I just read about the benefits of alcoholic drinks. What should be the proper amount (for beer, whisky, rum and wine) and frequency of drinking so it's not harmful?

Alcohol is harmful, to make it less harm you can add lemon drops when mixing water, do not add cool drinks iMPORTANT,; Take half an hour to consume 30 ml of alcohol, because our liver need that time for metabolism.

Hello sir.
How I burn fat on my stomach in two or three months. And please tell me its possible or not?
Thanks.
Dear lybrate-user, I can plan your daily diet according to your lifestyle and food habits. Below are few tips for weight loss: 1. Eat small and frequent 4 -5 meals in a day, instead of 3 heavy meals. 2. Include high-protein foods like milk and milk products, paneer, dals, soybeans, eggs, chicken/fish (if non-vegetarian). Reduce excess carbohydrate intake like rice, banana, chips, burgers, pizzas, etc 3. Minimize sugar intake in the form of sweets, cakes, pastries, chocolates, etc 4. Use less of oil to cook your food as well as stop eating fried stuff like puris, chips, samosas, etc. 5. Drink 3 -4 lts of water daily. 6. Include 30 minutes brisk walks 5-6 times a week.

I m working on gym in now days and I want to grow muscles no fat so what I should take the best diet for a week?

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
These people who are extremely thin also tend to go with unhealthy food and junk to add extra fat to the body before going with natural process to gain weight. For all those who want to put on weight are suggested to keep distance from junk foods which are not healthy for the body, since they are surely going add weight to the body but at the same time they also are said to add bad fat to the body. Go only with the foods which are said to increase nutrient intake for the body and provide with sufficient energy, some of these foods have been listed below for simplicity: Salmon Tuna Paneer Soya beans Soya paneer-tofu Eggs Shrimps Granola bars Cheese Paneer Yoghurt Walnuts Dates Apricots Anjeer Raisins Nuts and oil seeds Peanut butter Chicken breast Gaining weight is not an excuse to get fat and schedule daily visits to all-you-can buffets. I suggest you begin implementing one principle each week and watch your body stack on more muscle to your frame each week

My weight is very less compare to my age. Help me how to grow up my body.
Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

You may continue taking the prescribed medicines, but I think time you realised that medicine is giving you only interim relief, the moment you stop taking medicine, you begin to feel uncomfortable. Our physical reactions are not only controlled physiologically but are impacted by our thought process. I recommend that you meet a psychologist and work on your feelings and thoughts- unless you challenge the irrationality of your fears and your thoughts, you will continue having these difficulties. Eventually you will land up taking higher doses of the medicines to calm yourself. Yoga and sudharshan kriya are good ways of relaxation but you will require cognitive behaviour therapy (cbt), or some other form of psychotherapy as a permanent solution to your fears.

Hi lybrate-user, Yes it is curable with the right kind of treatment. Some people get fine after a year or two some have to take for a longer period. Consider it like any other disorder- hypertension etc. So don't bother about medicines your health needs to get better. Stick to one doctor and complete full course eventually the dosage will be reduced. Apart from that for negative thoughts practice Mindful Breathing The primary goal of mindful breathing is simply a calm, nonjudging awareness, allowing thoughts and feelings to come and go without getting caught up in them. Sit comfortably, with your eyes closed and your spine reasonably straight. Bring your attention to your breathing. Imagine that you have a balloon in your tummy. Every time you breathe in, the balloon inflates. Each time you breathe out, the balloon deflates. Notice the sensations in your abdomen as the balloon inflates and deflates. Your abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the out-breath. Thoughts will come into your mind, and that’s okay, because that’s just what the human mind does. Simply notice those thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing. Likewise, you can notice sounds, physical feelings, and emotions, and again, just bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to follow those thoughts or feelings, don’t judge yourself for having them, or analyse them in any way. It’s okay for the thoughts to be there. Just notice those thoughts, and let them drift on by, bringing your attention back to your breathing. Whenever you notice that your attention has drifted off and is becoming caught up in thoughts or feelings, simply note that the attention has drifted, and then gently bring the attention back to your breathing. It's okay and natural for thoughts to enter into your awareness, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing. Consult a psychologist for therapy and need not worry. All the best.

It is very important for you to remove fried foods from your diet if you have any intentions of losing weight. • Make sure that you do not include fried chicken, fried meat, fried rice or any other fried snacks in your daily diet. • If you completely eliminate fried foods you can see remarkable changes in your weight in a month or two.
