Hii. I have sugar from last year so what will be it effect on my body or health?
Mr Aksh, If you have diabetes mellitus and if it is not in control then there can be serious effects on almost every system of the body. For example : Eyes are affected very badly, can cause retinopathy, increase cataract, lead to glaucoma etc. Affects microvasculature (small vessels) and macrovasuculature (large vessels), these effects lead to problems with eyes, kidneys, heart, nervous system and lower limbs. So controlling sugar and bringing nearer normal is absolutely essential. So if any one has diabetes then it should be immediately treated and brought under control.

I am 22 years old I am having cold from last 2 years it ll comes twice in a month what should I do?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold. they are all easy. -Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. -Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough. -Get plenty of rest/sleep.staying at home will keep you from spreading germs.Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Drink plenty of fluids(veg/tomato soups, dal water/coconut water/herbal tea etc), and eat nutritious food(like sprouts/boiled eggs without yolk with milk). Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can impair your sleep -Treatment:A cold usually lasts for a week or two. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn't need medical treatment. -Complications like infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs must be treated with antibiotics. -Gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation. -Tablet nasorest-p once/twice daily may ease breathing. -Do steam inhalation once or twice daily

A friend of mine was healthy and problem free. He had an argument with someone very close to his heart and he is possessive about. My friend is very sensitive about that person and the person means a lot to him. Now after the argument my friend started sweating, had vomiting and passed 2-3 stools. I am really worried about him since distance does not permit me to go and see him. Is it some sign of cardiac arrest or something?

As details of age and medical background are not available, it is difficult to make an assumption. However to be on the safer side, get an ECG done. It will reduce your fears once it turns out to be normal. It is likely that the sweating, vomiting and passing of stools was an acute reaction to the stressful situation. Look for any other signs of infection (fever, loose motions, abdominal pain, etc) and consult a physician if required. If all of the above is normal, consider approaching a psychiatrist or counselor who will be able to help your friend cope with such situations.

General Physician,
Quick discahrge is preamture ejacualtion and try to understand by reading this .Ejaculation of semen during sexual intercourse before or immediately after penetration. Premature ejaculation occurs when a man ejaculates sooner during sexual intercourse than he or his partner would like. Premature ejaculation is a common sexual complaint. Estimates vary, but as many as 1 out of 3 men say they experience this problem at some time. As long as it happens infrequently, it's not cause for concern. The primary symptom of premature ejaculation is the inability to delay ejaculation for more than one minute after penetration. However, the problem may occur in all sexual situations, even during masturbation. Premature ejaculation can be classified as lifelong (primary) or acquired (secondary). Lifelong premature ejaculation occurs all or nearly all of the time beginning with your first sexual encounters. Acquired premature ejaculation has the same symptoms but develops after you've had previous sexual experiences without ejaculatory problems. Many men feel that they have symptoms of premature ejaculation, but the symptoms do not meet the diagnostic criteria for premature ejaculation. Instead these may have natural variable premature ejaculation, which is characterized by periods of rapid ejaculation as well as periods of normal ejaculation. Psychological causes Some doctors believe that early sexual experiences may establish a pattern that can be difficult to change later in life, such as: • Situations in which you may have hurried to reach climax in order to avoid being discovered • Guilty feelings that increase your tendency to rush through sexual encounters Other factors that can play a role in causing premature ejaculation include: • Erectile dysfunction. Men who are anxious about obtaining or maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse may form a pattern of rushing to ejaculate, which can be difficult to change. • Anxiety. Many men with premature ejaculation also have problems with anxiety — either specifically about sexual performance or related to other issues. • Relationship problems. If you have had satisfying sexual relationships with other partners in which premature ejaculation happened infrequently or not at all, it's possible that interpersonal issues between you and your current partner are contributing to the problem. Biological causes A number of biological factors may contribute to premature ejaculation, including: • Abnormal hormone levels • Abnormal levels of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters • Abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system • Certain thyroid problems • Inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra • Inherited traits • Nerve damage from surgery or trauma (rare) Common treatment options for premature ejaculation include behavioural techniques, topical anaesthetics, oral medications and counselling. Keep in mind that it may take a little time to find the treatment or combination of treatments that will work for you. Behavioural techniques In some cases, therapy for premature ejaculation may involve taking simple steps, such as masturbating an hour or two before intercourse so that you're able to delay ejaculation during sex. You may try avoiding intercourse for a period of time and focusing on other types of sexual play so that pressure is removed from your sexual encounters. You can also try diverting your mind before ejaculation is ready to come and proceeding after a brief break, thereby prolonging duration of intercourse / action The pause-squeeze technique You and your partner can use of a method called the pause-squeeze technique. This method works as follows: 1. Begin sexual activity as usual, including stimulation of the penis, until you feel almost ready to ejaculate. 2. Have your partner squeeze the end of your penis, at the point where the head (glans) joins the shaft, and maintain the squeeze for several seconds, until the urge to ejaculate passes. 3. After the squeeze is released, wait for about 30 seconds, then go back to foreplay. You may notice that squeezing the penis causes it to become less erect, but when sexual stimulation is resumed, it soon regains full erection. 4. If you again feel you're about to ejaculate, have your partner repeat the squeeze process. By repeating this as many times as necessary, you can reach the point of entering your partner without ejaculating. After a few practice sessions, the feeling of knowing how to delay ejaculation may become a habit that no longer requires the pause-squeeze technique. Topical anaesthetics Anaesthetic creams and sprays that contain a numbing agent, such as lidocaine or procaine, are sometimes used to treat premature ejaculation. These products are applied to the penis a short time before sex to reduce sensation and thus help delay ejaculation. A lidocaine spray for premature ejaculation is available Although topical anaesthetic agents are effective and well-tolerated, they have potential side effects. For example, some men report temporary loss of sensitivity and decreased sexual pleasure. In some cases, female partners also have reported these effects. In rare cases, lidocaine or procaine can cause an allergic reaction. Oral medications Many medications may delay orgasm. Although none of these drugs is specifically worthwhile as people believe, approved medications may be prescribed for either on-demand or daily use, and may be prescribed alone or in combination with other treatments to treat premature ejaculation, some are used for this purpose, including antidepressants, analgesics and phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors

