It happens when you get your teeth cleaned not very often. That causes tartar accumulation which damages the gums and the underlying bone. The gap is primarily because your gums with bone have gone down. If the gap is small, keep it clean and gums may grow back to close this gap. But if the gap is more then consult a periodontist a gum specialist and get proper treatment.

Hello lybrate-user.
Both lingual and ceramic braces has there own pros and cons. Lingual sounds good boy is very tough to maintain. As it bother with tongue placement as well. You will get ulcers most of the time. And the cost for lingual is all quite a bit more. Go for a self ligature ceramic one. They are easy to go with. Comfortable as well. And dude dnt wrry much about the esthetic. If you think more it will bother more. It z nt a life time thing. Tcr
Thank you :)
