Brain Exercises - What Should You Know?

Brain Exercises - What Should You Know?

The brain is not a stagnant realm fed with a granted quota of intelligence and memory at birth. It is always in a state of flux. Exercising your brain in various ways accelerates its ability to perform better. It is in your hands to have a sharper take on situations and occurrences.

Playing games that require brainstorming, solving quizzes, crosswords or playing chess makes you feel rejuvenated and tired at the same time; the reason being activated brain cells. A healthy brain will affect your life decisions positively and you probably will think rightly before you leap.

Tips to exercise those brain cells:

1. Meditate and calm your mind: Ten minutes of meditation each day can help you get over anxiety. When your mind is at peace you think out pros and cons with enhanced insight. This composure reflects in each of your actions. Meditation demands your brain to be quiet when it is accustomed to work. You, therefore, have greater control over it.

2. Music can improve your brain abilities: Music is the best antidote for a sloppy brain. Music excites the neurons healing a bruised memory. It gifts you with clarity of thought. Apart from listening to music one must try to play a musical instrument. Teaching yourself things puts your mind through a strict regimen of constructive activities.

3. Take out time to learn a new language: We are paralyzed the minute our brain gives up. Due to several external and internal reasons, each one of us is likely to suffer from cognitive disorders on being subjected to extreme pressure or shock. Trying to learn a new language motivate your brain cells to have a wider vocabulary, which further restricts your chances of brain damage.

4. Mental mathematics could better your intelligence: Calculators, computers and phones are ridding us of our ability to compute individual data. Computation and consolidation of data helps your mind to work faster with precision. So, you now know those lessons on mental mathematics in childhood were actually the key to a well-rounded brain.

5. Think of something novel: The more the number of neurons the merrier is your brain. Take pains to direct your mind on a novel track. Thinking beyond what is given and expected helps your brain grow new neurons. It builds up your creativity letting you discover more of your capabilities.

Tummy Tuck Surgery - Know Forms Of It!

Tummy Tuck Surgery - Know Forms Of It!

A Tummy tuck surgery is also called Abdominoplasty. This cosmetic surgical procedure helps to improve the abdomen appearance. People having excess or flabby skin on the abdomen that does not improve with exercise or diet undergo Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty.

In this type of surgery, the extra skin and fat are removed to flattens the abdomen. After the removal of fat, doctors tighten the muscles and connective tissues with the help of sutures.

A Tummy Tuck surgery is one of the best suitable surgical procedures for those who have excess skin or fat around the belly button and a weak lower abdominal wall. This surgery will boost the overall image of the body. It is major surgery for contouring the body.

Most people think that Tummy Tuck surgery is similar to Liposuction. However, both are different. Although, one can also get Liposuction along with Tummy Tuck for better results and benefits.

Why Is Tummy Tuck Surgery Done?

Flabby skin of the abdomen is not just caused by deposition of fat, but also by excess skin, the elasticity of the skin, or stretching of abdominal muscles and connective tissues. The inner griddle of connective tissues (abdominal fascia) is responsible for holding the internal organs and appearance of the abdomen.

When the abdominal fascia and muscles get stretched, the abdomen is prone to swell. This generally occurs after pregnancy or weight changes. A Tummy Tuck is done to remove the excess, loose, and flabby skin and tightens the weak abdominal wall as well. A Tummy Tuck surgery is also beneficial for minimizing the effect of stretch marks on the lower abdominal part.

Who Is Eligible For Tummy Tuck Surgery?

Both men and women having good health are eligible for Tummy Tuck. This surgery is suitable for:

  1. Women who have had multiple pregnancies may go for Tummy Tuck surgery for tightening and removing the extra skin of the abdomen.

  2. Obese people in removing the extra fat that deposits around the belly.

  3. People having a weak lower abdominal wall.

  4. Cases, where Liposuction did not help in improving the appearance of the abdomen significantly.

  5. Women who have had C-section previously and want to remove the scar.

Who Is Not Eligible For Tummy Tuck Surgery?

Tummy Tuck surgery is very useful. However, it is not for everyone. Here are some of the scenario, where the doctors advise to avoid Tummy Tuck:

  1. People who plan to lose significant weight. Tummy Tuck is applicable when all the other options fail. It is not an alternative option for Weight Loss.

  2. Women who might consider future pregnancy. In Tummy Tuck, the muscles get tight, but future pregnancy can minimize its effect as it will separate the muscles.

