Dear Lybrate-user, It is good to hear that you want to stop alcohol, alcohol can damage Liver, Liver is one of the main Organ in our body it produces enzymes from food which we eat, do not stop at once try to reduce quantity first and then Frequency (if you are drinking daily make it weekly twice for 1 or 2 months then stop slowly). If you need any support have counseling help consult by in-person or audio(phone)/video.

How much alcohol can I drink before driving? What are the health risks of drinking too much alcohol?

How much alcohol can I drink before driving?
What are the health risks of drinking too much alcohol?
According to the law, more than 30 ml of spirit like whisky/ vodka will raise the blood alcohol level in the illegal range. But alcohol affects different individuals differently because of difference in metabolism. It's better to not drive after drinking. Prolonged and heavy consumption of alcohols affects liver leading to fatty liver and eventually cirrhosis which is life threatening. It affects brain and can trigger psychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety, mood swings, delusions and even hallucinations. Alcohol induced jealousy is major cause of distress in relationships. Thiamin defeciancy can kead to memory disturbances abd encephalopathy. Peripheral neuropathy is another consequence leading to severe pain and burning in limbs.

It's good that you acknowledge the fact that you are unable to control use of your mobile. This usually happens when you start feeling a" vaccum" when you are away from your mobile, a feeling that" you are disconnected from" the world. This feeling itself is false. I may need a complete daily schedule of mobile use as to how much time you talk, you message, you use fb, what's app, games etc. Let me also know the symptoms you face when you try to be away from your mobile? you need a behavior therapy along with some anxiolytics to keep your urge under control.

Hi lybrate-user, I am glad that you recognize the fact that you are a hardworker and must have put in your best foot forward for upcoming exam. I guess what you are calling depression may be examination anxiety which is pretty common amongst people to experience before any exam. And if you do not take charge of yourself then it will be difficult for you to focus on exam. What you can do is to sit for five minutes with your eyes closed and do deep breathing, let the thoughts enter in your mind but you do not pay heed to them. Once you are relaxed then visualize yourself sitting in the exam hall, and attempting all questions confidently. I am sure you shall be able to crack this exam when yoy focus on your abilities and be confident that you will come out with flying colours. Eat light nutritious diet and sleep for at least 6/7 hour before the night of exam. During exam read all the questions carefully and do not panic if you think you don't know the answer of any question. First attend those questions you are confident about answering, then those you are less confident and lastly those whose answer you may know if you think carefully. Do not panic at any stage. Do not worry you are in control and keep reassuring yourself that you can do it. Good luck for the exam.

Dear, you must be able to understand concentration, attention span, recollection and distraction. If you are able to watch a movie for two hours continuously, if you are able to play a game for an hour, then you do not have any concentration problems. You can't be attentive towards your studies because you are not interested in it. You are able to watch movie and play game because you are interested in it. Human cannot be attentive towards anything for more than 10 minutes. Then you should study in such a way that your attention is continued and make the subjects are interesting to you. Effective learning techniques should help you. Recollection depends on anxiety, stress and other physical and circumstantial factors. Distractions while studying are plentiful. You should be able to overcome distractions or avoid distractions. Please understand the above. Change your study style and attitude accordingly. Take care.
