Dear , anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness. There are a number of anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder, a specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and panic disorder among others. While each has its own characteristics and symptoms, they all include symptoms of anxiety. I need to know more about your anxiety so that I will be able to diagnose it properly and provide you tips to overcome and manage your anxiety. Take care.

What is the home remedies to get rid off stammering problem I am facing the same for 15 years.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Stammering can be made lesser only and only by speech therapy. So you should take the help of a speech therapist. Also, i'd suggest you to visit a psychologist as confidence plays a great role in dealing with this problem. I'd suggest you to speak very slowly, word by word. People may make fun of this but believe me, slowly you'll get better at it. Hope your query is answered. Wishing you good health.

Intimacy - It Is All About Teasing The Senses!

Intimacy - It Is All About Teasing The Senses!

Here is a list of 3 scientifically proven ways of increasing intimacy with your partner.

1. Look them in the eye and tell them all about yourself

Self-disclosure is an important part of relationships, especially during the initial phase. However, gradually as people feel that they've known enough about each other, communication seems to come to a standstill. But the actual reason for this is not the lack of things to talk about but resistance which arises out of a feeling of vulnerability. It mostly happens in established relationships because both the partners do not wish to break past the certainty and assurance.

Therefore, the revealing part that may lead to some changes in perception is often skipped. However, not doing so and truly communicating with your partner can help you in increasing intimacy and having a deeper connection with your partner.

2. Share the laughter

Sharing the joy and the humorous experiences is a great way of increasing intimacy with your partner. Since every person's sense of humour is different, humour is a deeply personal aspect of your personality. Therefore, when you share genuine laughter with your partner that is when your sense of humour matches with each other, it improves your understanding and builds intimacy.

3. Tell them how you feel and know how they feel

It is extremely important for you to talk with your partner about how you feel - not just about the relationship, but about other important aspects of your life as well. If conflicts are dealt with by discussing how you feel about them and not on the lines of rationality, you end up feeling more intimate with your partner. Honestly discussing and exchanging your feelings is an amazing way of increasing your intimacy with your partner. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Psychologist.

It seems that you are scared to talk to people. The desire is there but the fear is crippling you. You need to meet with a counselor to deal with this fear and learn how to express the feeling as well as to reach out. Are you afraid that you may not speak well, or that your ideas are not that good, or that people will judge you, or that they will find out about how poor you are intellectually, etc? these are unnecessary dialogues you have and they are not true at all. When people are in conversation, we are listening to information and how you present the same. You are very harsh on yourself and have decided, for some reason, that you are not good enough. You may have been reprimanded in childhood for speaking or your parents may have been too strict at home. These could intimidate you when you are to speak in front of people. All these matters must be taken up with the counselor. Start talking to people at home first, particularly children, and slowly grade up to older teens and then to adults, as you build confidence. If you prepare and rehearse the conversation you are likely to have, you will do very well when you actually do it. Now there is no guarantee that whatever you prepared is going to be the exact conversation but since you are prepared most of the conversation will go according to script and the rest will be easy to handle because they will be minor deviations from the main course. You could attend the toastmasters club, and go for conversational skills courses too. Good social practice will eventually see you through. Nothing will happen, if you are passive about this. For your information public speaking is the number one fear of all mankind. Yet, people speak and appear so confident: it is because they use the fear to advantage and prepare themselves well. So you are not alone.

Sir I need brain. Tablet which help to memorize. Is there any brain enhancement tablet or capsule.

