Sedentary lifestyle & poor diet are major contributors to obesity nowadays. Start brisk walking daily for an hour (pref early morning). Walk instead of hiring a transport (as much as possible). Do not sit continuously for an hour. Take 15 mins light walk after meals & do not sleep within 1 hour of main meals. Have small frequent meals. Include plenty of whole fruits & vegetables in your diet. Drink 3 litres water daily. Avoid soft drinks, alcohol, fast/ processed/ packaged/ ready to eat/ instant foods, table salt, sugar & related products. Replace refined grains like maida, rice, bread, biscuits, noodles with whole grains like atta, bajra, ragi, jowar, barley, oats.

International Women's Health Day - Common Gynaecological Problems & Ways to Prevent Them!

Women’s anatomy is different from men’s anatomy and so are the problems that they face. Women’s anatomy is special, complicated, and unique, they face several gynaecological problems at different stages. Getting to know your body, possible health problems, their causes, and preventive measures will help you stay away from such health issues.

Causes of gynaecological problems in today’s life:
Today, most women are career focussed and work extensively. The enormous work pressure is a leading cause of many of the gynaecological disorders. A recent study shows that 68% of working women suffer lifestyle diseases like obesity, depression, diabetes, hypertension and backache. Most of them skip meals and often eat junk and processed food. Environment pollution, lack of sleep, less sunlight exposure, lack of exercise, poor nutrition, anxiety, insecurity, excessive intake of alcohol and drug are among the other causes of these diseases. The lifestyle changes and lack of awareness have resulted in problems like breast cancer, infertility, menstrual disorders, high-risk pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.

Some common gynaecological problems:

  1. Breast Cancer: One of the leading cause of untimely death in women is breast cancer. Many women irrespective of the race and region are getting affected by breast cancer. Women over forty years are more prone to this cancer. Early diagnosis and general lifestyle changes result in increased survival rate. As a preventive measure for breast cancer, women over 40 years should opt for a mammogram scan once in 2 years. Self-examination of breasts is recommended as well.
  2. Menstrual Disorders: Menstrual disorders include Amenorrhea, Menorrhagia, Irregular bleeding, Dysmenorrhoea, etc. Common causes for menstrual disorders are stress, hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, diet, lack of physical activities, etc. When the menstrual cycle is absent, it is called Amenorrhea, and when the secretion of menstrual fluid is more than the average, it is called Menorrhagia.
  3. Infertility: The inability to conceive a baby is called infertility and the problem seems to be on the rise every year. The major causes of infertility in women are inadequate levels of hormones and problems with ovulation. Many treatments are available to improve the chances of conception. Hormone treatments, drugs to increase fertility, and surgical procedures to name a few. However, regular exercises, balanced diet, and stress-free life are natural ways that may offer a huge relief from this problem.
  4. High-risk pregnancy: When in a pregnancy there are too many complications than the normal pregnancy it is called a High-risk pregnancy. Late marriage, lifestyle disorders, conceiving after 35years may cause a high-risk pregnancy. In a high-risk pregnancy bleeding during the 3rd trimester, RH incompatibility, abnormalities of reproductive tract may happen.

Preventive measures against the gynaecological problems:
Other than the medicinal and clinical support there are some precautions by which a woman can take away the gynaecological problems from herself.

  1. Healthy Diet: Lots of fresh fruits and green vegetables along with a well-balanced diet is imperative for a disease-free life. Avoid junk foods, aerated drinks, and fatty foods. Don’t skip the meal and eat in proper time.
  2. Physical activity every day: Indulge in any kind of physical activity or sport. From swimming to running to yoga and aerobics, choose the one you love and get going, every day. Being active is the key to keep lifestyle diseases away.

See Retu your question is not complete for right dignogiStic pro sis. If you feel any pin then it's time to change your hormones so it's not big problem so don't tance. If you need relief then you can take TAB- ocid-20 mg TAB - vovran-sr 50 mg.

For this I would suggest you to do following remedy Natural home remedy using fenugreek seeds: 1. Take 4 tbsp of fenugreek seeds 2. Soak them in 250 ml water overnight 3. Crush them in the morning 4. Strain the mixture and collect the water 5. Drink it everyday for 2 months This remedy will be helpful, if it dosent work then you must consult ayurvedic doctor.

