How would you know if you had periodontal diseases?

Unlike tooth decay, which often causes discomfort, it is possible to have periodontal diseases without noticeable symptoms. That is why regular dental checkups and periodontal examinations are very important. Several warning signs can signal a problem. While periodontal disease may begin slowly for some patients. Others may develop a rapidly slowly for some patients, others may develop a rapidly progressive form of the disease. If you notice any of the following:

1. Gums that bleed easily

2. Red, swollen, or tender gums.

3. Gums that have pulled away from your teeth.

4. Persistent bad breath.

5. Pus between the teeth and gums.

6. Looser or separating teeth.

7. A change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

8. A change in the fit of partial dentures.

Sir more than half of his external tooth has broken. And his root is immature. Should I go for rct and then capping.

Sir more than half of his external tooth has broken. And his root is immature. Should I go for rct and then capping.
Exact kind of rct depends upon the vitality of the tooth and in turn the potential for root development. Thus the" capping" may be immediately or deferred. Consult your dentist and he shall advise you best. Exact kind of rct depends upon the vitality of the tooth and in turn the potential for root development. I am trying to lose weight. I have heard that honey and lemon juice along with water helps in losing weight. Does this drink have any side effects on teeth or anything? How long can I continue drinking this. Thankyou.

A very nice question indeed. Yes, consumption of a lot of citrus food and drinks can lead to erosion of you enamel surface. Enamel is the outer protective white colored layer of your teeth. And consuming lot of citrus juices erode the superficial layer of enamel exposing the underlying dentin (part of tooth having sensation) leading to major tooth problem of tooth sensitivities. Although this erosion process is slow but in addition to you daily wear of enamel due to ageing process will definitly speed up your side effects. So I would advice you to go for weight with proper exercise and a balanced diet and avoid taking such short cuts. Get some muscle movements.

Toothpicks can cause serious damage to our teeth like enamel loss (abrasion), deep gums pockets leading to gum diseases, broken tooth.....so floss is a best alternative to toothpick.

Hi From last 3 months, I find blood with saliva. What is my problem? I am worried.

Hi From last 3 months, I find blood with saliva. What is my problem? I am worried.
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The blood tinged saliva can be because of the bleeding from the gums secondary to deposits over the teeth. Nothing to be panic, consult a dentist and get the teeth cleaned. I hope I have answered your query. Take care.
