I AM A 44 YEAR OLD MALE. I have some sores in the lining of the mouth in the upper jaw which are painful. The sore is behind the upper jaw molars at the back of upper jaw hence is not visible. I experience pain when moving the jaws. Pl suggest remedy.
I am 65 years old, I am suffering stomach pain problem last one year after my gallbladder removing, I have taken some medicine but still I have problem.
I am 60 years old. I had asd operation in 1993 I had gall bladder operation in 2007 to remove gall stone I am having diabetic medicine since 2001; gemer 1 till 2014 now glycomet sr 500 mg I have piles problem since 2004; last year I got done colonoscopy; report is 2nd grade haemorroid, allopathic doctors advice for surgery. I don't want to go for another surgery; no pain, no bleeding; (initial stage of piles, I had pain and bleeding ; not now) it is like anal prolapse now. I have lost weight in the course of last 2 years gradually ; from 69 kg to now 58 kg (my height is 5.6) looking thin ; immediately after breakfast, I tempt to go to toilet; not after lunch or dinner daily at night I wake up at 2.30 -3 am doing regular walk and yogasana, breathing exercise. Now a days what ever I eat, I don't know where it goes, doesn't increase my weight, stool is tight: very little comparing to the quantity of food I take. Gas passes; empty belching also. While taking diabetic tablets, suddenly I feel shivering, sweating at 11 am even my breakfast is still in the stomach. So I skip taking diabetic tablet now and then. Thyroid test is normal my questing is what could be the reason for weight loss, and how to gain weight?
The pyramid diet was conceptualised in 1992 and it emphasises the best amount of servings to be consumed daily from the basic food groups (dairy, fruits and vegetables, grains, beans and legumes, meat, oils and fats).
The pyramid is divided into four levels. The very first level is comprised of grains, beans and legumes; the level above it is made up of fruits and vegetable; the third level from the top is composed of meat and dairy products and the very last one on top contains fats, sugars and oils.
The diet aims to divide the food groups in the above mentioned fashion to make you understand just how much to consume from each food group. Here is a breakdown of servings from each food group:
- Grains- 5 to 7 servings
- Fruits and vegetables- 2 servings of each
- Milk and dairy- 3 servings of which 1/2 serving should be dairy products
- Oils, sugar and fats- 6 teaspoons for oils and minimal servings for fats and sugars
This seems relatively easy to follow, but most people do not understand portion control. The amount or serving of food is called portion control and it is important if you want your diet to work. Here is a guideline that you can follow:
- When you are consuming one serving of grains in one sitting, you can choose to eat one cup of cereals or one slice of whole-wheat bread.
- When you are eating vegetable or fruits with your breakfast or lunch, choose one and a half cup of chopped vegetables, or one piece of orange, banana or apple.
- If you are drinking milk, then one cup of milk in one serving. And, if you are eating meat, choose one ounce of cooked fish or chicken.
- Lastly, do not go beyond one teaspoon of vegetable oil and try to keep your sugar intake to the minimum throughout the day.
