Testosterone Deficiency - Ayurveda Can Treat It Permanently!

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Testosterone Deficiency - Ayurveda Can Treat It Permanently!

Testosterone deficiency is a more common problem amongst men than you would like to believe. Most men recoil away from the idea of seeing a doctor just to avoid hearing the words or thinking it is a problem that has affected them alone. On the contrary, that is not the case at all. More and more people today are stricken by the same problem and the problem seems to grow with increasing age.

Another reason that men fail to consult a doctor is that 85% of them are unaware of the problem. In case you suspect or notice yourself of possessing erectile dysfunction, it is time that you paid the sexologist a visit. The main aim is to not to be scared and not to shy away from it, but to consult a doctor and cure the problem.

Causes of testosterone deficiency

In case you are curious to know the causes of testosterone deficiency, here is a hint:

  • Specific medicines and treatments

  • Genetic conditions

  • Testicle injury

  • Cancer in your testicles or its treatment

  • Any kind of infection or inflammation

  • hormonal disorders

  • AIDS or HIV

  • Kidney diseases

  • Liver diseases

  • Obesity

  • Type 2 diabetes and other factors like aging

Signs and symptoms of testosterone deficiency

There are some symptoms that will point the problem out to you. Just be vigilant and notice the symptoms when they show themselves. These warning signs for low testosterone may be classified into two heads – primary and secondary symptoms.

Primary signs include:

  • Difficulty in reaching full erection stage

  • Decreased sex drive

  • Depleted volume of semen

  • Constant lack of energy or fatigue

Secondary signs include:

  • Hair loss

  • Losing muscle mass

  • Obesity

  • Sudden mood shifts

  • Sudden increase in body fat

Side effects of injecting testosterone hormone

If testosterone is taken as a pill, then it can be toxic to the liver. So, in most cases, testosterone is injected. However, severe breathing problems, allergic reactions, hormonal disorders, hypogonadism, testicular atrophy etc. may be seen.

Go natural to avoid side effects:

Anything that is artificial can never prove good for you, especially in the long term. Contrary to its immediate advantages, artificial testosterone replacement therapies through injections, steroids and pills often tend to lead to detrimental conditions such as testicular atrophy and permanent impotency.

The testosterone injected or produced by these artificial treatments is chemical or synthetic in nature, which can never be good for your body.

Here is where the role of Ayurvedic medicines comes. These medicines and therapies are not only all-natural and devoid of any side effects, but they also positively influence the natural production of testosterone in the body.

How can you get natural treatment?

The best way to help your body produce natural and more nourished testosterone is by consulting an Ayurvedic specialist.

Do you have low testosterone?

Natural recovery is possible in 30 days with the help of an extremely competent Ayurvedic therapist. Their natural recovery treatment packages, including Ayurvedic medicines and practices, will help you dodge the warning bell and also assist your testosterone levels to reach its normal potentials. If you wish to take a Low Testosterone recovery health package, click on the given link.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. There are some benefits claimed regarding blood glucose control with black grapes. It is supposed to stimulate insulin secretion and reduces insulin resistance This is said to be due to presence of resveritrol in them. However, there are no authentic clinical studies to support these claims. Most fruits contain antioxidants and flavonoids, which offer multiple benefits. But grapes are generally very sweet, so it is always good if one consumes a very limited quantity. Thanks.

Diabetes - How It Puts You At Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases?

MBBS, MRCGP ( UK), Diploma in Diabetes (UK), DFSRH (UK), DRCOG (UK)
Endocrinologist, Hyderabad
Diabetes - How It Puts You At Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases?

One of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD) is diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to major heart problems. It is thus pertinent to take timely actions to control the insulin-related issues and save ourselves from CVD.

It is important to understand how diabetic patients are more prone to CVD than others to take pre-emptive actions to control it.

  1. Atrial Fibrillation: Atrial Fibrillation means an irregular and rapid heart rate which can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure and other cardiac issues. Individuals with diabetes are at an increased risk of developing atrial fibrillation. This risk is higher among patients with a longer duration of treated diabetes and poorer glycemic control.
  2. Hyperglycemia: Hyperglycemia means high (hyper) glucose (gly) in the blood (emia). Your body needs glucose to properly function. Your cells rely on glucose for energy. Hyperglycemia is a defining characteristic of diabetes, when the blood glucose level is too high because the body isn't properly using or doesn't make the hormone insulin.
  3. Hypertension: Hypertension in diabetes is considered a major contributor to the increase in mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Diabetic patients, especially those with Type 2, need to always have their blood pressure checked every visit to the doctor. Self-monitoring at home is also a must to maintain and control the rise of blood pressure. The American Diabetes Association recommends a target blood pressure of not more than 130/85 mm Hg to maintain a good level of blood pressure.
  4. Smoking: Smoking has been determined dangerous to our health. Studies show that smoking indeed increase risk of premature death and cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Endocrinologist.

