How Ayurveda Helps Manage Weight Loss?

Nothing is more disappointing than a failed attempt to lose weight and the constant struggle to shed the flab. Sometimes, best results can be achieved by making simple changes to your lifestyle, including your eating habits without being emotionally and physically stressed. If you have to lose weight, you might as well enjoy the process and do it in a healthier way. Following are ayurvedic tips for a healthier and systematic weight loss:

1. Hot water

Hot water combined with lemon juice and ginger or herbal teas acts as a natural detox. Sip on hot water throughout the day to cleanse your entire internal system from impurities and blockages. It helps to improve digestion and staves off hunger in between meals. It is one of the easiest ways to lose weight and stay healthy at the same time. It is advisable to drink boiled water as it is considered to be more effective than hot water.

2. Eat warm and cooked foods for lunch

Your lunch should consist of warm and cooked foods as they are easily digestible and provide the right amount of nutrients for your body. You can include a variety of cooked food in your lunch because the body metabolism gets adequate time to process the food. Eating cold food has a reverse effect on your body as they lead to weight gain. Avoid a diet consisting of only carbohydrates and proteins as they do not nourish your body but simply make you crave for food in between meals. Instead go for green vegetable and lean protein.

3. Light evening meal

The body metabolism and digestion slows down as you reach the end of the day so it's recommended to have light evening meals. Heavy meals in the evening are often poorly digested and accumulate as excess fat. All your efforts of weight maintenance throughout the day goes in vain if you eat a meal of processed foods or foods rich in refined carbohydrates. It is recommended to eat a vegetarian meal or a meal consisting of complex grains like brown rice. Avoid binging on leftovers and high calorie desserts.
 
4. Exercise

It goes without saying that exercise is a key to a healthy mind and body. Do away with a sedentary lifestyle as that is one of the primary causes of weight gain. If you don't have time to workout it will help even if you take a walk daily. Exercise will not only help you to lose the extra kilos but will keep your energy up and increase your body's metabolism. It also improves bone and muscle health.

5. Honey 

Honey with equal amont of water daily in the morning in empty stomach also helps weight loss.

I am having issue with my bladder. during night my bladder has no control and lets out urine. This has happened twice. Please suggest remedy.

I had a good body in past suddenly I stopped exercising for about 1 year now my weight is 90 kgs and I started gaining but there is no change in me my weight is the same what should I do to reduce my weight and get in good shape.

Sir I am suffering from a problem from last few years I am unable to control my sex pleasure as a result which led me to masturbation daily as a result I am feeling uncomfortable full day sir pleas help me any ayurvedic process or any suggestion how can I control it.

First under stand that doing masturbation is not a wrong thing. But self control is a must sexual urge is natural. Do regular exercise, if possible try meditation, avoid seeing or reading sexual related things Try to socialise ,avoid sitting aloneand when getting more thinking of sex try to go out to change the thought etc will help.

I am 35-year-old female. I have two kids by normal delivery. I am suffering from heavy bleeding during period. First day morning I have to change my pad every 2 hrs till 2-3 pads, then change every 5-6 hrs till third day. Total 5-6 days I have period. I also have too much pain on first day. I feel weakness, drowsiness for three days.

I have very very thin hair female baldness. M using hard water. Last 3 years I was in hostel so due to water of hostel I have hair fall at that time .i used keshking oil. That time. Now due to care of my hair it get decrease. But I want to regrow of my hair .please advice me Dr. please.

Dear lybrate-user Hair may fall due to problems in bathing water which may not be suitable to your hair. Many hair tonic are available in the market. Try to use kunthalakanthi thilam regularly and take chavanaprasam 20gms twice daily. Apply thilam to hair half an hour before bath and massage the head so that oil will go all the places. Surely hair will grow.

Last week my sugar level was 238 fasting and​ yesterday it showed 128. What is the reason for this fluctuations even though I don't take any medicines.

Late night food with more sugar content may give rise to fasting sugar. Take dinner before 8 o'clock and check next morning. Time to give for full digestion.

I have a pain in my calf muscles since 5 years. I have taken many Medicines of vitamin, calcium etc. But no relief. I have a uric acid level of 8.

I gave birth to daughter on 28 Feb 2017. But my breast milk is not enough. After drinking she cries and on pumping I get only 20 ml .how can I increase my milk production.
