Sir, I have migraine problem since from last 10years. What the cause behind this and what is the best treatment for migraine.

BHMS
Homeopath, Delhi
Hello, there can be many reasons behind it *stress *depression *irregular sleep. *exposure to sun may also cause headache in sensitive individuals. Some people are unable to tolerate the heat of the sun and they complain of pain in the head whenever they go out in the sun. *loud noise. This disturbs the balance of the brain. Take homoeopathic medicine gelsemium 30 (4 drops in little water) thrice a day for a week and update. *massaging the head with soothing oils is also an excellent way to get relief from head pain. *avoid stress and anger. *take a sound sleep. *do yoga.

Sir my mother age 65 yrs, diagnosed bell palsy for past 2 month. But till now do not have much improvement. She was treated in hospital for 4 days taking steroids for 1 month n right now doing physio. Is there any other treatment for it. Please advise.

DM - Neurology
Neurologist,
Hi lybrate-user - for "Bell's palsy" the treatment is a course of oral steroids in tapering doses for 7 days; after that period is over, the only intervention that has been shown to be better than placebo is physiotherapy. So, to give you a short answer - No, there is no (scientifically - proven) therapy which can be given to her at this point. I would like to point out a few things here: (1) Ensure the diagnosis is accurate; though Bell's is the most common condition, the age of 67 years would make us consider more serious conditions - at least to keep our eyes and ears open; (2) Even if there is no visible improvement after the use of steroid, at the very least, it prevents further worsening, which is a very important thing - because, the worst complication of Bell's palsy is the eyelid becoming so weak that the eye gets exposed and the cornea can suffer (secondary) exposure keratitis, leading, at its worst, to corneal blindness; so rest assured that the use of oral steroids was not a useless exercise; (3) Bell's palsy has a monophasic course - which is to say, it rarely, if ever, recurs - so much so that if facial palsy does recur in your mother's case, then the treating doctor should seriously consider alternative diagnoses. That is a point which should help you to relax. Do continue physiotherapy, it has been shown to have significant benefit - though you shouldn't be expecting miracles.

Cannabis An Ancient Treatment For Epilepsy

Cbd oil for epilepsy

Cannabis indica and cannabis sativa have been used therapeutically for thousands of years, including for the treatment of epilepsy. Today, cannabis is viewed as a controversial medical subject - thanks in large part to prohibition and decades of misinformation - but prior to 1937's 'marihuana tax act' cannabis was accepted by doctors and patients as a true medicine, and considered one of the safest and most effective forms of seizure control medication.

Dear Ma'am, As per your description, it seems to be a case of Migraine. In Ayurveda there are certain panchakarma therapies which are used to treat migraine problems. Sometimes repeated courses of therapies might be needed for getting a complete cure. So please go and consult an Ayurvedic physician and get treated.

I hava migraine problem what should I do is there any precaution to to overcome migraine problem.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
There can be many causes of a headache such as physiological changes in the head, constriction of blood vessels, abnormal neuron activity, genetic causes, excessive smoking, excessive drinking, lack of water in the body, oversleeping, overuse of pain killers, eye strain, neck strain, and others. Ginger ginger can help reduce inflammation of the blood vessels in the head, thus providing relief from a headache. Mix equal parts of ginger juice and lemon juice. Consume it once or twice a day. Another option is to apply a paste of one teaspoon of dry ginger powder, also called sonth, and two tablespoons of water on the forehead for a few minutes. You can also boil ginger powder or raw ginger in water, and inhale the vapor. Chew one or two pieces of crystallized ginger candy.

not getting menstruation could be due to breast feeding of the baby. if not you have to look for other causes. epilepsy and the medicines used for treating it are not known to cause any menstrual disturbance. if you are not breast feeding pregnancy has to be ruled out and other causes have to be looked in to.

I have headache problem. Please tell me the symptoms of migraine and prescription for that.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Migraine is a kind of relapsing headache. Its symptoms include - episodic unilateral or bilateral, severe and pulsating headaches, associated at times with nausea and vomiting, relieved momentarily on rest or taking medications and aggravated by precipitating factors. The treatment of migraine is mainly done for relief from acute headache attacks and later treatments to prevent future relapses. Also treatment of factors which tend to cause relapses is also important. Consult a headache specialist for a composite and complete treatment. You may contact me online for further queries and assistance in treatment in this regard.
