My teeth gums are bleeding.
So I can't take hard foods like apple guavava etc.
We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have a ulcer problem. yesterday I had headache and fever. What medicine do I have to take?
Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take 'Becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief..

Sir, my problem is mouth ulcers. I want to know whether it is due to excessive use of pain killers that I have taken during spinal injury?

ENT Specialist, Visakhapatnam
Might be. Might be not. But mouth ulcers are seen in people undergoing stress. If you have stopped eating vegetables and fruits regularly, then it may add to the problem. Eat lot of amla, guava, lemon, leafy vegetables, badam, cashew n other dry fruits. Maybe even try some vitamin syrup. Your ulcers will slowly resolve with you stress dear brother. God bless you get well soon.

Our teeth should only be used for chewing purposes. Using them for performing other activities such as cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can cause chipped or broken teeth.

I have problem in my teeth. My one teeth have hole. Can I fill this or should I replace with new teeth? Please advise.

A clinial examination followed by a dental radio-graph will be necessary to diagnose and treat your problem accordingly.

You have symptoms of oral submucous fibrosis. It is a precancerous lesion hence it is advisable for you to discontinue ghutka, supari, tobacco in any form. Also avoid green chellies and tomato seeds. Good news is treatment and recovery is possible if and only if you discontinue with your habits. Dentist can help you with treatment. Treatment comprises of biweekly injections for 5 weeks. It will gv you considerable relief. Till then take tablet sm fibro from medical shop twice daily. Ask if you hv any other questions. Will be happy to help u.

Dear Dr. There is blood bleed from my teeth, whenever I spit, I can see blood in it.
Hello, bleeding gums could be because of deposits on the teeth or food lodged in between your teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush your teeth twice daily, night brushing is very important. Floss regularly. Rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

I need to have a tooth implant in place of a milk tooth, I want to inquire about the procedure and budget.

Dentist, Patiala
I need to have a tooth implant in place of a milk tooth, I want to inquire about the procedure and budget.
It depends on which tooth you want to replace. Anterior teeth are usually very costly. 30k is starting cost. Procedure is not very invasive but you should not dink any alcohal or smoke till the procedure is on. And you should keep your cavity clean. Otherwise it may result in impalnt falure.

You have to get an x-ray done, a full mouth x-ray, (opg! and show it to a dentist. If there are carious teeth the dentist will help you to fill them and get your teeth restored. Also get scaling done at the dentists. If you visit mumbai you can visit my clinic too.

Regular Care for Dentures

MDS, BDS, Sedation(Inhalation) Specialist
Dentist, Hyderabad
Regular Care for Dentures

Teeth need to be maintained well be it natural or artificial. While the natural teeth have their own built-in safety mechanisms, the artificial ones do not and the onus is completely on the owner to care for them. Dentures can be fixed or removable (partial or complete). For best appearance and proper functioning, these need to be cared for as listed below.

Removable dentures, whether partial or complete, do the following with your removable dentures.

1. Remove and rinse dentures after eating: Take out your dentures and wash it under running water to remove food debris.

2. Handle with care: Especially if your denture has clasps, be sure to not bend them as it may alter the fit. While removing and wearing it, be careful to not drop it, the denture can break.

3. Mouth rinse: Rinse your mouth each time after you remove the denture and before each time you put them back in.

4. Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush for regular cleaning of teeth and tongue. If no teeth are present, use a soft gauze pad and plain finger massage to clean the gum line and bone on which the denture sits.

5. Soak dentures: When not in the mouth, always place your dentures in a bowl of water. Solution for soaking dentures are available, to be used for overnight denture soaking. When left in open air, the material used to make the denture is affected and may not fit properly over a period of time. Rinse them thoroughly before putting it back in the mouth.

6. Clean your dentures: Rinse the dentures at least twice daily. This will help remove food and plaque.

7. Denture adhesive: When using a denture adhesive, extra cleaning around the area that fits into the gum and bone should be done.

8. Regular dental visits: Visit your dentist regularly to ensure that dentures are fitting properly, functioning as expected and the other parts of the mouth are constantly checked for general health. Ill-fitting dentures can lead to irritation, sores and infection and so should be immediately attended to.

Some things to avoid if you are a denture user are as follows:

1. Soaking the denture in hot water: The denture material can get warped when it is soaked in hot water and have spots on it, which impacts the looks of it.

2. Hard toothbrushes: Always use a soft toothbrush

3. Toothpastes with whitening agents: In most cases, the denture cleanser and normal water and sufficient to clean dentures with a soft brush.

4. Fixed dentures: These are easier to manage than the removable ones. However, periodic visits to the dentist for regular check up is a must. A visit every 6 months is ideal to maintain proper oral hygiene. In addition, regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing are to be continued.
