I have a pain in my gum above my front teeth in the upper side and is bit swollen as well. The pain is above one teeth only I mean on the gum portion only above one teeth, not on whole gums? Is it a sign of hiv?

It's due to gum sweeling. It may be due to any kind of infection. Not necessary it is a sign of hiv. Soo dnt worry. Maintain a good hygiene of your mouth. Wash teeth 2-3 times a day. Brush at night with baking soda. Rinse your mouth with lemon water. Boil few leaves of guava with water. Then rinse your mouth with that water. With this you need homoeopathic treatment. U can also contact me through Lybrate.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user! Although your blood sugar levels are not alarmingly high, nevertheless high blood sugar levels do have their detrimental effects on the body. The oral cavity (mouth) is not saved either! High blood sugar levels bring down the immunity of the body and minor and small infections also escalate causing a lot of problems. I strongly suggest you to keep your blood sugar levels under control and meet good physician who can help you with that. Oral Health can be kept optimum by timely visits to your dentists and taking his/her recommendations seriously and putting them into practise. A good dentist will always tell you about best practises and tips and tricks about keeping a good oral hygiene. Do not ignore small decays and never ignore gum disease, as these are especially more common in diabetics. Regarding a good toothpaste. Well there is no such thing as the best tooth paste. Any tooth paste is always as good as your brushing habits and techniques. Although I would suggest you to keep away from tooth pastes which have any type of abrasives in it, as long term use of these can be detrimental to the tooth structure. There you go. I hope this was of some help to you. Do take good care of your teeth! Thanks, Cheers.
