Too much of stress leaves you physically tired and exhausted. Because of this, you will not have enough energy to have sex. Moreover, when you are stressed out about some issue, your libido gets affected, and you might not have any interest in having sex.

Effects of stress on your sexual life

Stress causes lowered self-esteem which results in less sex.

  4. You may start drinking excessively because of stress. Too much alcohol is bad for sexual health. It makes sex dull and less pleasurable. Alcohol causes dehydration, which affects lubrication. Stress also affects a person’s fertility and menstruation cycle, which could hamper your sex life.

Ayurvedic treatment for this scalp disorder has negligible side effects and makes use of things that are commonly found at home. Here are a few easy remedies for dandruff.

  1. Lemon: Lemon helps treat dandruff by altering the pH levels of the scalp. The citric acid in lemon juice also protects the scalp against microbes called Malassezia globosa which is responsible for dandruff. Lemon juice also balances the sebum levels of the scalp and prevents the scalp from becomes excessively dry or greasy. Additionally, it also reduces itchiness. To benefit from lemon juice, you could rub thin lemon slices on your scalp or massage your scalp with a lemon juice and oil mixture.
  2. Coconut: Coconut oil has antifungal properties that can help treat cases of dandruff caused by fungal reactions. Coconut can also keep the skin on your scalp from drying out and hence keep dandruff from being aggravated. 4. Aloe vera: Aloe vera has great medicinal value because of its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. When applied on the scalp, it also moisturizes the scalp and prevents dryness. To treat dandruff, apply aloe vera gel on your scalp and leave for 45 minutes before rinsing it off with water. It is important not to shampoo the gel off. Rehabilitation From Drug Abuse Ayurveda!

Drug addiction is a condition, which is abnormal or pathological and occurs due to excess use of alcohol, drugs, smoking or other such addictive substances. The different effects of addiction are acute drug use, drug-seeking behavior, relapsing vulnerability, slow response to natural stimuli, and last but not the least, low motivation in life.

Drug addiction is regarded as a community disease as it leads to crimes, violence, failure in school, child-abuse, the loss of productivity and domestic violence. That is why it is very important to eradicate this problem from the society; especially the teens should be educated on the same.

Madatya in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, the problems of drug addiction is dealt under the heading of Madatya, meaning ‘intoxication’. The state of individual occurs due to continuous use of drug, alcohol, tobacco or any substance of high intoxication. Madatya is relative to the third and fourth stage in the addiction process i.e., drug dependence and drug abuse. Madatya kills the will to live a happy and healthy life because it is a total opposite of ‘ojas’, which means a source of energy. Madatya and wellness can’t go hand-in-hand in a body.

Addiction and doshas
The Ayurvedic states that the doshas are aggravated by the overdose of drugs into one’s body. They are Vata (Air), Kapha (Water), Pitta (Fire) or a combination of all three doshas termed as Tridosha.

Treatments in Ayurveda
In Madatya, Ayurveda balances the aggravated doshas. It first detects the doshas, and then treats them. Ayurveda uses herbal remedies to treat the symptoms, discards the toxins (ama) collected in the body and motivates and regenerates cells and tissues. There is a phase in the de-addiction process where the patient becomes confused because their intelligence level drops due to drug abuse. Ayurveda treats this problem with the use of herbs like Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhizaglabra), Brahmi (Bacopamonnieri), Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis) and Guduchi (Tinosporacordifolia).

In Ayurveda, treatment of Sattva Guna, meaning the quality of goodness, is done to promote mental health. The patients are made to follow strict healthy practices like consumption of natural vegetarian food, practice Yoga, and meditation and follow a daily routine of less anxiety and stress. Activities like wearing neat and clean clothes, walking and spending time in natural flowery ambiance with good friends, listening to good music and all other forms of natural relaxants and entertainment are also a part of treatment. These will boost the soul and mind of the patients and make them grateful to God for their lives.

Almonds Peeled Vs Unpeeled - Which Has More Benefits?

Delightful and healthy, almonds are not just a treat for the eyes; they proffer a host of advantages for our well-being as per a study conducted across the world. Ayurveda, the ancient branch of medicine in India also claims that almonds proffer a broad range of health benefits, especially when they are consumed after peeling off the skin.

What are the benefits of almonds?
Ayurveda recommends consumption of sweet almonds instead of bitter ones. The warm and sweet qualities of such almonds are preferred for its abilities to pacify the Vata doshas in the body. They help in lubricating the skin and the microcirculatory channels and offer support to all the seven vital tissues in the body. Almonds are highly beneficial for improving pitta, and an Ayurvedic practitioner will help in educating you about how you can metabolize them.

What is the best way to consume almonds?

  • You should buy whole organic almonds which are filled with all the nutrients in their crudest form. The skin of almonds is difficult to digest, and therefore Ayurveda recommends soaking the almonds and peeling the skin to improve the digestibility of almonds.
  • When you eat almonds without soaking and peeling off the skin, it will aggravate Pitta in the blood.
  • The best way to prepare almonds is to soak them in lukewarm water all through the night and peel the skin off in the morning.
  • You may also blend them with raisins and dates, but it is always advised to eat them whole as well.
  • You can eat up to 10 almonds in a day, but you should refrain from eating them on their own on an empty stomach but take them with fruits or vegetables. This is because taking almonds on an empty stomach would aggravate pitta doshas and lead to unwanted consequences such as indigestion.
  • Since they are so versatile, you are free to add them to puddings, bread and muffins and other foods and enjoy.

Why should you opt for soaked and peeled almonds in place of peeled ones?
Choosing between soaked almonds and raw ones is not just a matter of taste, but is a matter of opting a healthier option.

Now the question is why soaked, and peeled almonds are better?

  • First of all, the brown peel of almonds contains tannin that can prevent absorption of nutrients. As you soak the almonds, the skin would come off easily and allow the nut to release its goodness effortlessly.
  • The benefits of soaked almonds are endless; they help in digestion, improves heart health, aid in weight loss, and they are a major source of antioxidants. They can also assist in combating cancer, and the flavonoids in the almonds can prevent the growth of tumor in the body.

So, have a handful of peeled almonds regularly for good health.
