Dear lybrate-user, memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. Take care.

Hi sir/madam, This on behalf of my friend who am I want to marry her. In her past life she had a love with other person. When they're in love he got married with other girl by force of his family. Unfortunately he had distill myopathy, so his wife given divorce to him. And he stated to my Friend that I loved you and I leave her with the same reason. And they are in love back but she wants to help him and settle his life. I explained her the way of problems you have to face if y want to Marry him. After that she left him. Now presently I want to marry her and she is my childhood friend. And our families are friends . From my family side I made accepted for her to marry. Now she is saying that if I marry you I feel my self awkwardly if he this my ex knows. And I am preparing her to change her wrong thinking thoughts. I dint have this is as a problem to me. Could you please suggest her whom she should marry . Whether I would be or else her parents decided? You have mentioned that you are suffering from stress, which in itself can disturb your sleep. Instead of worrying too much about causes and medicines, why don’t you implement some of my suggestions, because they work effectively if implimented fully. The lack of sleep, i.e. Sleep for less than 6 hours per night, is directly linked to about 86 diseases! So let us first focus on that. In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i.e. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. Pray last thing at night before you sleep.

Dear, You must be able to understand Concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Dear, there is no need to take the extreme step. This problem can be cleared just by alerting him. You cannot do that because he justifies himself and will confront you. Let some trained psychologist do the alerting job. Some how take him to a psychologist. If you desire so, I can also provide my services through mobile or through online. Tips to reduce anxiety and stress 1. Sleep well and regular. Irregular sleep can have some serious consequences. It affects both our physical health and also contributes to anxiety and stress. Anxiety as such also leads to disruptions in sleep. When feeling anxious, always try to get a full 7 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and it can work wonders to improve your condition. 2. Always keep smiling. Take a quick break in between your hectic work to get some laughs with your friends. Laughter can reduce depression and anxiety and has proven benefits. 3. Tidy up your living space or workspace. Keep your things clean and clutter-free. That helps us think clear and thus reducing levels of anxiety. 4. Say thank you often. Expressing your thanks for something helps reduce anxiety. 5. Eat smart. Eating more of foods which are rich in vitamin b and omega-3 fatty acids and also healthy whole grain carbs. Vitamin b contributes to good mental health. While omega 3 fatty acids help with both depression and anxiety. Whole grain foods boost serotonin and helps us remain poised. Eating high-sugar content food and processed foods can increase levels of anxiety. 6. Learn to breathe well and relax. Short, shallow breaths arise when you are tensed. So consciously breathing deeply, plus increasing the duration and depth of breathing helps relax the body and mind to a great extent. 7. Meditate. Meditation has so many positive effects on stress, mood, and anxiety. Club meditation with positive thinking to improve your general well-being and overall health. Yoga is also very effective to take off stress from the body and mind by deep relaxation and breathing techniques. 8. Chill and be silent. Reduce the noise and clutter talk that contributes to anxiety. Find time for yourself and be alone to muse upon your own matters without anyone disturbing you. 9. Worry. Yes, we can cause ourselves to freak out, but only for a certain amount of time. When something weighs heavily on your mind, or you believe something terrible is most definitely going to occur, commit to only creating that worry for 20 minutes. Think of all the possible outcomes of the scenario, figure out some game plans, and then quit thinking about it after 20 minutes go by. Have a friend call after the allotted time has passed to avoid the temptation of going over the time limit. Or schedule some of that playtime right afterward. 10. Plan for the future but do not worry about it. Make time tables and to-do lists so that you will not be worried about finishing stuff and so that you can increase your productivity. 11. Be positive. When you feel anxious, train your mind to think and feel positive and give reinforcement to yourself that you can handle any situation. This will significantly reduce your stress and anxiety symptoms. 12. Smell relaxing stuff. Go out to your garden. Smell a fresh rose. Take a deep breathe and allow the relaxation to course through your whole body. You can also use relaxing aroma therapy and use it indoors. 13. Go out and spend time with your friends and family. Spend time with your pets social support reduces anxiety and stress to such a great extent that it is almost always bearable. So next time you get on your nerves, go out with your friends, chat with them, watch a movie, spend some time watching the waves in the beach with your partner, talk to your siblings.

Feeling disturbed and getting angry on issues that are not worth getting annoyed at, is a sign of your inability to deal with stressful situations. If this happens more often then you might need an evaluation for any underlying problems of the mind like anxiety, depression or impulse control disorders. Almost all psychological conditions lead to such problems in ones behaviour. Such behaviour problems can be effectively treated with counselling sessions, cbt and behaviour therapies. Medications can be used if necessary. Consult online for any queries and assistance.

Gynecomastia can be due to many reasons - drug intake, endocrinal (hormonal) problems, metabolic causes or pubertal gynecomastia. Here there is enlargement of breast due to fatty or glandular component of breast. Get serum testosterone, prolactin and thyroid profile done. Medicines can correct gynecomastia only in cases of hormonal problems otherwise they are not effective. Surgical correction of gynecomastia can be done by liposuction and sos gland incision. It's a safe and near scarless procedure. Consult a plastic surgeon for that. You can share your problems in more details along with the photographs also.