Dear sir, I am a diabetic patients n taking human mixtard insulin. My sugar level is under control. Can I donate blood. Reply.

MBBS & Post Graduate Course in Diabetology, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE), CCEBDM
Endocrinologist, Bangalore
Dear sir,
I am a diabetic patients n taking human mixtard insulin. My sugar level is under control. Can I donate bloo...
Hi If you take insulin, you are not eligible to donate. The rationale is that donating blood could interrupt your blood glucose control, and potentially lead to a hypoglycemic reaction in the clinic or on the way home. If you manage your diabetes with lifestyle or diabetes pills, you may be eligible, depending on your overall health and if you meet the eligibility criteria listed below. Many people who have type 2 diabetes have blood pressure and heart problems, which would prevent them from donating. So, if you are on OHAs and on good control, you should be able to donate blood, suggest not unless you are very keen and should be done under close monitoring.

I am 17 and weigh 36 kg. I and my bf were getting close and I had his ejaculation on my hand. Then about 3-4 minutes when the ejaculation was almost dry I had inserted that finger in vagina. We didn't have any intercourse. I had menstrual Cramps 2 days before this happened and the next day I had my periods. Also I had taken regestrone (2 doses) on my 1st day. And I didn't have much flow on 1st and 2nd day also I was over stressed and have thyroid but since 3rd day I had same flow of periods that I usually have uptil other 3 days Can I get pregnant? Are there chances that I'll miss next period? I am very much worried.

No, but you should be careful about your health. The health should be your first priority especially if you want the thyroid hormones to be in control and the periods to be regular. Please do not abuse the hormonal pills frequently as it can drastically confuse your system and lead to menstrual irregularities. Please go for regular medical followup with a gynecologist to ensure your well being. You simply need to take charge of your mind and body and take a conscious decision to adapt a healthy lifestyle. Spend at least 30 minutes to exercise everyday ( it can be any sport or simple brisk walkimg. Later you can increase the exercise time to 1 hour. Eat health food and avoid all junk and processed /packaged food. Have more of salads, fruits and vegetables - on a daily basis. Yoga can be very effective to bring hormonal balance ( for both thyroid and the hormones related to the periods ). Relax the mind by going for some hobby which makes you happy. Learn pranayam and meditation which can also help you to lead a balanced life.

STDs: Myths and Facts

STDs: Myths and Facts

Though sexually transmitted diseases affect a number of people, it is considered a taboo subject and not often talked about. This has given rise to a lot of misinformation and myths about it. Let's clear up a few of these myths.

Myth: Herpes Virus can be transmitted through a toilet seat.
Using the same toilet as a person infected with herpes will not increase your risk of contracting the virus. Herpes spreads only through direct skin-to-skin contact. However, it is a good idea not to share personal care items like towels, soaps etc with a person suffering from an STD.

Myth: STDs are transmitted only through vaginal sex.
If you are in direct contact with any kind of body fluid of the person suffering from an STD, you can get infected too. STDs can be transmitted through any form of intercourse including oral, vaginal and anal sex. Thus, always use a condom for any kind of sexual act.

Myth: Baby oil can be used to lubricate a condom
In some situations, you may need to lubricate a condom before use. Oil-based lubricants like baby oil, Vaseline and hand creams should never be used to lubricate a condom. This is because they can break down latex and allow STDs to pass through. Instead use water soluble lubricants like contraceptive jellies. You could also use saliva.

Myth: You can't get an STD if you've had sex only once
STDs like Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis have a very high infection rate. Having unprotected sex once is more than enough to get infected with the virus.

Myth: Two condoms are better than one
Condoms are not designed to be layered and used. Using two condoms instead of one may result in the condoms breaking due to the frictions between them. A condom must also be never reused. It should be put on as soon as there is n erection to protect against early ejaculation.

Myth: You can catch an STD only once
Some STDs like HIV and herpes are infections that last a lifetime. Others can be treated with antibiotics and antivirals. However, once you have recovered from an STD you are at the same risk of catching it again as you were the first time. When it comes to STDs like Chlamydia, a second attack can be worse than the first time and cause lasting damage to your reproductive organs.

