3 meals per day and healthy snacks twice daily to achieve the best possible result within a short period. Here is a guideline for creating the best vegetarian diet for weight loss. Based on this, you can create your own diet plan as the food choices of each person may vary and the items available to you may be different from what mentioned here. Early Morning You can have any of the following items to start your day. 1 glass of lukewarm water with lemon juice added to it. This drink will have zero calories in it. Breakfast 2 Idlis and half a cup of sambar and ½ cup of low fat milk Mid Morning Snack You can use boiled pulses, green salads, low- calorie fruits or nuts as a snack Lunch cup brown rice (not to exceed 200 grams cooked rice) and ½ cup mixed vegetable gravy along with one bowl mixed vegetable salad and 1 small bowl raitha or low fat curd. Ensure that the vegetables are cooked using low fat oil and without adding coconut. Evening Green tea Dinner Start your dinner with any thin soup. You can eat 2 rotis or one quarter plate upma or 3 slices of brown bread or one bowl of oats at night along with ½ cup vegetable and 1 bowl of salad. Medication will not help at this age, you should try Exercise like stretching swimming regularly yoga like Tadasan and Sarvang asana. play Basket ball regularly. Take proper balanced nutritios and protein rich diet. *Mix two tablespoons of ashwagandha powder in a glass of warm cow’s milk. 1. Add sugar or jaggery according to your taste and mix well. 2. Please follow below mentioned tips for improving your health. 1) take food twice in a day only. 2) take liquid diet only. 3) avoid oily and spicy food intake. 4) drink only 100 ml of lukewarm water during meals. 5) don't drink water before one hour of meals and don't drink water after meals for one hour. 6) take jinger juice 10 ml and jaggery 10 gm before and after meals and early in the morning on empty stomach with 30 ml of lukewarm water. And take aloe vera juice 30 ml with 30 ml of lukewarm water at night before sleep. Thanks.

Hi lybrate-user WEIGHT GAIN It is not a good idea to eat mega-meals at fast food joints or high- in- fat foods to gain weight. An effort like this will increase your body fat, putting you at risk for health problems. Rather work on improving the quality of your diet. Focus on eating healthy, growing strong and staying fit. Try eating six small healthy meals per day. Include 2 to 3 servings of fruits and vegetables in the day. Drink juice and smoothies made with milk and fresh fruit. Snack on dried fruit and nuts and high-fiber savories. If you are an exerciser, eat before and after workouts, and keep yourself hydrated. Here are some ideas: •Use whole fat dairy products such as whole milk, regular cheese and yogurt, cottage cheese. •Modify Cooking: Experiment by adding almonds to salads, cashews to a trail mix, or granola to yogurt. •Use "Extras" Try mixing in Ovaltine or almonds with a glass of milk. Add dried fruit or granola to yogurt. Mix in nuts, such as cashews or almonds to salads, trail mixes or cottage cheese. •Increase portion size gradually: Slowly try to increase the overall volume of the food at each meal, starting with one meal. For example, try adding one food item to a typical breakfast such as - add some fruit to cereal and milk. Then try increasing the amount of cereal. Once portions have increased over a few days at breakfast, add more to dinner or lunch. •Small meals of nutrient dense foods which you enjoy – this optimizes the smaller stomach capacity and provides structure. •Liquid supplements taken with or between meals – milk with complain, fruit milkshake… this is especially imp when it is necessary to overcome the lack of interest in food and eating. •Get adequate exercise and sleep/ rest How much weight can I target to increase? Usually 1-2 pounds per week is a safe and healthy weight gain goal. Most people do not gain exactly the same amount of weight per week. As long as the overall trend during the course of several weeks to a month is weight gain, you are moving in the right direction. 1. Make nutrition your mission. Eating a variety of healthy foods, making time for regular meals and snacks. Good nutrition is a key part of growth and development. It's also wise to learn good eating habits now — they'll become second nature, which will help you stay healthy and fit without even thinking about it. Eating on a schedule can help 2. Keep on moving (unless you are weak). Another way to keep your body healthy is to incorporate exercise into your routine. You might choose to work out at a gym. A good rule of thumb for exercise: Try to get 30 minutes of moderate physical activity 3 to 5 days a week. 3. Get enough sleep and rest. Sleep is an important component of normal growth and development. If you get enough, you'll have the energy to fuel your growth. Your body is at work while it sleeps — oxygen moves to the brain, growth hormones are released, and your bones keep on developing, even while you're resting.

Hey Mr. Lybrate-user dayal, vitamin b1 is thiamine, alcohol consumption and not having a proper diet is the main reason for its deficiency, which causes beri-beri, which includes heart disorders and pain due to nerve involvement mainly, further complications will involve brain and nervous system. So better to correct the thiamine levels in body, by avoiding alcohol, by having cereals-rice, wheat, etc. Grains, beans. And avoid washing rice too much before cooking.

At age 28, when I randomly went for a health check up. I was bit surprised and shocked. My BP was on a higher side. 160+ / 84+ Doctor advised me for a detailed investigation/diagnosis of it frm a specialty hospital. My question here is what are the reason to have such BP at dis age ? I don't have any major health issues till now. What do I need to control this from now on ? What diet should I follow and what do I need to overcome this ? Please advise.

It might be hereditary if your parents or grandparents were hypertensive. It may also be caused by smoking/ obesity/ high intake of salt & processed foods/stress. 1. have 1 coconut water daily (without cream) 2. Replace your salt with rock salt & tata salt lite 3. Avoid table salt, processed & ready to eat, canned foods 4. Restrict egg intake to 2 times a week 5. Cut down salt in cooking, use flavour enhancers like lemon, vinegar, herbs, spices, condiments 6. Do some sort of exercise daily (brisk walk/ yoga) & be physically active 7. Have a positive attitude & reduce stress via meditation

Hi dear, just try to feel your breathing pattern initially. Meditation is the last step in ashtang yoga. Dharan dhyaan samaadhi (meditation) deep inhaling & deep exhaling is the best way to destress urself. Listen to om chants, gayatri mantra. Thanx.

Empty Calories" are the calories from solid fats and added sugars in foods and beverages. They add to total calories, but provide no vitamins or minerals. Allowing too many can fill your child up without supplying the nutrients they need. Empty calories can also add more calories than they need
