Dear lybrate-user, while your concern for using insulin is valid, but it seems you are putting him at risk associated with uncontrolled diabetes. You have to understand that at some point oral meds will be insufficient to controll blood sugar hence insulin is needed which is most effective way. Uncontrolled blood sugar can lead to too many longterm complications like stroke, heart attack, loss of vision, leg ulcer etc. My advice would be to follow your physician advice even if it means starting insulin.

Mr. Lybrate-user, it shows that diabetes is not in control, there is no mention about hba1c%, which gives an idea about last three months blood sugar control. It is essential to achieve better sugar control because high sugar level affects every single vital organ and damages it. You should also get the eves checked to see if there is retinal involvement. Your current treatment is not helping in proper control, it needs to be improved, either additional drug increasing dosage. Plus a good look has to be given towards diet and exercise. With regards.

Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH 7.7 mU/L is considered as subclinical hypothyroidism, which usually not treated. More so in children. Only when TSH level crosses 10 mU/L then treatment is considered. Many a times in later years TSH returns to normal. Thanks.

Dear , your blood glucose levels are almost doubled, especially your hba1c test. You need to strictly follow a high fibre, low carb, moderate protein, low fat diet plan. Immediately take expert advice, and I am sure you are going to get back to normal. Try to chew 10 tender guava leaves daily morning on empty stomach and swallow the juice excluding the roughage.

If your Fasting Blood Sugar is 112. Then you are in 'Pre-Diabetic' stage. It means you do not need medicine. Just change in diet + daily exercise can bring down your sugar levels. No need to take medicine now. Take food as per diabetic diet and you will be fine. Get your Blood sugar test every month till it comes below 100.

Hi, I am having diabetic problem. Need few diet maintain prescription. Please suggest.
The increase in the blood sugar levels damages nerves and blood vessels. It also leads to complications like cardiovascular diseases, strokes, kidney problems, blindness, dental problems and amputations. High blood glucose levels also damage nerves and blood vessels. Diabetes can also lead to depression, fertility issues, and increased risk of other diseases and lack of mobility as the age of the person increases. It is very difficult to find out what exactly triggers diabetes, but health experts say that genes and environmental factors are responsible for rise in blood glucose levels. There are two types of diabetes- type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Let us study the causes that give rise to type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a grave medical condition, but with a healthy diet and regular exercise, managing the condition becomes a child? s play. Here are a handful of diabetes home remedies every diabetic can rely on to keep fluctuations of sugar levels under control. Bitter gourd: bitter gourds are one among the most effective ways for preventing sugar level fluctuations. Being a safe vegetable, this iron-rich gourd can be consumed by anyone. It influences the glucose metabolism in the body and helps stimulate pancreatic insulin secretion. Known to thwart off insulin resistance, bitter gourd is equally beneficial for people suffering from type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Drink a glass of bitter gourd juice, flavored with a little honey, every morning to keep diabetes away. Guava is rich in both vitamin c and fiber, both that help in maintaining normal blood sugar levels. A very good home remedy for diabetes. Just peel the skin and consume one fruit daily to reap its benefits get some physical activity daily to burn calories and stay in shape. This will also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Have a lot of fiber in the form of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains any queries inform me.

Hi I am 65 and diabetes should include chicken and alcohol in my diet at weekends.
Chicken is lean protein so it is good for the body and does no harm. So you can include it any time you want. Alcohol is empty calories. And it is either made of malt or grains. They can give a spike to your blood sugar. Avoiding it completely is the best solution, but if you really feel like drinking then 1 peg with no added sugary drinks to it can be consumed. Do not snack fried food with it. Do mainly salads n nuts with it.
