Good morning. As you are quite young, the commonest cause of pain in your age is weakness of bone. Get yourself investigated.

Hi mri reports not received. Homeopathic medicines are prescribed after detailed analysis and evaluation of symptoms. Do you have history of fall / trauma / injury to back since childhood? How long do you have backache? Do you experience any pain when you cough or sneeze? Have you noticed any clumsiness of the legs or feet lately? When did pain become severe? Did the pain begin after a work related injury? Few Homeopathic medicines that are effective in back pain treatment are Rhus Tox, Bryonia Alba, Aesculus Hippocastanum, Kali Carb, Arnica Montana and Hypericum Perforatum. You can consult me online for homoeopathic treatment without side effects.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. •Standing hamstring stretch: Place the heel of your injured leg on a stool about 15 inches high. Keep your knee straight. Lean forward, bending at the hips until you feel a mild stretch in the back of your thigh. Make sure you do not roll your shoulders and bend at the waist when doing this or you will stretch your lower back instead of your leg. Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times. •Cat and camel: Get down on your hands and knees. Let your stomach sag, allowing your back to curve downward. Hold this position for 5 seconds. Then arch your back and hold for 5 seconds. Do 3 sets of 10. •Quadruped arm/leg raise: Get down on your hands and knees. Tighten your abdominal muscles to stiffen your spine. While keeping your abdominals tight, raise one arm and the opposite leg away from you. Hold this position for 5 seconds. Lower your arm and leg slowly and alternate sides. Do this 10 times on each side.•Pelvic tilt: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Tighten your abdominal muscles and push your lower back into the floor. Hold this position for 5 seconds, then relax. Do 3 sets of 10. •Partial curl: Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Tighten your stomach muscles. Tuck your chin to your chest. With your hands stretched out in front of you, curl your upper body forward until your shoulders clear the floor. Hold this position for 3 seconds. Don't hold your breath. It helps to breathe out as you lift your shoulders up. Relax. Repeat 10 times. Build to 3 sets of 10. To challenge yourself, clasp your hands behind your head and keep your elbows out to the side. •Gluteal stretch: Lying on your back with both knees bent, rest the ankle of one leg over the knee of your other leg. Grasp the thigh of the bottom leg and pull that knee toward your chest. You will feel a stretch along the buttocks and possibly along the outside of your hip on the top leg. Hold this for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times. •Extension exercise: Lie face down on the floor for 5 minutes. If this hurts too much, lie face down with a pillow under your stomach. This should relieve your leg or back pain. When you can lie on your stomach for 5 minutes without a pillow, then you can continue with the rest of this exercise. Back BraceA back brace or corset can provide excellent relief for most sciatica sufferers. Those who gain the most benefit are those who find their pain eases when they wrap/bind a towel or sheet (folded-lengthwise) tightly around their stomach and back. If this simple test eases your pain, you should use a back brace in the short-term. Back braces and strong deep core muscles help to avoid a recurrence in the future. Massage Therapy Your spinal muscles will often present in muscle spasm, which responds favourably to soft tissue techniques such as massage therapy. You should seek the assistance of a quality remedial massage therapist to assist your sciatica treatment. TENS Machine TENS machines are an electronic pain relieving device that will reduce your pain and your need for pain-relieving drugs.

4 Advantages Of Subvastus Knee Replacement Surgery!

4 Advantages Of Subvastus Knee Replacement Surgery!

With age, the mobility and flexibility of the knee joint reduces significantly. This can affect one’s lifestyle as simple activities such as walking or lying down become painful and difficult. Moreover, there is the emotional stress resulting from an inability to perform routine activities smoothly. In short, any serious problem of the knee joint can affect your ability to function well.

Apart from medications and exercise, the only way to permanently treat such problems in the knee is to go for a joint replacement surgery. The Subvastus approach is often considered to be the best form of knee replacement for a number of reasons.

Subvastus Knee Replacement
Here is a look at the step-by-step procedure for performing a subvastus total knee replacement surgery.

  1. An 8-10 cm long incision is made on the knee.
  2. The thigh muscles are left intact and the knee joint is accessed from below the quadriceps.
  3. The bones in question are cut into place without actually separating them
  4. The kneecap is pushed to the side and is generally left intact in the subvastus approach.

Advantages of Subvastus Knee Replacement
This form of surgery is greatly preferred over the conventional knee replacement surgeries. Its benefits include-

  1. Minimally invasive- A very small incision is made for the surgery (8-10 cm), which means that the risk is lower. Comparatively, in conventional knee replacement, the incision is around 20-25 cm.
  2. No trauma to muscles- In subvastus approach, the muscles are not cut in order to get to the joint. Instead, surgeons simply bypass the quadriceps and get to the joint from a different angle. This ensures that muscle integrity is intact.
  3. Quicker recovery- Since the incision being made is smaller and since the muscles are not cut into during the surgery, patients recover much faster in case of subvastus knee replacement. Patients will be able to walk within 2 weeks of the surgery and resume normal life in just 2-3 months.
  4. Full bend to the knee- Care is taken during the surgery to ensure that the implanted joint achieves a full bend from the very outset of recovery.

Given the advantages, If you are eligible for the subvastus knee replacement surgery, opt for it.

Physiotherapy Treatment For Frozen Shoulder!

Frozen shoulder is a condition when somebody encounters continuous shoulder stiffness and pain. It could last for weeks. It is likely to occur when swelling increases around the shoulder which reduces inability to move or stretch properly. This ordinarily happens when somebody is recovering from an injury. Frozen shoulder at times happens when somebody is wearing a sling or a cast. It also occurs, if someone is recovering from surgery, experiencing joint pain or facing restraint of movement for other reasons.