  3. People having chronic conditions like Diabetes, Heart Problems, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

  4. People Having a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30.

Types of Tummy Tuck Surgery (Abdominoplasty):

There are two types of Tummy Tuck surgery or Abdominoplasty doctors advise and perform depending upon the condition and need of the patient. They are:

  1. Complete Abdominoplasty: In this type of surgery, the surgeons will cut the abdomen from hipbone to hipbone contouring the tissue, skin, and muscles as required. The surgeon will move the belly button in this surgery and a person requires a drainage tube for some days.

  2. Partial Abdominoplasty: It is also known as Mini-Abdominoplasty and can perform on people whose fat deposits below the navel. In this type of surgery, the surgeon will not move the belly button and take only a few hours depending upon the amount of deposition of the fat.

Precaution For Tummy Tuck Surgery:

Before going for Tummy Tuck surgery people should follow instructions such as:

  1. Stop or quit smoking as it can affect blood circulation and lower the healing process.

  2. Avoid medications such as anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, and herbal supplements as these will increase the bleeding.

  3. Maintain a stable weight for at least 12 months.

  4. Take medication like anticoagulant to prevent complications.

  5. Have someone to help during the procedure. An experience one is recommended to understand the situation well.

Procedure of Tummy Tuck:

Before going for the surgery, the doctor will review the medical history of a person by asking a few questions. Based on medical history, he will perform a physical examination. If the results are positive, a surgical team will do a Tummy Tuck operation under anesthesia.

The surgeons will make a small incision on the abdomen to remove the excess fat and skin and pubic hair in elliptical or horizontal oval shape.

After the removal, the abdominal fascia lies on the muscles of the abdomen will be tightened with the help of sutures. The plastic surgeon will then reposition the remaining skin around the belly button. The incision will also be stitched in such a way to appear as the natural crease of the bikini line. A person may also be given an antibiotic to lower the risk of complications and infections.

This procedure will generally take up to three hours.

Take Away:

Most people love the after effect of Tummy Tuck Surgery. However, it is important to follow the instructions prescribed by the surgeon or doctor for better results. It is always advisable to at least take care for six weeks after Tummy Tuck surgery. One may also maintain a healthy lifestyle for proper recovery.

Suicidal Thoughts - How To Handle It In Others?

Suicidal Thoughts - How To Handle It In Others?

Although there is no single reason why someone may have suicidal tendencies, certain things can increase the risk. An individual is more likely to have suicidal thoughts if he has a mental health condition like depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The vulnerability also increases in cases of alcoholism, drug abuse or poor job security. It may not be possible to prevent suicidal thoughts, but keeping one's mind healthy with regular exercise, healthy eating and maintaining friendships can help one deal better with stress

It can be very upsetting, when someone says things which sound as if the person is considering suicide. One may not be sure what to do to help as to whether one should take talk of suicide seriously, or if intervention might make the situation worse. Taking action is always the best choice. One of the best things one can do if someone is feeling suicidal is to encourage them to talk about their feelings and to listen to what they say. One can provide the best help by listening and not being judgemental. If the person has been diagnosed with a mental health condition like depression, one can take advice from his care team.

One should avoid offering solutions. While listening, do not give in to the temptation of providing a solution. One should ask open-ended questions so that the person remains in control and expresses his feelings. On the contrary, it will offer an opportunity to talk about feelings which may reduce the risk of acting on suicidal feelings. Ensure that the person is not left on his own, if there is immediate danger. One cannot always tell when a loved one or friend is considering suicide, so one must be on the lookout for warning signs. The warning signs could be talking about suicide, buying or stocking pills, withdrawing from social life, increase in alcohol or drugs, personality changes like severely agitated and saying goodbye to people as if seeing them for the last time. It is also important that one does not make judgements about how a person is thinking or behaving.

After listening to their feelings, one may feel that certain aspects of their thinking and behaviour are making their problems worse. But pointing this out will not be particularly helpful to them. Reassurance, respect and support will only help someone during these difficult periods. As a final note, one must realise that talking to someone about their feelings is not long lasting and can help them feel safe and secure temporarily. A professional help can provide the long-term support to help someone overcome their suicidal tendencies. That will the person to deal with the primary issues behind someone's suicidal thoughts, besides offering advice and support.

Depression - Know More About It!

Depression - Know More About It!

