7 Everyday Healthy Habits We All Must Follow!

Eating healthy food item like fruits, green leafy vegetables, salad etc. We have always been hearing this from our elders about how a healthy body is key to a healthy mind. Trying to define health in a sentence is possible, but not justifiable because it is an umbrella term for a lot of aspects of our life. Being healthy is that state of our existence where we are happy, content and at the epitome of our fitness. Life is too short to fret over things that make us unhappy, so taking decisions that would make us content mentally and physically is the first step to attaining a healthy lifestyle. Now, one could easily start a debate here stating how eating unhealthy food or indulging in unhealthy habits also make people happy. Yes, they do, but that is a momentary gratification and with one single life, it is essential to think long-term.

This article will have certain tips that could help an individual fall right on track if he/she wants to jumpstart their healthy lifestyle.

  1. Eating healthy food items, should not feel or look like restriction. It should be a mentality, a lifestyle rather than being a meaningless difficult regimen.
  2. In order to avoid unhealthy snacking, it would be a good idea to keep those kinds of food away from the visual arena.
  3. It is not necessary to entirely cut off the love for sweets. It would be great to eat strategic sweets like dark chocolate to fulfil the cravings and not feel guilty about it.
  4. Carrying homemade lunch is a very good idea to keep oneself away from unhealthy restaurant food. The best part about this is that a lot of money is saved.
  5. Proper strategies can definitely get us going. For example, the veggies we eat do not necessarily need to be tasteless. In fact, adding some spices or sauces (made from vinaigrette and different seasonings) can not only make the food taste great, but also help bring out the innovations inside us.
  6. One great way we can keep ourselves motivated is by talking about the dietary plans and goals with a friend and discussing the major healthy lifestyle changes that have already been taken care of.
  7. Keeping a journal about the progress and also rewarding oneself on reaching small goals are amazing ways to keep going.

Hi Dr. My wife is 4 month pregnant and have stones in both kidneys and one 11 mm stone block the urine in left kidney. But at that time she is fine, if any time she gets pain what pain killer recommended to eat.

Whatever medicine given to your wife get sure that medicine is safe for pregnancy and not cause any side effect on fetus. So, always do follow -up while taking medicine during pregnancy for stone or any other diseases.

No one can predict time! but with only one tube it id advisable that you undergo advanced tretment with uge monitoring, ovulation stimulation and iui at the beginning.

Pain in the joint is an eventuality that only few can escape. It is an ailment that comes with age and promises to stay despite continued attempts at eradicating it. Being a problem that many are battling, it has provoked attempts at treating it. Various disciplines of medicines have tried in their own ways in dealing with this problem, but Ayurveda with its strict reliance on natural products and aversion to chemicals has been most preferred.

The various ways by which Ayurveda treats joint pains are:

  1. Massage: Ayurveda focuses on massages as a remedial measure. Using few herbal oils and using them to massage regularly on the affected joints has been an accepted remedy for joint pains. A massage promotes blood circulation and creates a calming effect.
  2. Hot and cold compresses: The effectiveness of this form of treatment has remained prevalent through generations. Extremely convenient and easy to use, you can use hot and cold compresses alternatively to ease the pain.
  3. Fenugreek: Fenugreek seeds have a long standing reputation of relieving you of pain. Boasting of antioxidant properties and the ability to reduce swelling, they must be finely grounded and swallowed with lukewarm water to enjoy best results.
  4. Turmeric: In the hierarchy of Ayurvedic medications, turmeric probably ranks the highest. It is packed with multiple benefits. Not only does it take care of the skin, it also helps in reducing joint pains. The most common way of having it is by mixing turmeric in a glass of warm milk and honey.
  5. Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar reduces joint pains by effectively eliminating the accumulated toxins. It is rich in magnesium and phosphorus and owing to its alkalizing effect, it has the ability to cure rheumatism.

Hello- There are few general pregnancy diet rules that mothers can follow. Throughout the day the mommy-to-be should eat every now and then, preferably 5 times a day - three regular meals and two small meals or snacks during the day. Consuming products prepared from whole grain like chappatis, breads, pasta and noodles. Just as a lay person it is important to consume five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables. One should continue this habit even after pregnancy. Cut out high calorie food and fatty foods too. This would include consuming low calorie dairy products and lean non veg ingredients. It is advisable to reduce the intake of sugary food products. Increase in blood sugar levels could increase your chances of gestational diabetes. Healthy eating during pregnancy means avoiding these food ingredients and products: - Alcohol - One of the reasons is that, even moderate drinking in pregnancy may affect child's IQ. - Avoid calorie rich food, food cooked in oil, poultry with fat on it. - Avoid drinking preserved or packaged juices, it contains additional sugar and preservatives. - Lastly, remember your diet has to be well balanced.

Chances of pregnancy are always higher when you have unprotected sex wait for your next period in july and if it overshoots your last date then go in for urine test for pregnancy.

Hi Perform the test once again. If negative then you can either visit a gynecologist to confirm, or get an ultrasound to confirm, or get the HCG levels tested to confirm. Delay in periods may be due to the stress.

Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

Chewing Your Food Properly - Why it is Important?

You probably do not think much about chewing while eating your food. Chewing is indeed important for your health. Well, this simple behaviour of chewing your food properly helps in proper digestion, absorption of essential nutrients and keeps several diseases at bay. When you chew your food properly, your body gives out digestive enzymes which break the large particles into smaller ones. Smaller particles are easy for you to digest.

If your food is not properly digested you can suffer from many digestive issues like bloating, stomach pain, indigestion, headache, constipation and also exhaustion. The number of times you are actually supposed to chew your food depends on the type of food you are eating. Softer food items break down easily and are also easy to digest. You should at least chew these food products 5-10 times before swallowing. Dense food takes time to break down and hence is difficult to digest. You should chew them about 30 times before swallowing. You can also take the package for Eating Right.


The benefits of chewing your food properly

  1. Easy digestion and exposure to saliva: Chewing your food for a longer time helps your food to come into direct contact with your saliva.   3. Chewing helps to keep weight under check: To chew food properly you must eat consciously and when you slow down, you are instantly eating less. This simple process prevents you from overeating and helps you to avoid any excess weight gain.
  4. Chewing helps to prevent any kind of bacterial growth: Your food most of the time contains bacteria and saliva helps in killing some of them. So if you are eating longer and slower, it gets time to kill the bacteria which might affect your digestive process.
  5. Chewing gives you time to taste and enjoy your food: Properly chewing every morsel of your food lets you taste and enjoy the food you are eating which helps you in staying fit and healthy.
