Fracture takes longer time to heal. You may have some discomfort for 3 months. Some stiffness is also expected after immobilization for 1 month. All you need is some ankle mobilization exercises. You can also dip your foot in lukewarm water for few minutes every 4-6 hrs which will help in relieving pain and improving ankle movements.

Sir I had operated my ACL ligament of left knee arthroscopically which was fully teared before 1 month and 10 days ago. So till now I can not able 2 bend my knee 90 degrees, its about 100 degrees yet. Strength in quadriceps n hamstring is nt also that much satisfactory for which yet 2 walk without walker support. Some amount of pain is also inside when I lift that leg by self frm ground. So pls answer me is my progress satisfactory or nt, if nt then pls suggest me some steps which can help me for early recovery. Also tell in general how much time it takes 2 bend and walk completely.

You are slightly lagging behind, I aim to achieve 90 degrees at 2 weeks in my patients. Muscle strengthening takes time and patients may need walker support upto 6 weeks post surgery. I would suggest you to visit a physiotherapist as you need some supervision. It takes about 3 month to achieve normal gait. Sports is only allowed after 6 month.

Your mri is normal as mild disc bulge is inconsequential. You better start some lower back muscle strengthening exercise (available on internet or visit a physio)

Spinal cord injury of paraplegic
Who best treatment
1 stem cells therapy
2 physiotherapy.
There is no proven benefit of stem cells in spinal cord injury, its still at experimental stage. Please do not fall in trap as lot of websites claim to offer cure with stem cells. Physiotherapy helps in keeping joints supple but unfortunately till date there is nothing we can do to accelerate/initiate neurological recovery in spinal cord injury.

No exercise helps in correcting knock knees no matter what anybody claims. If your knock knees are in physiological range, just ignore it.

There are 4 major ligaments and two menisci in the knee joint. Treatment and recovery depends upon which component is injured. Diagnosis can only be confirmed by mri. But you can wait and watch, start some quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercise. If things don't improve in 1 month, go to an orthopaedic surgeon who will then probably advice mri.

I am 24 years old male suffering with lateral pelvic tilt after undergoing broken femur surgery 7 years back. I tend to aggressively use my right leg resulting in above said condition. My right knee is rotated towards right and torso tilted towards right. Any fix for this?

There are many causes of most pelvic tilt after thigh and hip fractures. One is weakness of abductor muscles of hip. The other is link length discrepancy (your leg is bit shortened after fracture). There may not be any abnormality and this could be just because you have become habitual walking with pelvic tilt. The treatment actually depends on a cause. You need to visit an orthopaedic surgeon for clinical assessment.

If you stand with your ankle touching each other and the inner aspect of your knees rub each other, you have knock knees. Its a physiological variation and you cannot correct it by any means except surgery which is only advisable in genu valgum (significant knock knees) (certainly not in your case). So cheers. The army has this weird protocol since colonial times which they are reluctant to change.

I was having Slip Disc problem in year 2005 and was confined on bed for 35 days. MRI reports revealed problem in L5 S 1 area. Doctors advised me not to sit on ground and sleep sideways by bending both the knees and keeping pillow in between them. Although I do not have that pain again but Now my body has become very stiff, I can not bend my knees and having very poor flexibility what should I do.

’m a 28years old male that was diagnosed with a partial ACL tear in my right knee. I’ve been living with it for 4 years. I’m not nearly as strong lifting or explosive jumping and running and my knee feels tight and weak for days after heavy sports or leg workouts, although it does’t buckle. What would be your thoughts on my situation? Grade || signal intensity in body and posterior horn of the medical meniscus, suggestive of tear. Medical serpiginous low signal intensity lesions on T1 W with central hyperintense signal on T2 W images involving medical and lateral femoral, lower 1/3 shaft of femur likely to represent bony infarcts. Small osteochondral defect with partial loss articular cartilage at lateral femoral condale. Minimal joint effusion Uric acid also high side (end line) 7.1. Thanks.

Partial acl tear usually do not need surgery. Moreover you symptoms are not due to ligament insufficiency. Partial articular cartilage defects are left as such. Grade 2 signal in meniscus are usually not symptomatic. It may not be wise to suggest anything without clinical examination and mri films, but as per your symptoms and mri report, I think you should focus on quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. Any surgery is less likely to improve your symptoms.

Knee movements can be improved by a key hole surgery (arthroscopic arthrolysis) if he is not benefiting from physiotherapy.

Osteoarthritis is an irreversible process. Long term medication is not advised. Life style modification (avoiding squatting, cross leg sitting, stair climbing) and use of cane helps. Give here paracetamol for pain and start vitamin d therapy. Hope this helps.

I have high Uric Acid level (7.3) detected for the last 4-5 months. After consultation I take Feburic-80 for one month and changed my eating habit. I stopped taking medicine when level reduces to 4.0. Just before one month I realized heel pain and checked it again, it is now 7.7. Dr. Advised me do a close look to your uric acid level and continue to take medicine but denied heel pain pain relates high uric acid level. I just wanted to know is it relates, I am feeling difficult walking for10-20 steps just after bed. I also feel stretches in between heel and ankle in downstairs. Please suggest.

Heel pain as the only symptom of high uric acid is rare, your doctor is right. What you have is plantar fascitis, which is a common problem. Treatment includes wearing comfortable footwear, and plantar fascia and tendo achilles stretching exercise which should be done first thing in the morning.

Whether Radio Frequency Therapy can get rid of pain of knee in Osteoarthritis. Is it better than Injection (lubrication)

Whether Radio Frequency Therapy can get rid of pain of knee in Osteoarthritis. Is it better than Injection (lubrication)
In my opinion radio frequency should be reserved for old patients who are not fit for surgery. It works by ablating the nerves which although will give pain relief, has a potential of aggravating the arthritic process (neuropathic joint). Lubricant injection, on the other hand is a safer option.

Take rest, put some ice (4 hrly), take pain killers. But before all this get an xray done to rule out any fracture.

Honestly no exercise is going to work. Only after a certain degree knock knees are bothersome and if they are surgery is the only option.

It depends on the severity. Treatment is by surgery (corrective osteotomy). You need to see an orthopaedic surgeon.