Depression is a serious yet common mental health problem that can affect all age groups ranging from young children to the elderly. It is found to be more common among women when compared to men. It can take a toll over one’s peace of mind, physical health, interpersonal relationships as well as job performance (or academic performance). What is deceiving is, the person can also be functioning well, in which case, it can go unnoticed, leading to grave consequences. The good news is that depression is treatable and individuals are able to function much better with treatment. Affected individuals feel sad most of the time. He/she loses the ability to enjoy/be happy.

As a result of this, the daily activities that he/she participates in do not seem to appeal to him/her anymore. This is especially true in the case of socialising. The affected person will just seem to drop out of social circles. This can be said to be ironic because it is times like these when the individual with depression is in need of friends the most!

The individual seems to have an overriding belief that the status quo will not be altered by anything and he or she will be stuck in a rut in perpetuity. In other words, depressed people experience a perennial feeling of helplessness. Negative thoughts can also drive one to commit suicide.

A lot of people who have depression tend to experience a loss of energy. As a matter of fact, this is quite the case with men who enter a phase of depression, as the symptoms which are displayed by them can contrast sharply to those displayed by women. One of the reasons for men tending to report a higher chance of this than women is the fact that they are less likely to express feelings of self-loathing. Rather, they usually talk about sleep problems and a loss of interest in things that once they might have found to be interesting or even captivating. They also gradually get quite irritable.

When it comes to women, guilt is quite likely to be felt. They may also sleep a lot longer than what is considered to be normal. Eating habits are a better indication of the presence or absence of depression than most people would realise. Overeating is one of the prime signs, especially in the case of women who are depressed. This leads to them putting on weight, as the rise in the intake of food is compounded by a drop in the amount of healthy physical activity. On the other hand, many may also experience loss of appetite, which over a period of time can even lead to weight loss. Some women who are depressed also complain of aches and pains in the body.

A few individuals who are depressed also complain of weird experiences, like being able to hear voices calling out to them, abusing them in dirty language, asking them to hurt themselves (hallucinations). Some may be found to be extremely suspicious about people around them.

Uterine Fibroids - Know The Causes & Symptoms Of It!

Uterine Fibroids - Know The Causes & Symptoms Of It!

Uterine fibroids are referred to as benign, abnormal growths which tend to develop in the uterine walls of a woman. The size of such growths can range from a few centimeters to even excess of a few inches. As such, they can cause the uterus to increase to the size of a five month pregnancy.

Although, the symptoms of fibroids are not always apparent, they often cause heavy bleeding and pain in women. A recent research concluded that around 60 to 75 percent women contract such fibroids by the age of 50, at least once in their life.

Depending on the site of formation, uterine fibroids are distinguished into different types. Intramural fibroids in the lining of the uterus and subserosal fibroids which develop outside the uterus are the most commonly observed fibroids.

What causes Uterine Fibroids?

Although, the exact reason for the formation of fibroids are obscure, medical professionals have determined certain factors that may affect their formation. Some of them are:

1) Hormones: Progesterone and estrogen, produced by the ovaries regenerate the uterine lining during each menstrual cycle and trigger the growth of fibroids.
2) Family history: If you have had a family history of uterine fibroids, then you're likely to develop the condition yourself as well.
3) Pregnancy: The production of progesterone and estrogen increases during pregnancy which increases the likelihood of fibroids.

What are the signs of the condition?

Depending on the location and size of the tumors, symptoms of such fibroids include:

1) Heavy bleeding and blood clots during periods
2) Pain in the pelvis
3) Frequent menstrual cramps
4) Pressure and pain in the lower abdomen
5) Swelling in the abdomen
6) Pain while intercourse

What is the procedure of the treatment?

Ultrasound and pelvic MRI are common diagnostic procedures to check for uterine fibroids. After diagnosis, depending on your age, size of the fibroid and your comprehensive health, the doctor would prescribe you with appropriate medications. Only after medications prove futile, doctors opt for minimally invasive surgeries.

Build Your Confidence!

Build Your Confidence!

Tips to enhance your confidence and get over your psychological fear:

1. For confidence building Visualize Your Best Self. Just like athletes visualize their performance before a race/game, visualizing your best self first thing in the morning is incredibly powerful. It “warms up” your mind for the day, and reprograms your subconscious mind by reinforcing the right neural pathways. Give it a shot tomorrow and see how you feel.

2.Exercise. Research shows that exercise can actually increase your overall self-confidence. After a good workout, you will feel so good about yourself, I assure you. The more consistent you are with it, the stronger your confidence gets. It’s not only benefiting your confidence but you’re becoming a healthier person overall.