1. Protein is the key for the muscle building. Without adequate protein, muscle gain and growth is not possible because weight training demands for amino acids (which comes from protein). You should daily eat about 2.2g of protein per kilogram of your weight. For example, if you are 50kg , then you should eat 50x2.2=111g of protein spread over 5-6 meals in the day. Include high protein foods in your diet. Your protein intake should be from foods rather than from supplements. Good protein foods: beans,soybeans, whey, fish, dairy products (low fat variety), meats, nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds), peanut butter. Many of these are easy digestible foods. Milk is one of the best muscle foods. The milk contains two high quality proteins, about 80 percent whey and 20 percent casein. Whey is quickly broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. Whey is very good to consume after workout. Casein is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of protein for a longer period of time. Cheese is concentrated milk, so it is high in protein and calcium, fat and cholesterol. Include healthy skim yogurt in your diet, which can give you as much as 120 calories. 2. Eat custard apple (Saripa, Sitaphal) to put on some weight. This fruit is high in calorie. 3. Healthy fats: Avoid fatty foods. Most mothers, especially in India give too much ghee or butter to their children, thinking they will put flesh fast. But ghee is mostly saturated fat which is not a healthy fat for any body. Healthy fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Good fats: cold pressed oils (olive, sunflower, linseed, canola ). 4. Drink pure fruit juice. It is full of sugar and added nutrients so it is a healthy and nutritious way to gain some pounds. 5. Complex carbohydrates are also needed for gaining weight.. Corn bread is also full of carbohydrates, one piece gives approximately 328 calories. Potatoes are rich sources of carbohydrates and complex sugars, eat baked or as grilled potatoes. Pasta is a calorie rich cereal carbohydrates. 6. Eat bananas. These are rich in carbs and nutritious, one banana contains approximately 100 calories. 7. Some people think that drinking beer helps, but it is not true, it accumulates in your abdomen, making it fatty. Don't take protein supplements for gaining muscles.

Hi I am 32 years male, 3 days back I go for full body checkup lipid, kft,sugar, lft.All the test were okay but in LFT my bilirubin and sgpt and sgot slightly high, my total bilirubin was 1.65 and sgot 58 sgpt 70, I have been drinking alcohol from last 5 years, but now I have left, from the last 3 days I am feeling very low, and fatigue, less energetic. Hello, Thanks for the query. Some good diet and medicines is needed for you. Eat food with carbohydrates and protein bt avoid food with high fat ,avoid fried foods, street food, junk food, processed food ,colas, red meats, butter, cheese, sausages, bacon etc. Avoid medicines like painkillers, anti cholesterol medicines, antibiotics, anti seizure medicines etc. Now Alcohol consumption is strictly avoided. Consume more of water, fresh fruits and green vegetables. I think it will be help you.

Ensure that your blood sugar is under control.Follow the advice given below 1.Avoid sweets, sugar/honey,/excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet, all refined food like maida, pasta, starchy food like rice, potato, 2.Avoid sweetened fruit like banana,mango,litchi,chickoo,sapota,seethaphaljack fruit,grape etc 3.Avoid white/polished rice, take unpolished rice like brown rice/wheat/Jowar/Ragi,moong and chana Dal. 4.Avoid ghee/ butter./coconut oil/excess salt intake like papad/pickle. i suggest you easy method of weight gain just follow it for year you will gain weigh defiantly 1. start exercise regularly for 3 month and then after 3 month leave it for 3 month at the time of exercise your diet will increase but same diet continue after 3 month when you stop exercise so thats why your weight will increase automatically now we discus about diet 2.take dates with milk in the morning breakfast 3.triphala kadha 4 tsp beore lunch and dinner 4.amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach this take for 1.5 month only your weight gain will take definitely note=avoid over eating ...... When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. It is not necessary to drink so much water. You should drink that amount of water so that you pass atleast 2litres of urine daily. So if you drink 3-4litrs per day its enough. And water intake has no effect on belly fat loss.

I am 76 year old diabetes patient my doctor prescribed me tenepride before breakfast and zoryl 0.5m after breakfast and after dinner my blood sugar is around 300 and then after 2 hours it come down to 180 or 190 is it dangerous I have also faced hypoglycemic condition and cough so are these medicine safe to use I have also gone through bye pass heart surgery.

lybrate-user Komalji, Thanks for your query. I am sure you are aware what are the blood glucose levels one is expected to maintain to have a well controlled diabetes. FBG should be <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 or 180 mg (ideally 150 to 160 mg) & HbA1c%<7. There is no mention about HbA1c%. The drugs prescribed are unlikely to produce hypoglycemia. A person gets hypoglycemic symptoms once blood glucose level goes below 70 mg or even lower. If you have any doubts please come back. Thanks.

Dear lybrate user, yes you may start gym and rake protein diet as boiled eggs with milk, cheese, sprouts, banana daily fibre food etc. Take digestive found line salads fruits etc. Drink plenty of liquids.
