Ayurvedic Remedies for Leg Pain

Ayurvedic Remedies for Leg Pain

Joint pains or muscles cramps are the usual suspects when it comes to leg pain. Joint pains are usually a symptom of arthritis, a common occurrence during old age. Leg muscles are mostly affected by muscle cramps. From an Ayurvedic point of view, all pains are caused by the vata dosha.

What are doshas?
The doshas define the natural inclination of the body and they comprise the three main energies that affect your health and well-being. The three doshas are Pitta, Vata and Kapha. Thus in Ayurveda, pain is caused when the doshas are vitiated. In Ayurveda, ama is the name given to the toxic materials in the body that are caused by improper indigestion. Therefore, pain occurs when there is too much ama build-up in your body.

Useful herbs for treating leg pain:

  1. Clove: It provides instant relief from pain, especially if they are due to muscle cramps. Apply clove oil in a poultice over the affected area.
  2. Ginger: Since ginger has great painkiller properties, it can be added to a regular diet to deal with chronic leg pain.
  3. Liquorice: Muscle aches can be treated with liquorice roots infused in water overnight.
  4. Madhuca: Applying madhuca oil over leg pains, especially if they are due to rheumatism, then it can give great results.
  5. Pepper: Pepper aids in proper blood circulation by helping dilating the superficial blood vessels.

Dietary regulations for leg pain: To help with chronic leg pain, leafy vegetables, green vegetables, Vitamin C-rich foods, plantains that are rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium must be consumed. Coffee and chocolate must be avoided at all costs. The consumption of water cannot be stressed enough as one of the leading causes of leg pain is dehydration of insufficient fluids in the body. Water helps flush out the toxins in the body, thus getting rid of the vitiated doshas.

Ayurvedic treatment for leg pain: For external use, Mahanarayana Tailam is extremely effective. Warming the oil before application will give best results. For internal use, Simhanada Guggulu, a mild laxative, Laxmi Vilas rasa and Pratapa Lankeshwara Rasa are prescribed.

I am 30 yr old (M). My height is 168cm. I weigh only 45kg. I am underweight according to my height. I eat a lot but have been this way for the past 10 years. My weight varies between 45 and 48. What may be the reason and how can i increase to a recommended weight?

It depends upon individual person's metabolic rate: If your body is burning more calories than you are taking - your weight would reduce. Second thing how active you are? As such you need to eat 1 gm of protein per kg of your ideal body wt - i.e. 70 gms protein. If you are in Bangalore, or you want to do a diet consultation, it will take one hr to identify exactly what you are doing insufficient and what should be done now in order to gain healthy weight. I will tell you in much details.

Please note the following in respect to your queries: Just the art of sitting can make your butt look worse, believe it or not. If you have a desk job, it can actually flatten the collagen fibers in your butt by sitting all day, so try standing and walking around as much as possible. If you work at home, try to create an area you can turn into a standing desk so you’re not sitting down all day. It’s not bad to sit a little at home to rest, but remember that the more you sit, the less work your butt has to do! When trying to lose fat fast anywhere on your body, especially your butt, try High Intense Interval Training, known as HIIT. This is an intense workout that causes you to change positions quickly and fast for short amounts of time. The high bursts of energy burn fat faster and longer, giving you results faster. Yoga is one of the best exercises you can do for your butt. It makes you hold certain positions longer, which strengthens the muscles to burn fat and tone your butt! Plus, it’s incredibly relaxing as a double benefit!

1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. I am 28 year old man and I want to loose some fat of my stomach and things so what should I do?

I am 28 year old man and I want to loose some fat of my stomach and things so what should I do?
A little bit of belly fat is actually good for you: it protects your stomach, intestines, and other delicate organs. But too much fat is anything but healthy. Extra fat cells deep in your abdomen (aka visceral fat) generate adipose hormones and adipokines?chemical troublemakers that travel to your blood vessels and organs, where they cause inflammation that can contribute to problems like heart disease and diabetes. The good news? Every pound you shed can help reduce your girth. "Once women start losing weight, they typically lose 30% more abdominal fat Abdominal Crunches: ? Lay down flat on the floor. ? Bend the knees with feet on the floor. ? Place your hands by the side of your ears. ? Take a deep breath. ? Crunch up lifting the head and chest a bit. The aim is to try and touch the knees with the forehead. But do not try to do it in the first attempt. Give your body some time. ? Now move down gradually, exhaling the air. Descending movement must be slower than the crunch up movement. Repeat the steps 5 to 10 times some tips ? Squeeze a lemon in a cup of warm water. Drink this water as soon as you get up in the morning. Drink lots of water throughout the day, keep yourself well hydrated. ? Drink green tea in the morning. It has antioxidants that help the body to burn fat and detoxify. Eliminate all juice (except natural pomegranate juice) and soft drinks from your diet. Drink only 1 cup of coffee a day. ? Avoid junk food at all cost. ? Start exercising. Do hour to 45 minutes of cardio, preferably walking on an incline every day. Do light weight training for upper body three times a week. ? Snack on a small amount of almonds (5 at a time) throughout the day (4 times a day maximum). any querries inform me?
