Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation you need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.

I'm 21 years and since many days I'm suffering from irritation in my outer region of the vagina. The irritation subsides on its own and then again starts after some days. Please maintain hygiene. Wash your undergarments with dettol water daily please check you are having any uti or not? also if you are having any white discharge? if so get it corrected. Till the time apply coconut oil on the affected area to relieve itching.

Changing your behaviour – your physical work, lifestyle, and even your way of thinking -- are all natural depression treatments .these tips can help you feel better -- starting right now. 1. Get in a routine. If you’re depressed, you need a routine depression can strip away the structure from your life. One day melts into the next. Setting a gentle daily schedule can help you get back on track. 2. When you're depressed, you may feel like you can't accomplish anything. That makes you feel worse about yourself. To push back, set daily goals for yourself. "Start very small,” "Make your goal something that you can succeed at, like doing the dishes every other day. As you start to feel better, you can add more challenging daily goals. 3. Exercise- It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals called endorphins. It may also have long-term benefits for people. Regular exercise seems to encourage the brain to rewire itself in positive ways. How much exercise do you need? You don’t need to run marathons to get a benefit. Just walking a few times a week can help. 4. Eat healthy. There is no magic / special; diet that corrects depression. It's a good idea to watch what you eat, though. If depression tends to make you overeat, getting in control of your eating will help you feel better. Although nothing is definitive, there’s evidence that foods with omega-3 fatty acids (such as fish) and folic acid (such as spinach) could help ease depression. 5. Get enough sleep. Depression can make it hard to get enough sleep and can make depression worse. What can you do? Start by making some changes to your lifestyle. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try not to nap. Take all the distractions out of your bedroom -- no computer and no TV. In time, you may find your sleep improves. 6. Take on responsibilities. When you’re depressed, you may want to pull back from life and give up your responsibilities at home and at work. Staying involved and having daily responsibilities can work as a natural depression treatment. They ground you and give you a sense of accomplishment. If you're not up to full-time school or work, that’s fine. Think about part-time. If that seems like too much, consider volunteer work. 7. Challenge negative thoughts. In your fight against depression, a lot of the work is mental -- changing how you think. When you're depressed, you leap to the worst possible conclusions. You might feel like no one likes you, but is there real evidence for that? You might feel like the most worthless person on the planet, but is that really likely? It takes practice, but in time you can beat back those negative thoughts before they get out of control. 8. Check with your doctor before using supplements. "There's promising evidence for certain supplements for depression, Those include fish oil, folic acid. Always check with your doctor before starting any supplement, especially if you’re already taking medications 9. Do something new. When you’re depressed, you’re in a rut. Push yourself to do something different. Go to a museum. Pick up a used book and read it on a park bench. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Take a language class. "When we challenge ourselves to do something different, there are chemical changes in the brain, "Trying something new alters the levels of [the brain chemical] dopamine, which is associated with pleasure, enjoyment, and learning. 10. Try to have fun. If you’re depressed, make time for things you enjoy. What if nothing seems fun anymore? "That's just a symptom of depression, You have to keep trying anyway. As strange as it might sound, you have to work at having fun. Plan things you used to enjoy, even if they feel like a chore. Keep going to the movies. Keep going out with friends for dinner. When you're depressed, you can lose the knack for enjoying life, you have to relearn how to do it. In time, fun things really will feel fun again.

My periods are irregular my gyno asked me to use Ovulation kit from Day 9 of last period but it have only 5 strips should I start from day 9 every alternate day till 17th day or shall I use regularly since day 10-15th what as I don't have her number and 2mrw is day 9.

Hello, you may start it from day 10-15 as usually the ovulation occurs by that time and if it still doesn't occur by day 15 then you have to buy a fresh one to continue from day 16.

When stressed/hurried our posture is strained even when sitting. This posture uses different set of muscles which are not accustomed to bear strain of prolong sitting. So they hurt or present as pain. Always plan take few minutes to relax before starting work. Sit straight and in a comfortable posture. When stressed put half hourly alarm set as a reminder to balance yourself.

I have panic attacks but they are controlled by medication. I ran out of my medication and I can't afford a doctor to get them refilled. I have back and forth from the hospital but they only give me a three day supply. I need a refill and a doctor that is based on income, I am presently unemployed but I need my meds now. Please help.

Panic attacks maybe controlled by medicines, but they are rooted in your thinking- they are triggered by your perception. If you really wish to get rid of the problem take psychotherapy/ counselling sessions along with medicines. Depending on medicines for relief will only result in a lifetime dependence on medicines with increasing dosages.

Mr it appears that present medications are not much helpful to her, only way is to shift to long acting basal analogue insulin like injection basalog of biocon star with a dose of 6 units before breakfast and increase on alternate days by two units till target fasting levels are attained. For this self monitoring of blood glucose has to be done. Plus please do inform her hba1c level and lipid profile, weigt, height and physical activity level for me to guide.

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1. Avoid=hot and cold at time 2. Less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black 3. Do not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4. Avoid late night sleep 5. Avoid to eat spicy food, besan, bekary food, overeating, junk food. 6. Every 3 day in month eat mung dal and rice for whole day.

When Will My Newborn Start Teething?

Tooth eruption is not only a sign that your child is acquiring the ability to tear, bite, and chew food but it also effects the baby's weight gain, immunity strengthening and development of the brain indirectly.

It is observed that most babies get their first tooth at around 6 months after birth, but they may start gnawing as early as 3 months or as late as 14, and may vary from child to child.  This depends on many factors, one of them being as when the parents started sprouting teeth and whether or not your baby was a preemie. In case of premature and low birth weight babies there may be a delay in their first tooth eruption. Children should have a full set of primary teeth by the time they are almost three.

Babies generally undergo the following Teething Timeline:

  • 6 months: lower central incisors

  • 8 months: upper central incisors

  • 10 months: lower and upper lateral incisors

  • 14 months: first molars

  • 18 months: canines

  • 24 months: second molars

Symptoms of Teething:

  • Babies start gnawing to relieve the pain of an emerging tooth.

  • Puffy and red gums

  • Excessive drooling

  • Irritation, especially at night

  • Tugging Ear

  • A change in eating habits

Methods to Soothe the Pain:

Teething is a physiological process, no major intervention is needed.

  • Distraction: You can often soothe your child simply by diverting their minds off the pain by any new toy.

  • You shouldn't use teethers and topical teething gels to soothe the pain as they might be toxic to babies.

Symptoms of teething usually disappear when the tooth breaks through the gum. In case your baby is teething and the pain prevails , the following signs and symptoms are seen - high fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, highly inflamed gums or blue gum (Cysts) or any kind of lesion or bumps on the gums. In such case you should consult the pediatrician for further guidance.

I will suggest you to do suryanamaskar daily as per your capacity for a minimum of six months and I will suggest you to eat a low fat content in your diet.

Dark circles are because of lack of nutrients....sleep and weakness...so take proper nutrients and drink plenty of juices and sleep for atleast 7 hours a day...drink 7-8 glasses of water every day.

Please do a urine pregnancy test first to exclude pregnancy. If negative you can consider taking combined hormonal pills like novelon.