The only way to protect yourself from STDs is to abstain from unprotected sex. Always use a condom for any kind of intercourse. Homeopathy play very important role in improving patients immunity and help fight infection through body's defense mechanisms. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition described as the failure to create or keep up an erection of the male organ during the act of intercourse. These sorts of issues can happen at any time to any man. Causes of this condition include fatigue, stress, relationship issues, performance anxiety and increased alcohol consumption. There are various factors that can increase your danger of erectile dysfunction. Accomplishing an erection includes the mind, hormones, muscles, nerves, and veins. An issue with any of these factors can hinder the ordinary working and functioning of the organ. Here are a few herbal remedies that can help cure erectile dysfunction:

  1. Tongkat Ali: This herb has been used by men for a long time and has been known as Asian Viagra since it is produced using the roots of a tree that is native to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Tongkat Ali is used for the treatment erectile dysfunction and to increase sexual desire, libido and sexual performance. It is thought to work by expanding levels of testosterone, the primary male hormone.

  2. Schisandra: Coming from a berry, schisandra is respected in the East and was devoured by Chinese sovereignty and Taoist experts. Schisandra has been in use since the start of Chinese human progress and is very important to Chinese pharmaceutical. It is said to be an exceedingly powerful sexual tonic when consumed regularly.

  3. Tribulus terrestrisA barbed plant used as a part of the medicinal system of India for quite a long time, tribulus terrestris' dynamic compounds are found mostly in fruits and leaves. Tribulus is used to reinforce erections and support sexual drive.

  4. Ginseng: Ginseng is an adaptogen that increases the body's capacity to adapt to physical, passionate and environmental stress and anxiety. The more noteworthy the body's requirement for an adaptogen, the undeniably more active the substance gets to be. This medicinal herb ensures that libido and erection are both tackled. Panax ginseng has been said to enhance general sexual working in men with erectile dysfunction. Creams containing the compound are likewise available to treat untimely ejaculation.

  5. Epimedium: This is another herb that has been used for quite a long time in order to treat erectile dysfunction and low libido. A study from 2008 found that the herb blocks and obstructs the impacts of an enzyme that confines the blood flow to the penis. Scientists believe that horny goat weed, otherwise called epimedium, acts as a natural and characteristic phosphodiesterase inhibitor. It has the same action as seen in erectile dysfunction medications, for example, Viagra or Cialis.

Hence, before going to the medical shop and filling yourself up with chemicals, try to take some of these herbs with a prescription in order to treat your problem naturally and more efficiently. All of the above need to be prescribed by a doctor before you use them. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda.

Hello, I am 23, Very private thing, first time discussing with anyone.

Masturbation is just an alternative way of getting sexual pleasure and relaxation just like sexual intercourse itself. It is an unnatural way, rather a perversion, so it is just a personal choice to make. It is inappropriate to term it as good or bad. There are no documented or proven side effects of masturbation on human body. Masturbation is my responsible for your weakness of body, rather hormonal problems or faulty nutrition may be the reason. Masturbation doesnot affect your sexual capabilities at all neither your fertility levels. However repeated use of masturbation for relaxation and allaying sexual excitement may cause psychological dependence on it. Hence it is advisable to also shift to better forms of relaxation other than masturbation like yoga, meditation, physical exercises, music, pursuing hobbies like gardening, outing with friends etc.

Nutrition and Dental Health

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Nutrition and Dental Health

Almost everything you eat and drink has an impact on your oral health, especially your teeth. This impact is not just due to the food's nutritional value, but also because parts of the mouth come in direct contact with the food that is taken. For example, if the teeth come in contact with a compound that has a pH value lower than 5.5, the enamel of teeth can get softened.

The following is a list of the foods, which are good for your teeth:

  1. Dairy products: Milk and most other dairy products are rich in calcium and protein. The cells called osteoblasts absorb calcium and create the protein tissues, which are the building blocks of the skeleton. An added advantage of these foods is that they are low in sugar content, which is beneficial for the teeth.
  2. Water: Fluoridated water is extremely good for bone and dental health. Minerals like chlorine, calcium, phosphorus and fluorine can prevent damage caused by acidic foods.
  3. Dry fruits: Most nuts are protein rich. The processes of biting and chewing also stimulate the salivary glands and saliva helps to clean the mouth and maintain oral health.
  4. Meat: Meat is also high in protein content and so it helps to protect the teeth and replenish the dissolved enamel. Fish and eggs are similarly helpful.

Here is a list of things that you should consume in regulated quantities to maintain dental health:

  1. Citrus fruits: Fruits like lemons, oranges, grapes etc contain citric acid. Acidic foods erode the tooth enamel and so these kinds of fruits should be included in your daily diet in small portions.
  2. Carbonated drinks: Most soft drinks and beverages contain large quantities of sugar. The sugar can be used by the dental plaque (mass of bacteria growing on the inside on the mouth) to produce acids and over time, which gives rise to a thick yellow layer on the teeth, damaging them.
  3. Candied sugar: Foods that are sticky can remain stuck in between the teeth for a very long time and cause decay of the enamel and harm the gums.
