Warning Signs Your Mouth Could be Telling You this Summer!

Warning Signs Your Mouth Could be Telling You this Summer!

The horrible effects of summer heat on the body are fairly well known: sunburn, heat stroke and serious dehydration can be life threatening illnesses. But did you know that paying attention to your oral cavity can tip you off and help prevent the onset of serious injury? Don’t let the summer heat get you down! This week, explore with us how your mouth can serve as a pathway to healthier, safer living in hotter months.

First things first

You know heat stroke (or sun stroke) is bad, but what is it exactly? Heat stroke is usually the result of lengthy exposure to the sun.  For various reasons, the body fails to sufficiently sweat, leading to extremely high internal body temperatures.  It is a condition that is typically rapid in onset, requiring immediate medical attention. Left untreated, it can result in multiple organ failures.

The Warning Signs

Many warning signs of summer illnesses actually start in the mouth. Though no two patients experience the same constellation of symptoms, many initially report problems with thirst, dry mouth and dry tongue before the onset of more worrisome indicators.

However, other important signs of dehydration should not be overlooked. These include dry skin, fatigue, light-headedness, headache, dizziness, confusion and/or increased heart rate and breathing.

Drink up

The most important thing you can do to prevent summer heat illnesses is drink plenty of fluids. This is especially true if one has been outdoors working or playing in the sun. Establish a schedule and drink plenty of fluids at regular intervals. You should also be drinking even if you do not feel thirsty or dehydrated. For an extra push, drink solutions like Pedialyte or Gatorade. These help maintain electrolyte balance during extreme heat. Avoid alcohol consumption, as liquor often dehydrates the body and leaves it wanting of critical fluids.

How much is Enough?

During extreme summer heat, you should be drinking at least eight glasses of water a day. But that is not a fixed amount. If you have been outdoors and active, you may need to drink much more. Pay attention to your body to determine how much fluids you should be drinking. Remember, the warnings signs are listed above.

Dear , Creatinine levels can be changed with proper water metabolism and does not necessarily need medicine support all the time. Neprosave is too strong a medicine. First of all, you need to reduce your weight by atleast 35 kgs to be able to reduce the burden on all you body organs. Any amount of medicine will help reduce the symptom, but a proper lifestyle, weight, proper regulated food are essential to maintain proper health. Regards.

Simple nutritional deficiency can cause general weakness of the body. Would advise you to take homoeopathic medicines - Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both thrice daily, and let me know about your condition after a month.

Only on diet charts you can lose weight. Green concept is launching for that. Early morning a drink of green juice is the key to lose weight.

simple ways for a restful sleep 1. Cut down on caffeine: Caffeine drinkers may find it harder to fall asleep. Even a single cup of coffee in the morning may lead to a sleepless night. Caffeine blocks the effects of adenosine, a neurotransmitter thought to promote sleep. Caffeine can also interrupt sleep by increasing the need to urinate during the night. Because caffeine withdrawal can cause headaches, irritability, and extreme fatigue, it may be easier to cut back gradually rather than to go cold turkey. Those who can’t or don’t want to give up caffeine should avoid it after 2 p.m., or noon if they are especially caffeine–sensitive. 2. Stop smoking or chewing tobacco: Nicotine is a central nervous system stimulant that can cause insomnia. If you continue to use tobacco, avoid smoking or chewing it for at least one to two hours before bedtime. 3. Limit alcohol intake: Alcohol depresses the nervous system, so a nightcap may seem to help some people fall asleep. Alcohol suppresses REM sleep, and the soporific effects disappear after a few hours. Alcohol also worsens snoring and other sleep breathing problems. 4. Worry and stress causes sleeplessness. Find out what hurts you and resolve the issue.

