Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need a re root canal treatment. Until then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth. Rinse frequently with mouth wash. Advise c. Amox 500mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1, thrice daily, t. Imol 1-1-1, thrice daily (contraindicated in conditions with gastric ulcer, asthma, wheezing, allergy), c. Becosules 1-0-0 once daily all for 3 days only. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Teeth cannot become white by brushing n all. U require teeth bleaching for bright white teeth. And after treatment avoid smoking and tea.

Dear lybrate-user, you have bleeding gums due to accumulation of food debris, which is a result of inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. I suggest that you get thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist, and use antibacterial mouthwashes thereafter. You should also clean your tongue twice daily with a tongue cleaner. Following all these measures will solve your problem. Hope that helps.

Can't open my mouth due wisdom teeth. It's now locked.. I am not able to open more then 1 inch. Surgery is compulsory for that? Is there any other options.

Impacted tooth keeps on hurting you on n off. Its always advisable to get them removed if they are not going to erupt.

I have pain in my teeth since 1 month ago now it is very painful what should I do?

Usually, dental pain is because of infected pulp. And taking painkillers will not help much. If you need a permanent relief, you have to consult a dentist. Get your xray done and let him advice the necessary treatment. For the time being, you can take any drug having paracetamol 500 mg 2/3 times a day to manage pain. Remember, with medications pain will subside but it is not a permanent solution.

Root canal done. A small bit of drill bit got lodged in. After 1 year a small 2 cm diameter hard ball formed below that tooth. Sometimes it bulges out and gives slight pain. Other times it doesn't bulge out though it is there. Dentist took xray. He says the drill bit is NOT the reason. What should I do?

Hi, mostly the reson is that broken drill only, bcz of the drill Root canals not cleaned up properly and still left over infectious material creating trouble for you..send me your Xray and everything will be clear....

I am using branded toothpaste and brush, still have stink in mouth. Please suggest.

Hi, a healthy mouth doesnot depend on how expensive your toothpaste or toothbrush is. It depends on how you brush your teeth. An oral prophylaxis (scaling) followed by a proper bushing technique will solve your problem. Dr Pooja Patel Mumbai

Hello. Tooth sensitivity — also known as dentin hypersensitivity — affects the tooth or exposed root surfaces. This occurs when the enamel that protects our teeth gets thinner, or when gum recession occurs, exposing the underlying surface, the dentin, thus, reducing the protection the enamel and gums provide to the tooth and root. If hot, cold, sweet or very acidic foods and drinks, or breathing in cold air, makes your teeth or a tooth sensitive or painful then you may have sensitive teeth. Tooth sensitivity can come and go over time. Causes: There are many causes of tooth sensitivity, including: Worn tooth enamel from using a hard toothbrush or brushing too aggressively Tooth erosion due to highly acidic foods and beverages Tooth erosion due to bulimia or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gum recession that leaves your root surface exposed There are several conditions which can cause pain, but which are not tooth sensitivity: Dental caries A cracked or chipped tooth Grinding or clenching the teeth Leakage around restorations External tooth bleaching Management: Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing gums from receding and causing sensitive-tooth pain. If you brush your teeth incorrectly, or over-brush, your gums may become sensitive. Brushing properly twice daily for 2 minutes with toothpaste that does not have high levels of abrasives, and flossing once a day, can help reduce the chance of tooth sensitivity. A diet low in acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, tea, citrus fruits) and drinks also helps prevent tooth sensitivity. As the blood supply to the injured tooth gets affected which causes change in colour and thickness of the tooth. Treatment: Apply Plantago Q/ few drops on cotton swab, place it on the affected teeth and press it tightly, do it thrice a day. Orally, take Mag. Phos. 6x and Arnica 200 - both 3 times a day for a month. Do visit a dentist for proper diagnosis, share the reports with me. In case possible, will help you in treating your problem.
