There are no shortcuts here. You have to focus on safety first and take the right decisions. The best option is to start exercising (go slow if you are beginning for the first time). Learn yoga as it will harmonise your metabolism in a gentle and yet effective manner. Do not opt for strict dieting as it can be harmful and can affect the hormonal system. Eat a balanced diet as it can help you reach your expected height. Consult a dietitian so that one can plan a diet regime which will be suitable for you. You can also try Homeopathy if there is any health related issues.

Hi,
Want to loose weight. Can you pls tell me a proper diet plan and some medicine
Thank you.
Hi, there is no such medicine which helps to reduce weight. I advice you, you should go for brisk walk in the morning and evening. Do regular exercise atleast 15 minutes daily. Take lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night and don't skip breakfast. Avoid junk food and oily food. Don't take tension. Avoid late night dinner. Take small and frequent meals.

You Need To Make These 6 Lifestyle Changes Now!

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
You Need To Make These 6 Lifestyle Changes Now!
It is not only important to monitor what you eat or drink but also how you time it all. If we discipline ourselves towards a better lifestyle, maintaining good health won’t be such a task. It is World Health Day today. It is a good reason to take complete responsibility of inculcating healthy habits into our life.

Follow these 6 changes to your lifestyle to feel better and live healthier-

1) King’s Breakfast: Most people don't feel like eating much at breakfast, esp. the late nighters. However, ignoring or skipping breakfast sets a bad rhythm for the rest of your day and weakens your immune system. Having breakfast is a must and the ideal breakfast is one which is low in carbs and has a good portion of protein. For people short on time, a seasonal fruit with raw nuts and a little yogurt can be a good option.

2) Water Intake: Drinking inadequate water causes dehydration inside and can lead to a number of issues. Most common issues are headaches, dry skin, impaired sleep, joint problems, poor concentration as well as digestive disorders. Best way to address this problem is to keep water handy wherever you are. Try to drink about two litres of water each day. More, if its hot or after workouts.

3) Sleep Well: Sleep time is rejuvenation for your body. If you don't get enough sleep, you will deprive your body the time to recover and tackle whatever the next day has to offer. Try to be in bed earlier and get atleast 7 hours of sleep.

4) Physical Training: A good mix of aerobic as well as resistance training is quite important for your health. You feel more energetic and productive when you physically work out. Folks who exercise regularly are generally happier than those who are inactive.

5) Stress Releasing: Stress is a major factor in inducing various forms of illnesses. Stress must not accumulate. Try to give yourself some time every week to do things that you enjoy – it can be reading or meditating or enjoying the outdoors.

6) No Self Medication: Often one wrong medicine causes much more harm than any medicine at the right time, does good. Try to avoid popping pills without doctor’s recommendation. Many side effects or reactions to an existing medication or condition can lead to uncalled for problems and complications later. Don’t rely on sources like chemist or a relative to guide you, they might not look at the right details due to lack of knowledge. Say no to self medication.

Mr. Lybrate-user, you have diabetes t2 and probably hemrrhoids (piles). If piles are trouble some, then surgical treatment is the only option. More importantly your diabetes needs to be treated with appropriate medication either oral anti diabetes drugs or insulin injection. With a pp level of 200 mg it not good to leave it untreated. This my sicere advise to you.

There is no ideal weight for a particular height. It is always a weight range. For your height the weight range should be 75 to 80 kg with muscles and not fat. To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1.Exercise at least 5 times per week 2.Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3.Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4.Don’t engage in extreme diets 5.Stay consistent with your habits 6.Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7.Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

How to be fit with good muscles. Want some fitness tips and diet. Healthy tips and what type. Of exercises to follow.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hye, thanks for the query. Firstly understand that muscle gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Muscle gain is all about taking more nutrients than you use up. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps muscle gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 meals a day. Eat a protein rich mid meal between each main meal. Pre/ post workout meals need a certain amount of carbs and proteins depending on your exercise routine. Avoid junk, sugary, oily foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, healthy oils in your diet. Restrict eating sugary, sweet foods. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least 6 days a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite. Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

I am 19 year old but my stomach getting big slowly slowly. What is the reason for it? Please help me.
1. Excessive weight gain is caused when people consume more calories than the body needs—occurring most commonly due to eating a diet high in fat and calories, being sedentary, or both. This imbalance between calories consumed and calories burned, however, can also be caused by a number of different obesity-related factors such as genetic, hormonal, behavioral, environmental and, to some extent, cultural. There are many other factors causing obesity such as pregnancy, tumors as well as endocrine disorders and medications that include psychotic drugs, estrogens, corticosteroids and insulin. Dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help u. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 8. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 9.Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice.

At this age you have to choose between your Body or Beer... You have to choose between Good Health and Addiction. If you truly love and respect your body.. you will find better ways to look after it. You have to focus more on fruits, vegetables, salads. You need to spend at least 40 mins daily in intensive games/exercise. You need to change your lifestyle completely. When you do that, your weight will reduce, your belly will go in. When you do all this you will have the freedom to wear the clothes you like. You will admire yourself and others will too. There are no medicines to lose weight. You have the power in your hands to cure the problem.

Hi lybrate-user, Its normal to put on weight especially around belly and waist during pregnancy. Do not worry, it is possible to get rid of pregnancy weight and gain your confidence again. There are two pillars for weight loss. Diet and exercise. Although right diet can control further weight gain and assure overall health, exercise is must for weight reduction. 30 mins walk (to start with), with well-balanced diet (depending on your health condition) can lead to gradual and healthy weight loss. Workout, eat well, be patient. Your body will reward you. I would be happy to help you. Please consult me privately so that I can understand your problem in detail and device a diet plan for you.
