My kid 7 years old having tonsils and right no problem with that to him but how it will be cured.

Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Delhi
Try to control the food he eats. Any thing which causes throat irritation or allergy or infection or inflammation should be avoided. Any thing which is very cold or spicy or having masala powder in it like chips should be avoided. After the age of twelve tonsils automatically starts to regress.

I am 25 years old man. I have nervous cough. I cough a lot when I get excited. Please help.

General Physician, Nashik
There are some short-term remedies to consider. Here are a few: breathing in a more relaxed and regulated manner can prevent a dry throat and the coughing that can result from it. Reducing your body's stress as much as possible can reduce anxiety cough relatively quickly. Working at containing your anxious thinking can reduce stress responses and your body's overall reaction to elevated stress.

I am suffering from last 4 years in asthma only 2,3 months use to madicen. Salbiar - b transialar.
Dear Lybrate User, Asthma is preceded by the production of histamines in the blood. Histamine is produced due to the entrance of foreign particles in the body. The triggering cause behind the onset of asthma varies in every patient. A detailed case taking along with some blood test results are required to diagnose the proper underlying cause behind asthma. Please conduct a laboratory test of your blood for TC, DC, ESR & IgE. Revert back with the results & consult me privately via Lybrate. In the mean-time you can take Homoeopathic Mother Tincture GRINDELIA ROBUSTA Q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

Hi My name is Himanshu My age is 27, Almost from last 5 years I've smoke 3-4 cigarette daily (average), Now I'm feel to much exhausted and breathless when use steps (20-25), moving heavy objects (my own luggage), after a short walk (500M-1000M Only) and all continue efforts. I'm ready to quit smoking but I want to improve me lung capacity little fast with help of some diet chart, light medicines and another expert advice.

Hi My name is Himanshu My age is 27, Almost from last 5 years I've smoke 3-4 cigarette daily (average), Now I'm feel ...
It is not enough to quit smoking, which is in itself an excellent thing, but now you must do something to return your ravaged body, mind, and brain back to a healthy state. Depending on when you quit and how much you have smoked, it will take time for your health to revert to old times. To hasten it you must do some effective things immediately. The breathing problem probably indicates that you have already damaged your lungs from years of smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing in the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

Age 25. I have asthma. So please let me know how to reduce this asthma? It's level 2nd.
Asthma is curable completely with ayurved no matter of level. Vaman is very effective in that case. Or you can directly go with suvarna rasayan treatment. Do's 1) close windows at night to avoid pollens 2) take regular medicines 3) do exercise and pranayama daily 4) diet should be healthy 5) keep bedroom clean and dust free 6) regular checkup at clinic 7) use a light color to wall as well curtains.(especially bedroom) 8) dinner should be taken before sunset. 9) use mask while going out or apply coconut oil to nostrils 10) carry inhaler all the time (emergency) 11) massage to the chest and back warm with oil, afterward take hot fomentation. Don'ts 1) smoking -active or passive 2) exposure to allergens air pollution 3) avoid visit to gardens 4) stop the self medication. Paracetamol also increases the risk of asthma by 27 %. 5) avoid outside food 6) avoid preserved packed food 7) oily food should be avoided 8) cold drinks and ice-creams. Asthma = https://www. I have always had a blocked nostril since many years & sinus problem every once in a while, so what are the ways of its treatment?

Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO), MBBS
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Your symptoms are suggestive of a deviated nasal septum / enlarged inferior turbinates. These two are responsible for the sinus openings to get blocked & thereby leading to a sinus involvement. The sinus openings have to be open for the sinuses to be well aired. Get a ct scan of the sinuses to rule out which sinus is involved. A nasal endoscopy will pin point where exactly is the problem. This will be done by the ent surgeon. A medical or surgical line of treatment will be advised as per the findings on a nasal endoscopic examination.

Hi, first and foremost, I would advise you to use your inhalers regularly as advised by your doc/ pulmonologist. Simultaneously, you need to figure out the allergen (s) that trigger your asthma. Dust, smoke, pollen, fungi, animal hair, insects, certain food items like wheat, egg, chocolates, flesh foods etc, cold/ hot air, stress, acidity et al are common allergens that might precipitate asthma and the triggers vary from person to person. So, once you identify the right trigger, try your level best to avoid the same. Secondly, make sure your diet/ nutrition, lifestyle including bowel habits etc all are streamlined. You may take a good multi-vitamin with all essential b-vitamins, vitamin c, d, e, omega-3 fatty acids, and the essential trace elements including zinc, magnesium etc all. Learn to relax and keep your stress levels low. Its advisable to eat in moderation and less than your full capacity than eating to your full. Try avoiding tea, coffee, spices, chilies, pickles, extremely hot & cold/ chilled foods. Do consume citrus fruits/ vegetables rich in vitamin c as they help strengthen your immunity. Warm saline gargling, at least once daily, shall help protect you from throat related afflictions that often trigger asthma in certain people. Mostly, fresh air, dry climate, regular exercise go a long way in helping avert precipitation of an attack. Daily consumption of ginger tea helps a lot too, unless you are allergic to it. Inhaling the scent of honey during an asthma attack helps breathe easier. Learning well & practicing yogasanas/ postures and breathing techniques/ pranayams help streamline/ regulate breathing patterns, and increase the airflow to the lungs, increases its air capacity, exercises the respiratory muscles etc, thereby improving the lung function overall. It also helps de-stress and relax thereby facilitating breathe easily, and properly. It is advisable to learn the techniques/ asanas from a trained person who can advise rightly in line with your medical conditions/ requirements.
