I have a broken tooth. Severe pain occurs sometimes. I also don't want to uproot my tooth please give suggestion.
Hello from what you have mentioned in your question, it is obvious that your tooth has suffered some form of trauma. The fact that you have suffered episodes of severe pain suggests that the root and adjacent tissue may have got infected. Normally a problem of such nature can be overcome by undergoing root canal treatment (rct). Please visit a dentist who after doing a thorough clinical and radiographic (x ray) examination will inform you about the various options available. If the tooth can be saved I am sure your dentist will do everything possible to salvage it. All the best.

Bad breath can be due to some foods, poor oral hygiene, tobacco, medications, systemic diseases etc. Treatment:- 1. Brush twice daily, morning and at night. 2. Rinse your mouth after all meals. 3. Use a mouthwash 4. Get regular cleaning of teeth done by your dentist, once in 6 months. 5. Have a healthy balanced diet. 6. Dental check up every 6 months to rule out any cavities, etc. 7. Get a full body check up done.

I am getting cuts around the corners of my mouth. What is the reason for it? Is it infectious? It comes frequently.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. CAUSES ? It is caused by infection with a yeast called Candida. Candida is often present in the mouth and if it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. ? It can also be caused by infection with the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. This organism is present without causing problems in the nose of some people. If it spreads to the corners of the mouth it can cause angular cheilitis. The chance of getting angular cheilitis may increase: ? If you have some chronic bowel problems ? If you are low in iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid ? If you have a condition where you drool saliva at the corners of the mouth ? If you wear dentures that do not adequately support the corners of the mouth HOME REMEDY 1. Honey 2. Aloe Vera Gel 3. Lip Balms and Moisturizers 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Cocoa Butter 6. Homemade Mixture 7. 2 tablespoons of tea tree oil, 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E oil, and tablespoon of petroleum jelly should be mixed and applied over the cracked area as many times possible in a day. 8. Lemon 9. Cucumber 10. Neem Leaves TREATMENT (PRISCRIPTION MEDICINES) 1. Miconazole ointment or candid ointment - need to apply to the corners of your mouth usually 2-4 times daily for 2 or more weeks 2. Chlorhexidine mouthwash used four times daily 3. Course of tablets such as Fluconazole 4. C. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals. HOW CAN YOU PREVENT ANGULAR CHEILITIS? If you take the following steps you may be able to prevent angular cheilitis from developing: ? Maintain good oral and denture hygiene ? Wear well-fitting dentures which provide adequate lip support ? Regularly rinse your mouth with water & mouth wash ? Keep good control of your diabetes ? Eat a well-balanced diet Advance procedures can be done with laser.DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have geographic tongue and fissures which makes me uncomfortable for past 6 years. Is there any remedy to that. Even tired zinc and vitamin tables. No use.

BDS, Master of Hospital Administration

Geographic tongue and fissured tongue are two different conditions of tongue, but both of them are almost asymptomatic. So, there is no pain or discomfort in these conditions. If you are having any discomfort please visit a Dentist for some topical ointments or gels. But the conditions are asymptomatic. No need to worry.

Pyorrhoea is the disease of the gum which affects the soft tissue & bone surrounding the roots of the teeth and leads to pus formation and loosening of the teeth. Pyorrhoea term is usually used when the condition is too bad and the gums bleed spontaneously and multiple teeth are moving. In the early stages the disease if fully curable. You need to get your teeth cleaned, maintain a good oral hygiene as advised by your dentist after cleaning & start using a mouthwash. In some cases if the disease has progressed too far, gum surgery may be needed to eradicate the disease.
