I am a 25 year old female. I have been having this lower back pain since a month now. It started with my periods. I thought is normal as I have lower back pain and cramps during periods but this time it did not go away. I cannot locate the pain externally but its severe when I do any physical activity that involves stress of the affected area. I have history of pregnancy and abortion too but overcame all without any side affects. I do not have history of any fatal disease either. I am usually active and schedule little work out time to time. I have an average body weight and healthy body. But I do skip meals a lot and I tend to sit continuously for 8 hours in office. Please suggest me a valuable advice. Thank you.

Dear lybrate-user Your pain seems to be related to your posture .Hormonal changes during your menses may make it worse. I would advise the following - 1. MRI of the Lumbar spine to rule out any disc herniation or other spinal conditions. 2.Back strengthening exercises like the Bhujangasana ,avoid the exercises when you have severe pain. Go for regular brisk walks but avoid jumping or running and high heels. Take a diet rich in calcium like milk, eggs and green leafy vegetables .Take half an hour of sun exposure to improve your Vitamin D levels. Hope this helps.

I have a job in software company. Earlier it was stressful job but last 4.5 years it is not. Have a tendency to increase weight. Current weight is increased from 75 to 82. I daily do stretch exercise with 50 push-ups to increase the strength of muscles. Started jogging but back pain started hence stopped. I am a vegetarian and love to eat home food. Hi lybrate-usertips for weight loss eat fresh vegetables daily. Avoid having sugar completely. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread; avoid everything made from white flour and make whole wheat bread, chapattis and brown rice a way of life. Do not skip a meal and eat three meals a day. Drink plenty of water to eliminate the toxins from the system. Limit your fat intake to 2-3 teaspoons a day. I am suffering with cervical neck pain, is it possible to cure with natural treatment.
This is cervical pain (neck pain) and that's the reason the pain radiates until the shoulder blades. If you keep ice that would help and along side you can do hot water fermentation. You shall use cervical collar which would help you to reduce the radiating pain ie. Due to the nerve compression I used to have a shoulder pain for working in front of the computer. Do you suggest any medicine or exercise? This is due to the improper posture as while sitting in front of the computer and it leads to neck pain and thereby it leads to shoulder pain.

1. It could be due to rheumatoid arthritis. 2. Do investigations like esr, cbc, rheumatoid factor, c reactive protein, ana (anti nuclear antibody) 3. Consult rheumatologist with report for advice and treatment.

Dear Sir It all depends on your condition of your knee at present. Basically there are three grades of Osteoarthritis. Grade 1 in which there is reduction of joint space 10 to 20%,Grade 2 in which there is reduction of 50 to 60 % and grade 3 in which there is 80 or more than 80 percent reduction so first of all we will have to see in which grades your knees are?

Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.