A peron having a Single kidney since birth can lead a healthy, normal life. The kidneys perform a number of different functions in the body like 1. Primary function is to remove toxins and waste products. The kidneys are the body's natural detoxification system, responsible for removing waste products and excess water and salt from the blood. Their workload is quite heavy and they filter close to 200 liters of blood, on a daily basis. 2.The kidneys also maintain the blood's correct volume and concentration. They also regulate blood pressure and the body's pH balance, process vitamin D and produce certain hormones. Remarkably, one kidney can adequately perform all these important tasks. However, it is wise not to overburden a single kidney, by engaging in practices that may cause unnecessary stress to this organ. Poor dietary and lifestyle habits can overwork the kidney, causing diminished kidney function and lead to kidney failure. Taking some simple proactive steps can help to preserve and prolong kidney health. The tips provided below is a general guide. These are practical tips that can be applied by persons with a single kidney (and also those with two). ________________________________________ Kidney Care Tips: 1.If you have one kidney, the first and most important tip or advice is to have regular medical checkups. Monitoring kidney function will help to detect any early signs of kidney stress or other problems.. It is, therefore, advisable to have your kidney checked at least once a year. 2.Adopt and maintain a healthy balanced diet. Diet is essential to any program of health. To maintain proper metabolic organ function, you must eat healthy. Food is like the fuel that determines whether our internal engine runs smoothly or literally shuts down. Just as you ensure that the correct fuel goes into your automobile, you should also ensure that the correct foods go into your body. It is unfortunate that most modern western diets are far from what is considered a minimum healthy diet. It is important to set priorities and ensure that maintaining a healthy diet is somewhere at the top of the list. The key to a healthy diet is to increase consumption of plant-based foods while reducing consumption of refined and oily (fried) foods. 3.Adequate consumption of water is another key aspect of kidney health. This is important whether you have one kidney or two. Almost all metabolic functions of the body require water. In general, water helps to maintain the right volume and concentration of blood and other fluids within the body, but its comprehensive functions extends beyond this. It contains a set of properties that facilitates proper biological functions. So, if you have one kidney, drink lots of water... if you have two kidneys, drink lots of water... even if you have three kidneys, drink lots of water! 4.Exercise regularly! Physical exercise is an important element of optimum kidney health. This is especially important if you are living with a single kidney. Exercise helps to lower or control blood pressure and increases insulin sensitivity, helping to prevent against type II diabetes (adult onset diabetes). Both hypertension and diabetes are major underlying factors responsible for kidney failure, so it is important to guard against them. In addition to diet, exercise plays a key role in preventing and controlling these two serious conditions. 5.Detox at least once per year. Detoxing is a process that helps to rid the body of toxins that may have built up over time. Toxins are typically caused by polluted air and water and processed food chemicals. If these toxins are allowed to accumulate, they can cause serious health problems. A proper detox lasts about a week and involves eating a nutritious, well-balanced diet that's high in essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, drinking plenty of water and clear fruit juices, and getting enough rest. There are also some good natural detox products that assist the body to eliminate toxins, which may have built up in the body. A naturopathic doctor can recommend a product, appropriate to your particular needs. 6.Finally, anyone living with one kidney should consider using supplements regularly, to compensate for any nutritional deficiencies in their diets. Generally, most of us do not receive adequate nutrients from our food. A prolonged deficiency of nutrients can result in a depleted immune system, leading to the onset of various diseases. It is therefore important to consume adequate nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fatty acids or amino acids, daily. Consult your Doctor or dietitian for recommended supplements suitable for your particular needs. Although these tips are mainly for persons living with one kidney, they can be beneficial to anyone interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Every individual has unique requirements, so it is important to be guided by your doctor to help ensure that you are taking measures relevant to your particular circumstances.

Hye, Thanks for the query.  Firstly understand that maintaining a hormonal vibrancy is more so a matter of a healthy lifestyle. No amount of supplementation will work if your lifestyle,  including your diet, exercise and stress is managed well. The following are some tips you can follow. Get enough sleep.  Maintain a healthy weight.  Stay active and exercise regularly.  Avoid unwanted stress. Avoid simple sugars like excess of white sugar, maida and cornflour. Include foods like sweet potato, eggs, potato, sorghum, yoghurt, nuts like macadamia or Brazil or almonds, olive oil, coconut oil, clarified butter, oysters, raisins, mushrooms, avocado, custard apple,  pomagranates,  onions, parsley, garlic and ginger in your diet. Avoid alcohol and smoking.
