It is normal to lose about 30-80 strands of hair in a day. The common reasons behind hair fall are lack of essential nutrients in the body, improper and unhealthy dietary habits, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, dandruff, alopecia and other scalp disorders, stress and tension etc. Natural oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, almond etc. Can be used to massage the scalp for countering hair fall. Gently massage the scalp prior to head bath twice a week. Also check hemoglobin for anaemia and thyroid status with serum tsh. Have more proteins and trace minerals like copper, zinc, selenium in diet. Start taking a hair nutrition supplement. Keep stress away with regular exercise, yoga, meditation. Get the underlying scalp condition like dandruff treated.

Menorrhagia - Symptoms, Causes And Treatment

Menorrhagia is menstrual condition characterized by an abnormal loss of blood or heavy, prolonged bleeding. Although heavy bleeding is not uncommon in premenopausal women, menorrhagia is a severe condition which generally interferes with your daily activities. If your vagina bleeds irregularly or between periods, in addition to such heavy bleeding that at least one pad or tampon gets soaked every few hours, it is highly recommended that you seek medical attention.

Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of menorrhagia include:

  1. Soaking through more than one tampon or sanitary pad for every few hours
  2. The need to use double sanitary protection
  3. Heavy bleeding for weeks on end
  4. The need to wake up at night to change your sanitary protection
  5. Restriction of daily activities due to heavy menstrual flow
  6. Symptoms of fatigue, such as excessive tiredness as well as shortness of breath

Causes
Although the exact causes are unknown, here are a few causes that may be responsible:

  1. Hormonal imbalance is when there is an hormone imbalance, the endometrium develops in excess and sheds away with menstruation
  2. In Ovary dysfunction, if your ovaries do not ovulate, your body won't be able to produce the hormone progesterone resulting in a hormonal imbalance problem which may lead to menorrhagia
  3. Uterine fibroids are benign tumors which start appearing in your childbearing years
  4. Polyps are small benign growths found on the uterine lining
  5. Adenomyosis occurs when your glands from the endometrium becomes embedded in the uterine muscle
  6. By using Intrauterine device (IUD) menorrhagia may occur as a side-effect
  7. Pregnancy complications, for instance, an ectopic pregnancy can cause it
  8. Inherited bleeding disorders, such as von Willebrand disease
  9. Certain medications like anti-inflammatory drugs
  10. Other medical conditions, like pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis

Treatment
Treatment for menorrhagia depends on a number of factors like the cause and severity of the condition, or your tolerance for specific therapies or medications.
Some drug therapies for menorrhagia include:

  1. Iron supplements
  2. Tranexamic acid
  3. Oral progesterone
  4. Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  5. Oral contraceptives
  6. Hormonal IUD

If drug therapy is ineffective, other treatment options may include:

  1. Dilation and curettage
  2. Focused ultrasound ablation
  3. Uterine artery embolization
  4. Endometrial ablation
  5. Myomectomy
  6. Endometrial resection
  7. Hysterectomy

As per your height, your weight should be 60 kg. Here are some tips: 1. Increase physical activity level- brisk walk + kapalbhati daily for 1 hr, take stairs instead of lift, walk instead of hiring transport 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Replace simple carbs like potato sugar, sabudana refined grains (white rice, white bread, maida, noodles, biscuit, cake) with complex carbs- whole fruits, vegetables, whole grains (atta, dalia, suji, oats, barley, jowar, brown rice, atta bread), whole legumes (chana, moth, mung gota, rajma, soybean) 4. Have 6-8 small meals daily instead of 3-4 large ones 5. Eat slowly & chew your food well. 7. Avoid junk/ processed/ packaged/ fried/ sugary foods, soft & hard drinks, ice cream, sweets, chocolates, glucose, energy drinks.

Thanks for the query. Getting flat wash board abs is all about eating right. Plan a routine keeping the following points in mind. Calories should not be so less that your metabolism goes low. Your needs will increase or decrease depending on your work out. Since you are going to work out at least 5 days a week your protein needs are going to be high to help prevent muscle loss. Eggs, chiken ,nuts, airy, pulses,soy, dry fruits etc. Are all protein sources. To include complex carbohydrate through whole grains vegetables and pulses. Don't go too low on carbs as they are energy sources for our body especially on hard work out days. Include healthy fats in your main meals through nuts, fatty fish coconut oil or ghee or olive oil Limit it to about 15% of your daily calorie needs. Avoid salty junk foods. Drink about 3 liters of water per day. Sleep well.

I'm 21 years old. My ECG always shows first degree av block and left ventricular hypertrophy. But Echo cardiograph and TMT are normal. But many time heartbeats missing and I feel hard beats. This problem does two aur three time in a week. I'm also feeling weakness , vibrate feeling in hands many time. So kya ye gastric problem se bhi ho sakta hai. And kya ye serious hai.

Yes you are right, this can be gastric problem too. Good to know about normal reports of echo & tmt. Get your blood sugar tested. Eat less oily food with minimal salt which you must be aware about prevention of heart disease-diet is very important. Avoid bad fats like burgers and street food. Take good fats like a spoon of pure ghee/butter+ a katori of assorted nuts to give you good fats and proteins. Eat salads, seasonal vegetables and fruits but no juices. The fiber absorbs acid. No medicines to reduce acidity take home cooked food with ginger, garlic, ajwain, jeera, heeng. Every 2 hours take a warm beverage like green tea, warm water with honey and lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, clear soups, diluted toned warm milk with anything added to it of your choice. Warm liquids wash away accumulated acid in stomach. Make eating right food at 21 a habit for life.

Hello, as you are a male of 18yrs., so you are left with only 3 yrs. more to increase height. Start taking homoeopathic medicines which are safe to take without any side-effects - Bakson's Gro-up drops/ 10 drops and Five Phos. - both thrice daily and Thuja 1M/ one dose once a week - take them for 1 month only. Management: Take milk and milk products which contains more calcium. More of protein (for cell multiplication) like pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts, flaxseeds, non-veg, eggs, etc. Also, don't forget to take green vegetables, yellow veggies and fruits, seasonal fruits, salads, etc. Do skip rope daily, initially 10-20 times later gradually and slowly increase the frequency as per your capacity. Sir. My mother is a rhutd- arthrities patient and taking prednisolone, hcq, leflunomide, shelcal 500 regularly. My question is if she stops taking prednisolene for some time will it affect? another one is, taking regular calcium tablet, can it create stone in the stomach? your advice please.

Prednisolone should be weaned off gradually. Continue with other medicimes as before until all symptoms are controlled. Kindly show me photograph& the x rays of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. Avoid extra salt oil & maida products. Avoid fruit juices. Avoid mango banana chickoo grapes custord apple. Avoid dates cashew kismis. You can have almonds. Daily 40 min walking is must. Frequent small snacking instead of large meals. Increase dietary fiber.
