Hello doctor. My dad is a diabetic patient can he drink red wine? please suggest me.
Hi. Thanks for the query. There are no benefits of drinking wine. The specific nutrient benefit can be got from other healthy foods a s well. Remember you can end up with troubled blood sugar levels if not taken in the right amounts. Even if had it has to be planned into a diabetic diet. Will not advise random intake.

I have low testosterone. So could you please suggest me that how can I increase it naturally.
Egg yolks, vitamin D, zinc supplements, beef, beans can raise testotorone to a certain level naturally. Healthy diet changes may help low T, but they’re not cures for hypogonadism. A doctor must confirm you that have low testosterone through a physical exam and blood test. If you’re diagnosed with low T, you may be prescribed testosterone hormone replacements such as: tablets or pills skin patches topical gel injections Quickly consult a good sexologist online and get the right advice for your sexual health concerns. Thank you.

Snoring: snoring is mainly due to vibration of pharyngeal parts mainly soft palate parapharyngeal bands base of tongue, adenoids and polyps in nose etc and also deviated nasal septum plays the role. It is better to go for sleep study test and endoscopy of nose and throat in awake and sleeping pt. Also mri during sleep helps to come to diagnosis. Sleep ap machine can help the pt. Also surgery of nasal polyp, deviated nasal septum, tonsils and adenoids, soft palate and base tongue can help to cure or reduce the snoring.

Hi, Start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - Bakson's Hite-Aid and Five Phos. - both thrice daily and Thuja 1M/ one dose once a week - take them for 4 months. Management: Consume a balanced diet. A person will look a lot shorter when having a plump body. Not only that, being fit by eating right will make you taller and feel better! Eat plenty of lean protein. Lean protein, such as white poultry meat, fish, soy, and dairy, helps promote muscle growth and healthy bones. Simple carbohydrates such as pizza, cakes, sweets, and soda, are the stuff to stay away from. Eat plenty of calcium. Calcium, found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale, and in dairy (yogurt and milk), helps promote healthy bones. Get enough zinc. Studies, although they have been inconclusive so far, point to a possible link between zinc deficiencies and stunted growth in boys. Good sources of zinc include oysters, wheat germ, pumpkin and squash seeds, lamb, peanuts, and crab. Get enough vitamin D. Vitamin D promotes bone and muscle growth in children, and a deficiency has been shown to stunt growth and cause weight gain in teenage girls. Vitamin D can be found in fish, alfalfa, or mushrooms commonly. 60% to 80% of your height is determined by genes! Apart from these: -Exercise throughout the teen years and in puberty. Get out and about and work your muscles for at least 30 minutes each day. Join a gym, join a sports team, if nothing else, walk around. Do get indulge in stretch exercises, and sports like basketball, volleyball. -Sleeping is the time when your body grows, Get between 9 and 11 hours of sleep per night if you're a preteen or still younger than 20. -Avoid any bad habit like smoking which affects the height, also avoid anabolic steroids which inhibit bone growth in young children and teens. -Always stand straight instead of hunching your back. (You can probably increase your height by a few inches with diet and lifestyle changes, especially if you are still in your teens or even your early 20s (for boys).) Get back to me after 4 months for further guidance. All the Best!

Things To Know Before Going For Tattoo Removal

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Faridabad
Things To Know Before Going For Tattoo Removal

There is nothing more exciting than getting inked. It is also one of the most dangerous things you can do to yourself. Not many people know that there is a real risk involved with tattoos – getting them as well as getting them removed.

We all know a tattoo can come with a real risk of blood-borne diseases and allergies, and a bad job by the tattoo artist. If the tattoo needle is not new and has been used on an infected person, you run a real risk of getting infected with herpes, tetanus, fungal infections, hepatitis and even HIV. The health risks of tattooing are not so well known in India but they are real.

But tattoo removal can be even more dangerous, time consuming and expensive than getting a tattoo. If you have outgrown your tattoo and want it removed, read this carefully to understand the process while keeping yourself safe.

Tattoo removal involves a process opposite to inking. It’s done using lasers. Pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo to break up the pigment which has been deposited in the dermis or deep layer of the skin during tattooing. This process breaks down the tattoo ink. Over weeks, the broken down ink gets absorbed by the body.

Different lasers are used to remove different types of tattoo ink and it’s usually the doctor doing the procedure who decides which laser to use.

  1. Laser treatment differs from patient to patient based on the age, size, and type of tattoo. The colour of the patient's skin, as well as the depth of the tattoo pigment also influences the technique used for removal.

  2. Lasers are not benign so your doctor must test the laser to check out the most effective energy for tattoo removal.

  3. Laser consists of pulse of light. Smaller tattoo removal requires less pulse of light and bigger ones more pulses.

Sounds easy and painless, but it is not. The break down of the tattoo pigments takes weeks and repeated visits to the clinic. If the doctor removing your tattoo is not good, even the removal of a small tattoo can cause permanent scarring or discoloration of your skin. Parts of the body with thin skin (ankles, wrists, and spine) are more likely to scar than thicker- skinned areas. Other side effects are infections and hypo-pigmentation.

Even though doctors and laser practitioners claim more than 95% removal of tattoos is possible, the reality is that complete removal may never be possible.

So, if you find it impossible to live with your tattoo and a divorce is imminent, you should look for a real good dermatologist for laser removal of tattoos and not submit yourself to quacks.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite.  Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week. This will help to remove the dead cells and open pores, thus lightening your skin tone. Always use sunscreen 20 minutes before stepping out from home. A good sunscreen with SPF 40 will help to prevent tan in the Indian climate. Drink adequate amount of water to keep your body and skin hydrated. A good sleep at night is also very important for healthy and glowing skin If you mean black spots , then Apply Bio- vally's skin lightening cream.

Being packed with protein, calcium, and fats, cheese helps obtain healthy weight gain. One serving of cheese can give enough calories to your body. It really tastes delicious. Choose cottage cheese as it contains high quality protein ‘casein’, which takes time to digest, and thus, results in weight gain. For quick result, eat it before bed time.

How would I cure back acne with medication. I am already using medicines for this but it is very slow.

MBBS, Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Delhi
How would I cure back acne with medication. I am already using medicines for this but it is very slow.
You can't always control whether you get back acne, because the main factors that predispose you to developing bacne ( hormonal fluctuations and genetics ) are out of your control. These acnes sometimes take time to clear up even with the most accurate medicines.I would recommend you to continue with the prescription that your doctor has advised.Along with you may follow the following simple steps to reduce your chances of developing future back acne lesions: 1. Avoiding certain medications. Some drugs, including androgens (male hormones) and lithium, are known to increase your chances of developing acne. If you are taking any of these medications, talk with your doctor about possible alternative treatments. 2. Limiting your use of oil-based skin care products. Try not to use moisturizers, cosmetics, sunscreens, and any other oily products on your back, because they can lead to back acne flare-ups. Also, look for products labeled non-comedogenic, meaning that they don't promote blackheads. 3. Eliminating pressure on your back. If you carry a backpack or wear sports equipment, like shoulder pads, that places pressure on your back, try not wearing it for a while or, alternatively, wear a clean cotton T-shirt under it. Prolonged pressure and friction from these objects on your back can trigger certain types of back acne breakouts, called acne mechanica. 4. Practicing good skin care. When you have back acne, it's especially important to properly care for your skin. This includes regularly washing your skin with a gentle cleanser, taking a shower after you exercise, keeping your hair clean (make sure you thoroughly rinse off any hair conditioner in the shower), not squeezing or picking back acne lesions, and avoiding excessive sun exposure.