Hi, I need expert advice regarding my 3 year old son (bithday - 24/04/2012). Following are some achievements of vibhore. he is asia book of records and india book of records holder as youngest kid to recall multiplication tables up to 20. at age of 2 and half years. he knows all elements of chemistry, periodic table and can tell their symbols too and atomic numbers, he can recognize more than 125 car logos, he can point and tell names of all countries of world and can point in world map, he can point at all usa states in usa map, he knows all states of india and can point at their location on india map, he can answer many general knowledge questions promptly, he knows all planets of solar system in sequence, rainbow colours in sequence, english vowels, even/odd numbers etc. He can answer some general knowledge questions about them too, he can read level 1 and level 2 books easily and can write in sentences too, he can use google/youtube to learn/read more about topics of his interest like countries, animals, indian personalities, shapes etc. he can mimic 25+ indian personalities and can tell 30+ animal voices (can recognize more than 80 animals)? he himself concluded algebra equation that x+x=2x. He can answer till x=20 as he knows tables till 20. he knows all akshar of hindi varanmala, he knows uppercase and lower case english alphabets he can answer what comes after what comes before for all things he knows he can count in english, hindi, roman and spanish he can do addition (3 digits) and double digit subtraction too. He can verbally solve basic maths addition/subtraction/division/multiplication he learnt some basic maths concept by using calculator like x/0 is infinity, x/1=x, x*1=x, x*0=0 etc he can also use abacus to mark numbers he can tell einstein equation, area and parameter formulas, value of pi etc he can recognize many symbols of indian currencies, maths, computers etc he is almost all 2d and 3d shapes and can tell how many sides do all have he can easily type anything on laptop and know all keys and their functions. He know many shortcuts on keyboard eg: cut, copy, paste, find, bold, italics etc he can solve india map puzzle (29 pieces), asia map puzzle (50+ pieces), europe map puzzle (45+ pieces) and africa map puzzle (50+ pieces) he can solve world map puzzle in less than 5 minutes he know counting upto 1000 and even more he can operate 200+ apps on tablet from age of 19 months and is very good at solving all kids on puzzles on it, he won competition of an mnc as? most talented kid? and got title as you name it and he know it, he can recite more than 40 english/hindi poems, he won title of most active kid at age of 19 months at mothers pride gurgaon, he can do colour sorting, shape sorting, telling sequences, solving puzzles of 4+ years from age of 19 months, he can tell name of baby animals, he know all body parts, 80+ animals, colours, fruits, almost all vehicles, animal voices, animal babies etc. he can write more than 500+ spellings, mark direction on a paper and the list is long. Please share how can I get his iq assessment done. I got mail from mensa for him but they need wisc test. Is that test available in gurgaon for 3 years old kid. Please help me. With his acheivment list I also want to mention, he is still learning to communicate means he has speech delays. He communicate his needs well but cant tell them in sentences.

I like a girl working at my workplace. But I came to know that she has already a boyfriend. But still I can't change my feelings. I try everything to make her happy. But she wants me to stay away from her. Once I left talking to her or looking towards her. But it was hard time for me yet I was doing it for her sake. And now she came again to me asking an another help in her personal life. I did what I could and was happy again. But after her problem got over. She again started ignoring me. Whenever I swear not to think about her. She presents to me with a new problem seeking for help. When I help her, it gives me an incredible pleasure but when she ignores me. I be depressed. Hi lybrate-user, sure she is using you and has no real feeling for you. Sometimes people take advantage of our kindness. Don't think about her in terms of potential partner take her as a colleague that's it. Don't fulfill her demands or favors that she seeks from you, otherwise it will lead to you emotional exploitation. Why go after someone who is already committed when there are so many single girls out there. Consult for therapy, you need some guidance with this issue. All the best.

A doctor will prescribe an antabuse called disulfiram. It is not at all effective if the person is not going for therapy simultaneously. You need to cooperate with the prescription until the desired result is achieved. If you ingest even a small dose of alcohol or alcohol based syrups, you will likely have a mild to severe reaction that may entail hospitalization! are you going to be sufficiently committed? talk to your doctor and discuss all the repercussions before venturing into this therapy. The medicine by itself does not cause any side-effects but your non-compliance will. But like I said, if you are committed, this is it.

I was preparing for aipmt(medical entrance) for a year. I have me entrance in 15 days. I dont know if I am prepared or not. I m ver tensed. I could not remeber everythimg. You need to destress first. Please take a break from studies for a while. Meditate, exercise etc. But avoid alcohol and comfort eating. To get results, you can study smart, not study hard. Dear lybrate-user the details you furnished are inadequate to say something concretely, still I wd like you to have a regulatr routine for sleeping, leaving the bed in the morning, some light exercises &/or walk, yoga etc; on a regular basis wd make feel gd & confident.
