I am 46 yrs, male. My fasting was 198 and pp was 342. After 15 days, it comes down 102 and 154 respectively after taking diabetes food and morning walk without medicine. No one is sugar patient in my generation. It is also first time for me. I am 5 feet 6 inches and weighted 76 kgs. Have to take any medicines for my Diabetes? Or only Morning walk and diet control are sufficient for me?

Till such time your food and exercise is controlling your sugars, you need not worry about medicine. Over a period of time, if there is insulin resistance or production of insulin goes down, then medicines may have to be started.

What is your height and weight? Since you have high bp, you need to take heart healthy diet. Eat lots of veggies Include walnuts and almonds in your diet Fish is good Avocado is good Eat whole grains instead of refined foods- this helps in losing weight Meditation/ yoga good for you 150 minutes of cardio per week recommended.

For your height for BMI 25 your weight target should be not less than 70 Kg. Cut all your food items by 15%. Avoid snacks, fast foods, fried foods, and butter.If you can not opt for workouts opt for yoga.

1. Aim for long term weight loss @ 2-3 Kg per month = 12-15 kgs in 6 months. So on. 2. Add 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet. Double your water intake. 3. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/ Colas/Juices from your diet. 4. Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice/Biryani etc 5. Eat slowly and mindfully. Reduce portion size. 6. Exercise daily - 'Intense' Cardio for 40-60 mins. This will keep you toned and trim. 7. Love yourself and respect your body.

Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips.

For a healthy and effective weight loss, -Cut back on all junk and processed food -Plan your meals: Plan meals ahead of time and make sure they are calorie controlled. Include lots of healthy food such as fruits and vegetables in your diet. Prefer only home cooked meals. First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15 minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.