A frozen shoulder can go on from a couple of months to as much as 3 years and the precise cause is unknown. Physiotherapy is often to treat this condition. It has been found that posture plays a huge part in your recovery from a frozen shoulder. The urgent goal is to get the shoulder join moving once again. The sooner this is done, the better are the odds of a quick recovery. Anti-inflammatory medicines, heat application and delicate stretching activities are performed with the assistance of a physiotherapist.

Physiotherapy is very crucial for a frozen shoulder since it is very difficult to get movement in the stiff joint without any exercise, stretching or other methods used by a physiotherapist. It is mostly crucial to get physiotherapy to:

  1. To reduce pain in the shoulder
  2. To increase the flexibility and strength of the shoulder
  3. To enhance movement of the shoulder.
  4. To increase endurance of the muscles

Physiotherapy treatment for a frozen shoulder depends on the stage you are on and is customized according to the needs of your condition. Physiotherapy treatments for a frozen shoulder include:

  1. Pain relief: Pain diminishing techniques including gentle shoulder movement exercises, muscle releases, needle therapy, dry needling and kinesiology taping for pain can help during the painful swelling phase.
  2. Defrosting: Shoulder mobilization and stretching are the best in order to achieve a full shoulder recovery. As your scope of movement increases, your physiotherapist will then be able to give you muscle strengthening exercises to control and keep up your recently found range of movement.
  3. Warm Up: Before beginning shoulder exercises for a frozen shoulder, try to warm up your shoulder keeping in mind the end goal. That is to help blood supply in the affected area and avoid future injuries. The best approach is to extend and warm up the shoulder by applying heat for 10 to 15 minutes, scrubbing down or showering with Epsom salt.

Physiotherapy does not bring out immediate results, but gradually. Flexibility will increase gradually. One should keep in mind, not to stretch their shoulder too quickly at once. This can lead to a ligament tear. The exercises should be tender and gradual.

Muscle Contusion - 6 Symptoms Of It!

Muscle Contusion - 6 Symptoms Of It!

Muscle contusion is a condition that is characterized by bruising in the muscles. It generally tends to occur in athletes who play a lot of contact sports. Repetitive blows in any part of the body may cause damage to the underlying muscle tissues. These blows may lead to internal bleeding, resulting in blood clot formation. The most common site where it occurs are the quadriceps.

The various causes of this condition are:

  1. Direct repetitive blows to a part of the muscle in contact sports such as football
  2. If you fall on a hard surface
  3. It may also occur if the muscle comes in contact real hard with sports equipment like soccer balls

The symptoms of a muscle contusion are:

  1. You may experience swelling of the muscle
  2. Excessive pain
  3. Decrease in range of motion in the concerned body part
  4. It may lead to leaking of blood vessels
  5. You may also experience hematoma where a lump is formed over the affected spot
  6. Symptoms of broken bones, dislocations and fractures may also occur

Complications: This disorder may also lead to various complications such as compartment syndrome, which leads to compression of blood vessels resulting in pain.

Treatment: The basic treatment for this condition is the RICE protocol which is rest, ice, compression and elevation. You should rest the muscle, then apply ice to the affected area to reduce the pain. You can also take NSAIDs (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) to reduce the pain. In severe cases, the doctor may drain the lump surgically.

It is advisable to not return to your normal sports routine in order to allow the muscle to recover. If you carry on with your regular routine, it may result in further complications like the formation of scar tissue. You may undergo various stretching exercises to relieve the pain and make a gradual return to your normal sporting activities.

Shoulder Dislocation: Causes And Treatment

Shoulder Dislocation: Causes And Treatment

A shoulder dislocation is a shoulder injury which is characterized by the upper arm bone popping out of the socket of your shoulder blade. The shoulder joint is the most mobile among all the joints in the body, making it the most prone to dislocation. The dislocation of the shoulder joint can either be partial or complete depending on the injury. In a partial dislocation, the head of the upper arm is partially shifted out of the socket whereas in a complete dislocation, the head comes out of the socket in its entirety.

Symptoms-

The symptoms of shoulder dislocation are:

  1. Swelling or bruising of the affected area.

  2. Deformed shoulder.

  3. Excruciating pain in the shoulder region.

  4. Mobility of the joint is greatly reduced.

Apart from these symptoms, there may be tingling, numbness and weakness in the affected region.

Causes-

There can be multiple ways in which a shoulder can be dislocated because of its ability to move and swing in all the directions. The fibrous tissues that connect the bones of your shoulder may also get stretched or torn. These injuries occur due to a sudden blow or a strong force exerted on the shoulder joint.

It is caused by:

  1. Trauma to the Shoulder Joint: Hard blows to the shoulder joint such as one suffered from a vehicle accident can lead to shoulder dislocation.

  2. Sports Injuries: In contact sports such as hockey and football, the sudden forceful contractions of the shoulder region may lead to dislocation of the shoulder.

  3. Falls: Tripping or falling from an elevated place and landing on the shoulder can cause shoulder joint dislocation.

Treatment-

The treatments for shoulder dislocation are –

  1. Medication: Medications such as pain relievers can be prescribed by the doctor to reduce pain.

  2. Surgery: Surgery of the shoulder joint can help in treating chronic shoulder dislocations. Surgery is also required if the blood vessels or the nerves along the shoulder joint are damaged.

  3. Immobilization: This process involves attaching a sling or a splint to the affected area to prevent it from moving. This allows the shoulder joint to heal and recuperate faster.
