My mom is 60 above and suffering from ulcer in mouth for many months now. She is unable to eat properly. Have already changed couple of doctors. Please help and suggest the reasons of these ulcers and treatment. Please doctor.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Gorakhpur
Thease type of ulcers (aphthous ulcers) are stubborn and changing doctors will seldom help to cure it. It will take time so patience is most important thing to follow. Since you have already shown her to few, let her visit an oral medicine specialist. Have my words, once doctor will diagnose the real problem, it will be cured. The ultimate treatment is to go for laser ablation but not before consulting from specialists.

Try to save a knocked out tooth: Place it in milk and seek dental advice immediately.
If tissues are preserved the tooth can be replaced in the socket.

Hi doctor, I am having a black mark under my teeth I don't have any habit of using tobacco or any other. But still there is a black or brown stains in my teeth. I tried changing the brush and tooth paste but nothing worked out so please help me to rectify this problem. Thank you!

BDS, PG diploma In Smile Designing and Esthectics
Dentist, Thane
The black marks may b due two reasons largely. Either due to prolonged use of chlorhexidine mouthwashes or bacterial stains which is due to inherent colour of residual bacteria in ur mouth. Stop mouthwash if u r using ny or get scaling and polishing done to get rid of the stains

Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x/ after every 2 hours. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.

Hi, I want to know Tongue teeth se baar baar katna kya problem hai wo bhi aage se.

Dentist, Delhi
Hi, I want to know Tongue teeth se baar baar katna kya problem hai wo bhi aage se.
If it is occurring rarely, then it might be a problem only temporarily as long as that traumatised area is causing you pain. Agar repeatedly cut Rahi hai then definitely it's a problem that shud be taken care of, as constantly if you are having those cuts in one particular area then there has to be some specific reason for it. You may have to get the cause removed as too much trauma in one particular area can lead to other serious problems. So please consult your doc to find out the reason.

Bone value after tooth loss
In order to restore the ratio of calcium and phosphorus in our blood, and to enable minerals to bond to our teeth, we must also eat health-building foods, containing copious amounts of minerals and vitamins that will build a glassy hard tooth and bone structure .