Any serious illness, especially painful ones, can make you tired along with bodyaches. But some quite minor illnesses can also leave you feeling washed out. Here are 10 health conditions that are known to cause fatigue. 1. Coeliac disease This is a type of food intolerance, where your body reacts badly when you eat gluten – a substance found in bread, cakes and cereals. 90% of us don’t know we have the condition, Other symptoms of coeliac disease, apart from tiredness, are diarrhoea, anaemia and weight loss. Your Doctor can check if you have coeliac disease through a blood test. 2. Anaemia One of the most common medical reasons for feeling constantly run down is iron deficiency anaemia. It affects around one in 20 men and post-menopausal women, but may be even more common in women who are still having periods. Typically, you’ll feel you can’t be bothered to do anything, your muscles will feel heavy and you’ll get tired very quickly. Women with heavy periods and pregnant women are especially prone to anaemia. 3. Chronic fatigue syndrome Chronic fatigue syndrome (also called myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME) is a severe and disabling tiredness that goes on for at least six months. There are usually other symptoms, such as a sore throat, muscle or joint pain and headache. 4. Sleep apnoea Sleep apnoea is a condition where your throat narrows or closes during sleep and repeatedly interrupts your breathing. This results in bad snoring and a drop in your blood's oxygen levels. The difficulty in breathing means that you wake up often in the night, and feel exhausted the next day. It’s most common in overweight, middle-aged men. Drinking alcohol and smoking makes it wor 5. Underactive thyroid An underactive thyroid gland means that you have too little thyroid hormone (thyroxine) in your body. This makes you feel tired. You’re also likely to put on weight and have aching muscles. It’s most common in women, and it happens more often as you get older. Your Doctor can diagnose an underactive thyroid by taking blood test 6. Diabetes One of the main symptoms of diabetes, a long-term condition caused by too much sugar in the blood, is feeling very tired. The other key symptoms are feeling very thirsty, going to the toilet a lot and weight loss. Your Doctor can diagnose diabetes with a blood test. 7. Glandular fever Glandular fever is a common viral infection that causes fatigue, along with fever, sore throat and swollen glands. Most cases happen in teenagers and young adults. Symptoms usually clear up within four to six weeks, but the fatigue can linger for several more months. 8. Depression As well as making you feel very sad, depression can also make you feel drained of energy. It can stop you falling asleep or cause you to wake up early in the morning, which makes you feel more tired during the day. 9. Restless legs This is when you get uncomfortable sensations in your legs, which keep you awake at night. You might have an overwhelming urge to keep moving your legs, a deep ache in your legs, or your legs might jerk spontaneously through the night. Whatever your symptoms, your sleep will be disrupted and of poor quality, so you’ll feel very tired throughout the day. 10. Anxiety Feeling anxious is sometimes perfectly normal. However, some people have constant, uncontrollable feelings of anxiety, which are so strong they affect their daily life. We call this generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). It is becoming more frequent in India. As well as feeling worried and irritable, people with GAD often feel tired. So either consult me with your present and past complaints.Menstrual history.,Family history or consult your doctor.

Dear Ms. Lybrate-user, your problem seems vague and needs an assessment. The pain may be because of posture and your lifestyle. You can go for an x-ray and rule out any problems related to the vertebrae. If you have headache as well and is persistent then you must also go for an mri. Hi . Nose bleeding happens due to dryness and heat when going out in the sun. It is very common. When bleeding starts you must pinch the nose and bend forwards for 10 minutes. Do not swallow the blood and spit it out. To avoid further episodes of bleeding keep your nasal cavity moist at all times by spraying saline nasal spray - solspre 3-5 times a day for 3 weeks.

My mother is suffering from spondylitis. Daily she suffer any problem. Someday she suffers a severe headache, someday a severe dizziness and today an intense pain in her back. Her shoulder and neck is very paining. She is unable to move her hands, sneeze.(Unke nus chad gai hai.) Please help. How to cure all this.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
Heat is an effective mean of reducing and relieving pain in cervical spondylosis. You can use hot packs at home. Some exercises like static contractions and strengthening exercises are needs to be done. Isometric contractions of the cervical muscles improve the muscle endurance and tone as the contractions improve the blood supply thereby the nutrition to the muscle is increased and hence muscle strengthening is done. You may need traction and soft tissue techniques for the management of cs. Postural awareness is very important. As the condition progresses, the abnormality of posture also increases, thus from the initial stage itself, postural awareness through proper advice and education should be planned and initiated by the physiotherapist. Best wishes.
