lybrate-user, TSH level is too high, it means hypothyroidism is not in control. When on treatment with adequate dose of thyroxine, the recommended TSH levels are between 3 to 4 mU/L. If levels are higher then most of the symptoms reappear. It is clear that the dose being taken (100 mcg) is inadequate. It has to be increased by at least 25 mcg. Then you will have to check TSH after 6 weeks ti see if the additional dose has helped in reducing the TSH level. Thanks.

Dear , what is your fasting blood sugar? what is your last hba1c. Depending upon that we can decide how well your sugar control is and whether the medications are adequate or not. Further more since you are diabetic you should be on aspirin and atorvastatin.

I am 37 year male I have suffering last 7 years in sugar problem please solution this problem.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am 37 year male I have suffering last 7 years in sugar problem please solution this problem.
Dear lybrate-user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the bloodstream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. The failure of utilisation of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells results in production of less energy than normal condition. This is externally manifested as the fatigue & tiredness of the patient. This excess amount of blood sugar compels the kidney to function more than normal level in order to excrete the blood sugar molecules through urine. As a result the patient suffers from frequent urination. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. However, the patient does not need to take medicine unless his/her post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200. If post. Prandial blood sugar level reaches 200 then patient can take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnema sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with intake of medicines the patient need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. In order to decrease the intake of carbohydrate in diet the patient should avoid rice, sweet dishes, fruits, cold drinks, fast foods, alcoholic beverages, potato etc.

My father is 78yrs old, he is having severe burning sensation in stomach, so pl guide us, before giving any guidance ...
The reasons for burning pain in epigastric & hypochondriac region could be many. But invariably such a symptom may occur due to excess acidity and or peptic ulcer. But since he has cardiac problems sometimes those conditions also mimic such symptoms. So it is better to consult your local physician. If simple excess acidity is there then that can be controlled by using drugs called proton pump inhibitors, on empty stomach.

Doctor, am suffering from thyroid for the past six years. Now am taking tablet thyronorm 75 mcg for the past more than one year and I test thyroid every six months. This Sunday I tested my thyroid at Lister Lab and the results are as below: T3-2.15,T4-0.91,TSH-7.24. TSH obviously has gone up. Kindly advice if I need to change my medication. Thanks and regards Meenu Krishna.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

To keep hypothyroidism in check, TSH should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L. Then all the symptoms are also in control. Since TSH level is 7.24 mU/L, there is a need to increase the dosage of thyroxine to at least 87.5 mcg, then check TSH after 6 weeks, to see if desired levels are achieved, if not then dose may have to be increased to 100 mcg. Thanks.

I am writing the answer as a pathologist , so would not be able to comment on treatment part , but yes most of your problems seem to be related to high sugar levels, which is also not controlled. Secondly, your cholesterol levels are on higher side and you would need to recheck that . Give a sample after 12 hours of fasting only. You may need to take medicines for that also. Is your BP on control ?

Hello Ms. lybrate-user Insulin doesn't create allergies. You must be having allergy problems before also, but they may have increased by now, due to diabetes. Get CBC, ESR done. We need to see your investigations and discuss your problem in detail. I can't write medicines here without proper diagnosis. Kindly consult me in private for complete treatment. Thank u.

Hi I am a diabetic n under insulin control need to ask here how to increase my weight as I just 50 kg right now.
Mr Iqbal, Thanks for the query. Looking at your weight and height, you are having a BMI of 21.6 kgs/M2, which is marginally less. Your ideal body weight can be about 52 to 53 kgs. To increase weight first thing is to achieve a strict blood glucose control with fasting closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. If this is achieved, then proper nutrition and exercise will help in gaining weight. Thanks.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if blood glucose is high, (well over 200 to 300 mg/100 ml) then a considerable amount of glucose is lost in the urine. That causes weight loss. Once diabetes is controlled and blood glucose levels return to normal, weight stabilses. You may have lost weight when blood glucose level was not well controlled. If now it is in good control, weight may not be lost. So please give current details including hba1c% (actual number, do not say it is normal). Even other test results like tsh and thyroid hormone levels. Looking at those details I may be able to guide. Thanks.