MBBS
General Physician, Fatehabad
Hi lybrate-user, Our brains are powerful organic machines. They control all thought, movement, and sensation while calculating and reacting with blistering speed. They store an immense amount of data as images, text, and concepts. Our brains also regulate thousands of complex functions, usually without bothering the conscious us with the exact details, such as with circadian rhythm, hormone balance, breathing, unconscious activity, and blood flow. This means the brain is constantly working, even when we sleep. Here are some options for you: 1. Coconut Oil - Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides that the body uses for energy, leaving glucose for the brain. It also seems to have a beneficial effect on blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Anything that benefits the heart and circulation also benefits the brain. 2. Beans and Legumes - Beans and legumes are excellent sources of complex carbohydrates. These complex carbohydrates are also mixed with fiber that slows absorption, giving us a steady supply of glucose for the brain without the risks of sugar spikes associated with many other sugar sources. Beans and legumes are also rich in folate—a B vitamin critical to brain function—and essential omega fatty acids. 3. Broccoli - Broccoli is a superfood for the whole body. It is rich in calcium, vitamin C, B vitamins, beta-carotene, iron, fiber, and vitamin K. These nutrients protect against free radicals, keep blood flowing well, and remove heavy metals that can damage the brain. 4. Nuts - Nuts, especially walnuts and almonds, are extremely good for the brain and nervous system. They are great sources of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin B6, and vitamin E. Vitamin E has been shown to prevent many forms of dementia by protecting the brain from free radicals, and it improves brain power. Nuts contain some anti-nutrients, like phytic acid. Since we consume a relatively small amount of nuts, this isn’t a huge problem, but they are far healthier if you soak them overnight (about 8 hours) before eating them. 5. Dark Chocolate - The flavonols in chocolate improve blood vessel function, which in turn improves cognitive function and memory. Chocolate also improves mood, can ease pain, and is full of antioxidants. 6. Whole Grains - Whole grains are rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, and some omega 3 fatty acids that shield the heart and brain from damaging sugar spikes, cholesterol, blood clots, and more. Grains also contain B vitamins that have an effect on blood flow to the brain and mood. Whole grains should be soaked, fermented, sprouted, or grown as microgreens to unlock all their nutritional power and minimize any anti-nutrients. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I can understand your problem and the guilt feeling resulting from it. But do not loose heart. There is a way out. Every problem in this world has a definite solution. Do believe in that. Your negative thought about your own family members is only a learned behavior, and anything learned can be unlearned, if you have a strong will to change. Let me give you 3 practical suggestions. 1. I think you are not married yet, and if I am right, get married as soon as possible. It may bring down your negative thoughts to a substantial extent. 2. Stay away from your home at least for a year (more is better) on grounds of any job or work, in a distant location. 3. Everyday, sit in a quite place with closed eyes, actively imagine that you are interacting with your family members one by one with appropriate relationships, i. E. Behaving a good brother with your sister and a good son with your mother and so on. Follow these suggestions with full confidence you will certainly find a way out. Nothing is impossible. Hope for the best.

shall I use saraswathi lehyam. Does it really works I mean does it really improves memory power. How should I use it?

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear lybrate user, welcome to lybrate. Saraswatha lehyam is good for memory. You can take one spoon at night before bed time. Memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. Take care.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Your daughter is just 3 and half years. Please consider her age. Children do act according to what they are trained for. You must understand you can easily train your child to do whatever you want. For training you have to first understand the child and her needs. You can use trial and error method or reward punishment method. If you don't have time, a psychologist should help you. I suggest online behaviour therapy for your child. Take care.

Generalised anxiety disorder usually doesn't result form any brain pathology so MRI or CT scans might turn out to be normal, even if you go for them. Management of generalised anxiety includes medications and practising relaxation exercises in cohesion so that relapses are prevented. Also presence of other psychological problems or hormonal disturbances need to be evaluated too. Consult a psychiatrist in your vicinity for treatment. For online management and queries regarding the same you may consult me online with details of treatments done so far. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user, Unfortunately, breaking the cycle isn’t as easy as just snapping out of it. Simply telling yourself to stop is like pushing a beach ball under the water. The harder you push, the farther it will pop up. But there are a few strategies that, applied with patience, can keep overthinking from overtaking your life. 1. If You Can, Take Action - If the trouble is specific and solvable, try to turn it into a concrete solution. Writing it down may help. Rephrase the issue to reflect the positive outcome you’re looking for. Obviously this approach won’t work if you’re agonizing about what has happened to you in the past. You can’t change history. You have to shift your focus from rehashing the event to addressing the consequences. 2. Challenge Your Beliefs - You can cultivate a little psychological distance by generating other interpretations of the situation, which makes your negative thoughts less believable. His is called cognitive restructuring. Essentially it means that you’re putting your thoughts on trial and challenging their accuracy. 3. Redirect Your Attention - We recommends a physical activity that combines mental engagement and social contact, such as tennis or a brisk nature walk with a friend. 4. Resist the Urge to “Talk It Out” - Brainstorming solutions with a friend is great. But dissecting and constantly revisiting negative details of a problem with someone is co-rumination and can send you further into despair. 5. Observe Mindfulness - It’s difficult to control what you think. But those thoughts don’t have to control you. One way to manage ruminative thinking is through mindfulness, a form of meditation that consists of simply focusing on the present moment without judgment. Try noticing your thoughts as if they were leaves floating by in a stream. Watching your ruminative thoughts without engaging with them can turn the volume down. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Never be like an isolated island; we are social beings! If you form wide networks where you can actually communicate about your problems, then you find a support system thereby adding years to your life. On the other hand, if you face your life's stresses alone without any shoulders to cry on, you tend to get older fast. With someone?s support and love, your inner aging can be considerably reduced. So, never hesitate to reach out to your relatives and friends whenever you are in need of their help.
