Many of us today have jobs which require extended periods of sitting. Is it good for us? Definitely not.

Research has shown that sitting for prolonged durations has many dangerous effects on our body in the long term.

1) On your back -
The problem: sitting for long hours can cause muscle aches and pains. It can also lead to abnormal bending of your spine which may make one more prone to have long term back pain.
The solution: keep your back straight and maintain proper posture.

2) On your weight -
The problem: according to a recent research, people who say they watch television frequently are 40 per cent less likely to exercise than non-tv watchers.
The solution: get up and get moving.

3) On your brain
The problem: researchers recently found that prolonged session of watching tv before going to bed makes it harder to fall asleep, reduces sleep, and makes one groggy the next day, even after clocking eight hours of sleep. The reason is that the blue light which the television emits, inhibits the release of melatonin, a hormone that helps you go to sleep.
The solution: limit your tv viewing to two hours after work.

4) On your lungs
The problem: among the many health hazards it causes, sitting for long hours can also shrink your lung capacity by a third, so you get less oxygen, which causes a decrease in mental focus the second you sit on the couch.
The solution: sit on a chair with a pillow behind your lower back. It is a position that helps open your lungs.

5) On your heart
The problem: An international study found out that on an average, every single hour of television watching after 25 reduces life expectancy by close to 22 minutes.
The solution: researchers have discovered little mortality risk for people who watch less than an hour a day. Pick a show that's a real brain numbing deal, so you're more likely to need time between episodes.

Hi, do regular exercise. Take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight. Include protein rich food in your diet. No drink before and with meals. If you are non vegetarian include eggs chicken and fish in your diet. Take small and frequent meals. Hello, You should take a homeopathic tincture called Arnica Montana and mix 1 tsp in 1/2 cup of water and apply upon the face on the beard and the mustache area with a cotton swab. Then use the razor movement technique. Take Sulphur 200, 5 drops once in a week. Take pituitarinum 1x, 1 tablet daily for 15 days. Repeat the process every third day . Revert me after 1 month.

1. Basil Leaves The soothing and carminative properties of basil leaves can give you instant relief from constipation, gas and nausea. •Simply eat some basil leaves at the first sign of acid upset. Be sure to chew them thoroughly. •Another option is to boil three to five basil leaves in a cup of water and then let it simmer for a few minutes. You can sweeten this basil tea with honey. Do not add milk, though. Sip it frequently. 2. Cinnamon Cinnamon is good for your digestive health. It works as a natural antacid and helps dispel stomach gas. 1.Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of water. 2.Bring it to a boil and then allow it to steep for a few minutes. 3.Drink this cinnamon tea two to three times a day. You can also add cinnamon powder to your soup or salad. 3. Buttermilk Another simple home remedy for acidity is buttermilk. It contains lactic acid that normalizes the constipation in the stomach. You can buy buttermilk or make it yourself. •Grind half to one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds with a little water to make a paste. Mix it in a glass of plain buttermilk, also called chaas, and consume it to relieve stomach ache caused by constipation. •Or, you can simply drink plain buttermilk several times a day until you get relief. Mix in a little black pepper or one teaspoon of ground coriander leaves for best results. 4. Apple Cider Vinegar Though acidic in nature, apple cider vinegar has an alkalizing effect. Thus, it helps treat stomach acidity and constipation. •Simply mix one or two teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a cup of water. •Drink it once or twice a day. You can also drink it before meals. 5. Cloves Cloves can help alleviate constipation and dispel gas due to their carminative effect that increases hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Contrary to the popular belief, acidity can be caused due to low stomach acid too. •Chew two to three cloves thoroughly so that the juices are released into your system. •Eating crushed cloves and cardamom mixed in equal amounts can help minimize acid trouble and freshen bad breath that often accompanies this problem. 6. Cumin Seeds Cumin seeds can also be used to treat acidity and constipation as cumin works as a great acid neutralizer. Also, it aids in digestion and relieves stomach pain. •Slightly crush some roasted cumin seeds and stir it into a glass of water. Drink it after every meal. •You can also boil one teaspoon of cumin seeds in a cup of water, strain it and then drink the water after your meal. •Another option is to mix one teaspoon each of coriander seed powder, cumin seed powder, fennel seed powder and some sugar in one-half cup of water. Drink it on an empty stomach. •7. Ginger The anti-inflammatory properties in ginger help treat acidity and constipation. Ginger juice can also neutralize stomach acids. •During acidity just chew a slice of fresh ginger. •You can also put some fresh ginger slices in a cup of boiling water, let it steep for a few minutes and then drink it. •Even a spoonful of ginger juice taken two to three times a day can provide relief from acidity.

Crush three or four aspirin tablets and add a small amount of water to make a smooth, thick paste. 2. Do this daily until the keloid is gone. Aloe vera aloe vera is very good for the skin and can be used in the treatment of keloids. It will help reduce inflammation, keep the skin well-moisturized and heal damaged skin. It also helps prevent skin infections. 1. Clean the scarred area thoroughly with lukewarm water. 1.2. Apply fresh aloe vera gel on the scars twice daily. 3. To conclude, you can try a variety of home treatments for keloids. In hypothyroidism:-- where there is deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Treatment for hypothyroidism is giving thyroxine tablets. And dose are according to level of thyroid for life time. Avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Go for walk, Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Do Tests every 3 to 6 months. And consut doctor on time.

Hi, go for a brisk walk in d morning. Go for meditation to reduce your stress, anxiety & to nourish the whole body. Go for either of cycling, swimming, gardening, dancing, playing badminton. Maintain 1200-1600 calories, through dietary regulation. Tk, 4 marie, biscuits with a cup of tea, morning at 7.00 am. 3 sliced bread with one cup of milk at 9.00 am. 3 breads, small bowl of pulses, green vegetable, curds small bowl. 4 marie biscuits with a cup of tea at 4.00 pm again, 3 breads, green vegetables small bowl & diluted curds, small bowl. At 9.00 pm, night. Finally 1 cup of milk at bed time. You can consume 100 grams of fruits. Avoid, direct sweets, caffiene, nicotine, alcohol, junk food. Tk, plenty of water to eliminate toxins and to regulate metabolism. Tk care.

Hello I have recently diagnosed with a gallbladder stone of 8 mm. I asked doctor and he said that surgery is the only option to get it out along with gallbladder. I looked up google and found some links where they say that I can remove stone from gallbladder if I drink olive oil and lemon juice mixture. Now my questions are 1. If I go for surgery will there be any impact in future, since I have stomach problems very commonly. 2. Is it true that I can remove stones by drinking olive oil and lemon juice? If yes are there any harmful or dangerous consequences that can happen. 3. Ever since I got diagnosed I am facing problems with urinating. It is coming very frequently and improperly. Kindly help.

Dear lybrate user gall stones have been well cured through constitutional treatment with no future recurrence ,cutting of an organ is not a cure ,disease is not something hidden in parts but it is a process and has to be reverted back by proper internal medicinal treatment,also olive oil and lemon juice are food items and should be taken in moderation and cannot cure since they are in there crude state ,may be some palliation may result in very huge doses but its not healthy

Hello, Water requirement is based on various factors like body fat,height,weight,climate,physiology etc. Dont force feed water,that wont help. There is a calculation for this .

Having cystic acne from last 6 years .especially near chin area. Then spreading all over if left untreated. Being on allopathy medicines. But when leave it again comes back. Have boils also near arm pits. Had fistula also 2 years back. Which is being treated with ksharsutra method. N then also had tb medicines. For 9 months. Really helpless.