3. Self-care is key to your success. Wear clothes that fit your body. Personally, I feel very confident in a suit. If you're dressed better than anyone in the room, you will be more confident. Respect your body and your body will respect you.

4. Arrive early. It’s tough to be confident if you arrive late. You’re rushed and flustered. When you arrive early, you feel more prepared. There is confidence in preparation.

5. Realize Everyone Else is Human. This is very fundamental and a good place to start. Whenever you’re about to interact with someone and you feel your confidence dwindling, remember that that boy is human just like you. No matter who they are, how successful or beautiful they are, I guarantee you they have their own doubts and insecurities… and they’re probably much more concerned about what you’ll think of them than what they think of you!

Ultimately, all of us are looking for the same thing: meaningful connection with one another. Why get scared? Hang around people that lift you up. Are you more confident around a group of your close friends, or strangers? Probably your close friends. Be around people that live you up. Get plenty of sleep. It's tough to feel confident if you slept for 3 hours and feel like dog shit. Get more sleep.

Say it you to yourself- “I am totally independent of the good or bad opinions of others.” “I am confident, I am powerful, I am [enter your name].” “Every day in every way, I’m getting stronger and stronger.” Celebrate your success. Every time something good happens to you, take time to celebrate it. Get Energized. Whenever you need a confidence boost, jump around, shake your body, put some pump up music and get energized. For more confidence hack search on youtube “ The Mastery Guide Youtube” or you can search “ Improvement Source” here you will get many books to review about self-esteem and self-confidence.

I am 21 years old male I have scars marks and black heads and tanning what should I do?
1.Toothpaste-- you just apply a thin layer of toothpaste on the affected area and leave it dry for 25 minutes, then rinse it. You are advised to do that every two days and maintain this work during two weeks. 2.Lemon-- to remove blackheads on the nose with lemon, you can apply one of the three following methods: you wash your face with lukewarm water before applying a mixture of one lemon juice with a little salt on the nose. Then, you leave it for 20 minutes before rinsing the face skin with lukewarm water. You mix 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, 3 tablespoons of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Then, you stir the mixture to apply to the nose. After that, you wait 5 to 7 minutes before cleaning the face with water. You blend lemon juice with cinnamon powder and apply them to the nose and keep it overnight. 3.Oatmeal-- you simply mix oatmeal and rose water to create the glutinous flour. You use the hands to spread it on the nose or the entire face. About 15 minutes later, you wash the face with water. You will feel that the skin in this area become smoother and brighter. You should apply this method several times a week to quickly remove blackheads. 4.Rice water-- you soak rice in fresh milk or cold water for 5 hours, then put it to the grinder and wait until the rice, water, and milk combine with each other to form a dense mixture which is then applied to the nose. When it becomes dry, you remove the mask from the nose and clean the nose with water. 5.Coriander-- to have a mask made from coriander, you need to pick a wisp of fresh coriander that is mixed with water to grind finely. Then, you blend this mixture with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and put it on the nose. After waiting 15 minutes, you clean the nose thoroughly. It is suggested to do that every day so that blackheads will be swept away. Coriander juice is mixed with lemon juice in the same proportion. Then, you apply the solution to the nose or the affected skin. Then, you leave it for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse the face thoroughly. 6.Honey-- the simplest way to treat blackheads is to gently rub the honey to the nose and the affected area. You leave it for about 15 minutes before cleaning the face with water. Another way is to blend 1 teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of aloe vera juice to spread on the blackheads. 15 minutes later, you rinse with lukewarm water.

I am 19 years old male and I have many pimples and dark spots on my face. What should I do now?

I am 19 years old male and I have many pimples and dark spots on my face. What should I do now?
To prevent pimples, eat fresh fruits, green vegetables, drinking plenty of water should be an essential part of your routine and intake of oily fried foods, an excess of sugar-salt should be avoided. Don't peal pimples, as they tend to leave scars. For swollen pimples, gently apply ice for a minute or so. Just don't keep the ice on so long that it irritates your skin. Tea tree oil can kill bacteria. Some people use it to treat minor skin irritations, including acne. There isn't much research on how effective it is, but tea tree oil is safe to put directly on your skin in a diluted form. Try it on a small area first to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction. Simple honey maskbefore applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Yeast and yogurt mask for oily skin oily skin is prone to acne, and this home remedy can reduce excess oil and help clear acne. To make the mask, combine 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores. For permanent cure you need constitutional medicines, for that I need detailed case history.
