My name is sujit I am suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus from last 5 years, I had uncontrollable sugar level recently I am on tab. Tribet 2 mg dose is 1 od. But still it is under control recently I had fbs is 206.

M.D Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Neemuch
You do not mention ppbs, it require to control. You have to increase blood testing frequently and on that doctor can increase dose. So in your case you can increase your tab to two- one in morning and one in evening, but you have to go for regular blood sugar check up every 3 to 4 days. And have to consult your doctor. If you can start exercise daily one hour and strict diet control- than no need to increase medicine dose- preferable.

How Homeopathy Boosts Immunity And Why It Should Be The First Line Of Treatment?

How Homeopathy Boosts Immunity And Why It Should Be The First Line Of Treatment?

Eating healthy food and getting enough rest and exercise may not be enough to boost your immune system, particularly when you are being exposed to bacteria and viruses in your increasingly polluted environment. Your immune system needs a bit more help and Homeopathy offers more than a helping hand, find why it should be the first line of treatment?

The immune system is like a fort to protect the body against foreign invaders (or pathogens) like fungi or parasites, bacteria, viruses etc. Inimical entities are also being created from within, auto-immune disorders and diseases like cancer. Proper immune function is a complex balancing act which nature has to carry out but with a little help. While functioning properly, our immune systems are able to discriminate effectively, between body’s own tissues and foreign pathogens. A weakened immune system makes you vulnerable to virtually every type of illness. If the immune response becomes overactive or misdirected it begins to target the body’s own tissues for foreign invaders and starts attacking them

Immunity is influenced by the digestive capabilities and our ability to digest, assimilate and absorb nutrients in our bodies. In a healthy body where immune function is strong, any invaders are neutralized or destroyed and then expelled and normalcy is restored. If digestive capabilities are impaired by an imbalance, metabolism is affected and the immune response and natural resistance are lowered. If the body is unhealthy by stored toxins from undigested food, then an environment is created in which invaders are encouraged to thrive. What makes us sick is the deranged, disturbed immune system not the disease tonsillitis or headache or bacteria. These are all end products of disease. The disturbance in the normal functioning of vitality is the real sickness.

Boosting the Immune System:

It is absolutely vital that you have a good strong immune system. A strong immune system means your body can fight back very well when it is under attack. Thousands of times a day your immune system helps combat all sorts of minor invasions, from bacteria, viruses, parasites and many other "intruders". However, this internal self-defence mechanism can sometimes function poorly. There are many reasons for this and at these times it is important to try and recover as quickly as possible.

A point well worth remembering is that prevention is always better than cure. So a strong immune system can stop one getting ill in the first place.

Why Homeopathy to boost your immunity?

  1. Unlike antibiotics homeopathy does not ‘neutralize’ an infection, instead it strengthens the body’s immune system to fight disease or infection.
  2. The modern system of homeopathy looks towards systemic detoxification that causes weakening of defense mechanism. It, therefore, works on removing poisoning or toxicity from bone marrow, liver, spleen, lymphocytes, lymph nodes that play a vital role in immune defense mechanism.
  3. Homeopathy is more palatable than many conventional medicines since the mildly sweet pills, powders or liquids are easy to dispense and consume.
  4. Homeopathy is effective in any problem associated with a compromised immune system or lowered immune response.
  5. Patient on Homeopathy regains appetite after few days thus helping the patient gain weight.
  6. Homeopathy helps control opportunistic infections associated with a compromised immune system.
  7. Homeopathy decreases the viral load after few months of regular consumption.
  8. Homeopathy is well tolerated in patients of all age groups and has been used by thousands of patients in several countries with no adverse effects reported.

Being totally natural, homeopathic medicines are ideal. Homeopathy uses a very small amount of therapeutic substances for easing several symptoms and conditions. The top homeopathic medicines used in boosting your overall immunity are as follows:

  1. Allium cepa- This medicine contains a low amount of red onion. It is used for relieving nasal congestion and treats teary eyes. It is ideal for improving immunity against cold and influenza.
  2. Gelsemium- This remedy is derived from the vine called Gelsemium sempervirens. It treats cold and flu symptoms. Your immunity against body aches and fever get reduced.
  3. Oscillococcinuim- This homeopathic medicine is also known as Oscillo. This remedy contains a small amount of duck liver and duck heart. It should be taken on the first day when you experience flu symptoms. It strengthens your immune system against germs, which cause cold and related conditions.

There is no specific homeopathic medicine, which is only meant for boosting your immunity. The medicines are actually used for treating some specific conditions and symptoms, and they also improve your immunity against the conditions it fights. It is always recommended to consult a specialized homeopath before you undergo any medication.

