Mr. Lybrate-user, you having obesity, grade 2, with 35.11 kgs/m2 bmi. This very high and can be troublesome. It is better to get tsh levels checked (thyroid assay), that will help in finding out if there is hypothyroidism. If uncontrolled hypothyroidism is present then weight gain is very common. It is better if you join a gym and do exercise under guidance, that will help. Plus a proper dietary intake has to be planned, giving calories based on your ideal body weight and extent of daily exercise. So first get thyroid testing done. Thanks for the question.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

I have a question about my diabetes. I am suffering from hypertension since 6 years & Diabetes from 2.5 years and take tablets for both diseases in morning. For diabetes I take glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin 500 mg prescribed by doctor. My query is dat when I test my pp sugar after 2 hours of meals it comes around 240 but when I again test after 3 hours of meals (1 hour after pp sugar test), it comes around 150. Means the value of pp sugar test which should come after 2 hours of meals generally comes after 3 hours of meals. Is this ok or should I need further tests or medicine changes.

Dear Ashish, I acknowledge and appreciate this keep observation by you. This is what commonly occurs in Type-2 diabetes. This is reflective of the body's inability to handle the high glucose load of the meals taken due to insulin resistance which leads to higher than desired post meal blood glucose levels. Yes we need to adjust your medicines for this as this is not desirable and can lead to end organ damage in the body. Follow that diet for 6 weeks Week 1 8: 00 am – 2 glasses of methi seeds water. 5 soaked almonds with the skin. 1 kali mirch. 9: 00 am – 1 glass of milk and a fruit 11: 30 am – one fruit of your wish 1: 30 pm – 1 bran chappati and any vegetable 5: 00 pm – 1cup of milk or tea with 2 biscuits/ 1 small bowl bhuna channa/ 1bowl popcorn (not the buttery act 2 ones but air popped popcorns without the butter) 7: 30 pm – 3 pcs steamed or roasted chicken or fish + salad (non vegetarians) Any one of the following for vegetarians: 1.1 bowl dal.+ 1 bowl curd + salad 2.1 bowl veg + 1 bowl curd + salad 8: 30 pm – one fruit of your wish Week 2 8: 00 am – 2 glasses of methi seeds water. 5 soaked almonds with the skin. 1 kali mirch. 9: 00 am – 1 glass of cold coffee and a bb toast 11: 30 am – one fruit of your wish 1: 30 pm – This week you have a lot of options which you can take alternatively. 1.1 bowl sprouts + fruits 2.2 bowl vegetables + salads 3.1 bowl dalia + 1 bb toast 4.1 bowl vegetables + 1 bb toast 5.1 bowl kadhi + 1 quarter plate rice 5: 00 pm – 1cup of milk or tea with 2 biscuits/ 1 small bowl bhuna channa/ 1bowl popcorn (not the buttery act 2 ones but air popped popcorns without the butter) 7: 30 pm – 1 bran chappati and 1 bowl vegetable. 8: 30 pm – one fruit of your wish. Hi some points will help you to gain weight. 1. Soya bean:- Meeting your protein requirements every day can be tough when you are trying to gain weight. Soya bean which has as much as 36g of protein per every 100g serving, can be a great food that’ll help you meet those targets. 2. Noodles:- Even though a lot of people think they are unhealthy, eating noodles can be a great way to add some calories and carbohydrates in your diet. Hi. Masturbation can't be the causative factor for acne or oily skin as such. There are four main factors which causes acne: Oil production Dead skin cells Clogged pores Bacteria Factors that may worsen the acne: Androgen hormones, certain medications (drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium can worsen acne), dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips — may trigger acne and Stress can make acne worse. Management: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Use Bakson's Apricot scrub at least once a week.

5 Ways to Eat Healthy Even When You are Depressed

Food’s relation with depression is a complicated one. A person can suddenly lose appetite or become extremely voracious. There are instances when you feel hungry, but do not eat due to the lethargy of cooking. Either way, it is a difficult task to eat healthy during a depression. Here is a list of tips that will help you to refrain from eating and drinking unhealthy and unhygienic food items such as alcohol, junk foods, chocolate, caffeine and ice-cream.

Prepare frozen meals well in advance:
During depression, not many people feel the urge to cook a meal. The alternative, in this case, is to prepare as many meals as you can and freeze them for future consumption. Food items such as black beans, pasta and chicken can be cooked and stored in the refrigerator for quite a few days. Store the cooked food in as many jars as you have. This cooked items will act as a life saviour when you feel hungry, but do not feel like cooking.

Use fewer dishes:
Minimising the number of dishes will save your life. A lot of people lose the urge of cooking or eating healthy when they see a pile of undone dishes in the wash basin. Use a minimum amount of dishes that is required for daily use and immediately wash them when you are done eating. This way you will fell motivated to cook and eat healthily.

Do not go for complicated meals:
They are a lot of easy to cook healthy meal options out there. Do not go for a dish that is difficult to prepare. If you mess up, chances are that you will neither enjoy eating the dish nor it cook in the future as well. The best thing to do is to prepare simple and easy to prepare healthy meals. Refer to a recipe book if you need help.

Listen to music while preparing food:
Cooking can be boring if you do not enjoy it. A good alternative is to listen to music while cooking. This will keep boredoms at bay and meals will be prepared in a whisker. Not to mention music will also keep your motivation level high. If work and play are not your things, you can watch the cooking shows to get your motivation level up.

Eat out:
Eating out is not a crime. If you feel the urge to eat out, go by all means. You need not eat junk food when you are out. Instead of going to a fast food joint, go to a good restaurant that serves healthy yet tasty food. I am 28 years old I have delivered a baby on 16 february mine was force vaccumm delivery I wanna know what type of food can I eat and can I wear tummy tucker belt because I have stitches inside also.

Wearing tummy tucker belt is of no use as it can not burn fat. To reduce ur tummy u have to exclusively breast feed ur baby and u can start exercises like jogging or brisk walk to burn fat. Ur diet should include more fruits and protein i.e. chicken, fish or pulses, mushroom. Also dry fruits with milk to keep healthy balance for u and ur baby.

Hi lybrate-user dear user, weight gain is mainly because of low physical activity and faulty food habits. Increase your physical activity as yours is a desk job go for walk, take stairs instead of elevators, follow some exercise plan make changes in your diet by including more veggies n fruits, whole grains and dals. Avoid junk and fried foods.
