concentration fluoride toothpaste (given to you by the dental professional) to strengthen the tooth surface.
  • The dental professional can:
  • In Office Procedures:
  • Fluoride varnish can be applied to exposed areas, strengthening the enamel and dentin.
  • Fluoride foam or gel can be placed into a mouth tray; you then sit with this in your mouth for 3-5 minutes, providing the teeth with a high concentration of fluoride to strengthen the areas.
  • Bonding agent, the material used to stick tooth colored restorations to teeth, can be used to seal the dentin surface and provide a barrier to the stimuli that cause sensitivity.

In the end, whether you need an in-office procedure or over-the-counter products, the most important step is to see a dental professional so that he or she can determine the cause of the tooth sensitivity and help you find a solution that will work.