I have itching problem on my neck from last four years, I consult with doctors he said that I have allergy with dust and it's a fungal problem then he prescribed a cream and medicine, it's good for one month but again come back. What I should do now? Please give me a permanent suggestion.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Persistant itching on your neck can be due to either allergy skin reactions or unhygienic condition of your neck skin due to improper hygiene and care of your neck area and in that case your neck will become dark and patchy. If yours is also such problem then consult me------------------------

My Hba1c reading is 5.8 as per my blood test last month. Do I need to be worried. Also lipid profile showed triglyceride level at 325 but my total cholesterol is 185. Do I need to worry about triglyceride and hba1c level or are they normal? I am 34 old healthy male.

You need to worry about both. If your fasting blood sugar level is below 110 then you need not worry. And with tryglycerides if it below 180 then it's a normal condition. You need to take medicines to normalise your cholesterol levels.

You are bit confused. One side you do not want to leave her. Other side worried of hiv. Get test done and everything will be clear. Also if she has problems in getting pregnant. Then talk to her and today there are many ways by which you can get pregnancy and that can be done. Since you like her so much then do not think much and after the test marry her.

Masturbation - 10 Myths Associated To It

Masturbation - 10 Myths Associated To It

Masturbation is rarely discussed, even amongst the closest of friends. Even though this is a normal part of human sexuality, society frowns on it and young people are often taught to avoid masturbation. Lack of knowledge and opportunities to talk about it have given rise to a number of myths on this subject. Let's take a look at a few of them.

Masturbation can damage the genitals
Touching your genitals is very unlikely to damage them. The sex organs are designed to withstand friction and hence are very tough organs. The maximum damage that can be caused by masturbation is a little chafing. Using lubricant can prevent this from occurring.

It causes health problems
Pleasuring yourself is the ultimate form of safe sex. There is no way for you to catch an STD or for it to cause any sort of mental health problem. The only risks involved are allergic reactions to lubricants or toys and a feeling of guilt or shame due to societal pressure.

It lowers the chances of you having an orgasm during sex
Masturbation does not reduce your sex drive or prevent you from having orgasms. Many people also claim that women get addicted to vibrators and cannot enjoy sex without them. However, there is no truth behind this.

Masturbation is akin to cheating
Single people as well as people in committed relationships masturbate. While it can lead to problems in a relationship depending on your partner's views about it, it does not amount to cheating on him or her.

It can cause blindness
Blindness is the most outrageous myth associated with self-induced orgasms. Till date, there has not been a medical case to prove it.

It causes infertility
Pleasuring yourself does not reduce your chances of getting pregnant or getting someone else pregnant. However, for men with a low sperm count, restricting ejaculations while trying to get their partner pregnant is a good idea. The only way masturbation can lead to infertility is if partners who share sex toys do not

keep them clean and pass on STDs through them.

Only men masturbate
Men and women across the world masturbate.

It can cause erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction has a number of psychological and biological causes such as heart disease, stress and obesity but masturbation is not one of them.

Eating certain foods can help control the urge to masturbate

Pleasuring yourself is normal and not affected by what you eat or do not eat.

It is only for young people
Men and women of all ages can enjoy self-induced orgasms. This does not have any adverse effects on your health. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

Loss of appetite, loss of weight and chronic diarrhea suggests some chronic disorder. Irritable bowel syndrome could be one of them. It is necessary that he should see a Consulting Physician with accurate medical history, proper clinical examination, related investigations, diagnosis and further management.

General Physician, Mumbai
Dear lybrateuser, -your heart rate is within the range of 50-88% of your target heart rate when you are exercising, since you achieve the target heart rate it is beneficial for your heart & overall health, if you feel tired after exercise then reduce your pace & the rate will come down -along with aerobic exercise you should do moderate weight lifting at least two days in a week, also do stretching & yoga -have a well balanced, nutritious diet with fruits & vegetables & proteins, eggs, milk, yogurt, paneer, cheese, beans, soyaproducts, nuts-almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts -have 8-10 glasses of water in a day or more if you exert & sweat a lot.

Most of the times during night I feel congestion in my nose. Sometimes I feel I can't breathe properly. Also my heartbeat is too fast during this phase.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
take steam inhalations , when you exert to breathe better , there is strain on heart and this may be the reason for increase in heart beat. mostly congestion in nose is due to external factors like smoke and pollution and taking anti allergic tablets at bed time helps. but do inhale steam and clear the congestion. you may spit out flegm which shows some amount of pollutants in it.
