Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy. But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting. But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight. If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts, only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating, only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation. Check for your sugars or any malabsorption syndrome. Excessive activity with less food intake and high bmr could cause weight loss. Take a properly balanced nutritious meal with no water intake along with or immediately after meals.

None of the creams help & after childbirth and drastic weight reduction @ 10 kg, breasts and may be entire body is feeling sagged. Exercise, do stretching exercises with arms, lift weights, also go for simple walks, maintain your weight post child birth but do exercise. This is the only solution to bring back firmness. Yes cream massage works only through toning up, for that you can use any cream.

The word ?fat? in itself is very alarming. Body fat or weight is the topic of concern for most people today. Due to the lack of physical activities these day?s people tend to gain weight at a faster rate. Long working hours, which involves sitting in front of computers, have lead to the increase in belly size. ?Pot belly? or ?beer belly? are just few names with which it is known. Abdominal Crunches: ? Lay down flat on the floor. ? Bend the knees with feet on the floor. ? Place your hands by the side of your ears. ? Take a deep breath. ? Crunch up lifting the head and chest a bit. The aim is to try and touch the knees with the forehead. But do not try to do it in the first attempt. Give your body some time. ? Now move down gradually, exhaling the air. Descending movement must be slower than the crunch up movement. Repeat the steps 5 to 10 times some tips ? Squeeze a lemon in a cup of warm water. Drink this water as soon as you get up in the morning. Drink lots of water throughout the day, keep yourself well hydrated

Can you kindly explain to me how a person becomes resistant to insulin and what are the remedies if any .

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Can you kindly explain to me how a person becomes resistant to insulin and what are the
remedies if any .
Mr. Lybrate-user, insulin resistance id mainly caused by increasing body fat. Hence, being over weight or being obese is one of the main causes. A lot of fat collects around organs inside the abdomen, (around liver, kidney and gut) this affects insulin action. Once that happens glucose level tends to go up. Resultant hyperglycemia causes glucotoxicity and further increases insulin resistance. Therefore, weight reduction, diet control and regular exercise (exercise helps muscles to use more glucose, helps reduction of blood glucose), are specifically helpful. That is why inan obese or over weight person weight reduction by even 5 to 8% produces significant blood glucose reduction as it improves insulin action. Thanks.
